@Mrs. S_D, do you have any pointers for @apple_muncher about shingles. Didn't Mr. S_D have them at some point. Did anything help? I know my friend used oat baths and calamine lotion, but any other hints? Any one else have ideas that might help her?14

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
So other than knitting & watching iPlayer, I did nothing on Saturday - didn’t even make dinner 😔 we had our first Chinese in months. The series I watched was called “In The Flesh” - odd but enjoyable 🙂 Strange ending so I assume they were thinking of a 3rd series which didn’t get made 🤨 Wudupa.
Sunday I was up at 09:30, had my first cuppa & finished knitting another matching scarf & beanie 🥳
Next scarf started in feather & fan stitch. Now watching a new series “Hope Street” which I am quite enjoying as it stars Ciaran McMenamin whom I quite like as an actor. The soup DH made delicious 😋 We had a full roast dinner - pork with crackling, roast potatoes, parsnips & carrots, Yorkshire puddings, peas & green beans + hm gravy 😋 DH washed some of the pots & pans whilst I did the rest of the wudupa. DSis & I watched several films - Love Actually, Serendipity & The Holiday as well as the Strictly Come Dancing results show - no surprises as to who got through to the Final.
2474 - 2475 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
2476 Kitchen detritus binned
No cheerleading as I fell asleep on the sofa for over 2 hours & have only just woken up 😧

Well, I think we've got to the bottom of what was causing the explosion of mould in the bathroom, there was a blocked gutter with all the awful weather recently. So that has been cleared and it seems as though it has fixed the problem. I'm pleased, because we were worried it was going to be an expensive roof issue.
Decluttered a bit too much money on a short break we booked, but hey ho. Started thinking about the plan for next year as it has been an expensive couple of years and we need to reign it in.
I am having a sort through of various electronics over the next few days with a goal to clearing and recycling as much as we can.
Will post towards the end of the month our decluttering goals.15 -
Hi all, after the early morning activity yesterday I did fall back asleep for an hour or so but I did get a bit more done through the day. 2 LDFPA, the lr bin was emptied. OH has lost a present somewhere in the house so I was helping sort through the pile at the side of the couch and under OHs couch. I found an old wool cardigan that had been severely attacked by moths. Straight into the bin and an explanation for where the moths kept appearing from in the lr
2 boxes of cards in my stash have consolidated into 1 box, and similar for the gift tags. I still have enough to last for next year but the pile is reducing
. A large box was put into the recycling.
Today I am off to the post office to post the christmas cards. I have just heard on the radio that this is the busiest day in post offices so I am expecting to queue for a while and then I have to call at the pharmacy again to collect my meds. OH has decorated a cake for ln so we may pop in to see her as I haven't seen her since Thursday.
Right I better get weaving or the day will be gone. Hugs to everyone who would like one

I had a nice weekend. We saw Die Hard at the Prince Charles cinema in London and there was a really good atmosphere. People were laughing and cheering at bits. I haven't ever seen it on the big screen and it is my brother's favourite film so we went for his birthday.
We stayed in the Ibis hotel in Canning Town which unfortunately has a 24 hour McDonald's very nearby! I have eaten so unhealthily again so I need to lose some weight. I'm serious this time as I also aggravated my bad hip this weekend and I think losing weight might help that too.
My husband has to go out to get out money so he is dropping off the donation bags to the charity shop.
I did buy some cable boxes from Amazon to tidy up the cables from the televisions as that has been annoying me for ages. I need to vaccum later and then we will sort out the cables. The flooring and the painting should be finished this week so then I will put up the tree.2025 GOALS

Went to a lovely concert of Renaissance Music at my Church last night. it was an incredibly high standard and so beautiful and Christmassy.
Back to work today. I was shattered by lunch time but managed to get through the day - doubt if I'll be doing anything useful this evening. I think that maybe I just need to accept that I am at a low ebb at this time of year and need plenty of rest.
Bathroom is "getting there" ! Walls all grouted. Still on track for it being mostly finished by the end of the week - other than some boxing and flooring that will need to be finished in the New Year. More than anything I will be relieved when I can put things back in the rooms / cupboards they belong.
Picked up 2 brand new "floating bedside tables from outside a neighbours house. I've just seen them on the La Redoute website for £85 each!!!! I think I will use them for storage rather than as bedside tables - but if that feels like a waste I will donate to CS

forgot to comment on the fab teddy xmas tree and knitting,
Had help today with picture hanging , putting up a bookshelf, some other repairs, but need a new curtain rail and when I've moced furniture around more pictures to go up. Larger ones are ok in rooms with picture rails as I can move around if I change my mind.
4 items sold and packaging - will go tomorrow (7 as 2 in one package), 3 vintage files to landfill as unloved, other packaging out, bookcase and pictures up (counting as 5), unfortunately CS didn't collect box and bags (x4) for collection, box looked abit empty so added 3 glasses, some pottery x2 and a bowl, trousers, and 3 party time outfits (less fantasy me) so 27, bags will count when dropped off, also some cards sorted, with some from my stash ankle hurt so didn;t go out and ate up left overs, broken scissors 30 2001.12 -
Hi all, eventually got into gear and got to the post office so cards posted and picked up a stocking filler from my list. I have 4 presents left to get, the problem is that I have no ideas for 1 person and only half an idea for another. Luckily they will be hand delivered so I have a few days yet to think
I collected and sorted my meds, the bedroom recycling was emptied and the kitchen bin. I had a sort out of the car and while I found parking tickets from Cornwall in May I didn't find the one I need. There are a few other places I need to check, such as coat pockets etc but if I haven't found it by tomorrow I will have to pay the ticket or it will just get more expensive. I picked up some coffee and called in to see ln. I also took in the cake OH had decorated for her complete with the plastic sweet tin it was stored in. I have no idea where that sweet tin came from, I suspect OH bought it while I was in Dorset, no sign of the sweets that were in it though
.
I was discussing with ln another neighbour over the road, a widower who has steadily gone down hill since his wife died. He is fiercely independent but another neighbour does have a key. His brother and sil live in Derby which is quite a trek but they phone daily. A few weeks ago they phoned the key person to say they hadn't been able to get hold of him for 2 days so could she check on him. Despite having a key she didn't want to go into the house because she was frightened of what she would find. So after trying several times and getting no answer she called the police who took several hours to arrive. On entering he was found on the floor in the back room having been there for over 2 days. He was whisked off to hospital in an ambulance where he was found to have pneumonia, he had just collapsed with it and the only thing that saved him was that the heating was on so he was warm. I was flabbergasted and furious about the key lady and said I would have gone in. Now he is in a convalecent place and he has finally agreed to have a personal alert thing but sil is worried about who should be the contact person. After discussion with ln I have said I will do it if the gentleman is in agreement. I think I understand why the key lady was frightened but it does make me very sad and quite angry to think he was laying there all that time, even if she had spoken to another neighbour someone would have gone in sooner. So I will speak to the sil next time they are here and offer my services if the gentleman agrees. Ln's DH was a retired police man so he was always called upon for these sort of things before he died and then we had another policeman who was my other neighbour who inherited the role but they have moved. We do still have a police woman in the road, 3 doors away but she is quite young only being a policewoman for less than a year though we have told her she is next in line for the role
On the subject of shingles luckily I have never had it but I am a bit annoyed that I am both too old and too young to get the vaccination as you have to be either 65 or over 70. I am sure the powers that be have some logical, in their world, reason for this but it's not washing with me. Hugs to anyone who is suffering now as I know it is very painful.
Right off to bed now, sorry for the ramble. Hugs to everyone who would like one
