Hi,
just need to say TC77, you may not be where you would like to be yet but you are still making progress and still posting here. You also work and have a life, Well done for keeping on keeping on,x
Energy shifter, I am so impressed that your total ins are only 202, I am going to adopt your system next year and I think it will embarrass me as to how much I actually bring in. Clothes are my weakness, usually charity shop but even so.
bitbybit, you are on fire!
Just need to finish the bias binding by hand on the Christmas quilt, it has taken longer than I estimated. I expect the door curtain to take bloomin ages, I think I said that I was never making curtains again! After this one, I will never make curtains again.
Whilst in the grotto yesterday I found a Santa hat which can go to the chazzer, I have also marked one of my Christmas jumpers to go. It is pleasing to use up wrapping paper stash, which was saved from previous gifts,
I cut up a spare single fitted sheet to back the quilt so I will count that as an out,Also counting a bottle of JD from stash given to the aerial guy in lieu of payment. Guy is a mate of Mr V's, we have a stash of whiskey as Mr V is often given it for doing charity work.
As well as the mystery Christmas card senders Jan and Ian we have had one through the post today from Ronald and Lorraine. Who? They obviously know us as it is correctly addressed, we however have no clue.

OH has managed to split the fitted sheet on his side. No idea how - but he is a twitchy sleeper so likely related to that somehow. Don't think this has ever happened before so not sure how to proceed other than to bin the sheet. He did ask if I thought I could repair it and I don't know how easy that would be - particularly as I'd be mending by hand as we've no sewing machine. I do have some iron on stuff that might work and then stitch over that? Thoughts???
But meanwhile as the bed needs to be made up for tonight I'm hoping to get him to help me go through the linen cupboard and decide what needs to be charitied (if that's a word). Or maybe I'll simply empty the cupboard and get him to put back what he wants to keep and what needs to go on the bed....think that means I have to clear the dining room table first......I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. 1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday was a damp dark day but quite a bit warmer. We received our first Christmas card 🙂 All I did today was deal with my mail, continue knitting & watch a 7 episode series called The Fades which I thoroughly enjoyed. DH & I finished off the hm soup. Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & tinned tomatoes. Wudupa.
2470 - 2472 Kitchen & office recycling, drinks cans - recycled
2473 Kitchen detritus binned
Saturday is a damp drizzly day so feels a lot colder than yesterday. The tree chap who cancelled yesterday’s visit is turning up today. He turned up at just gone noon, quoted a similar price to previous chap’s quote BUT because he is able to fit us in next Saturday, he has been given the job 🥳 DH has filled the bird feeders, zizzed food for the worms plus has made a chicken based soup 👏 using up a few bits & pieces from both the freezer & the fridge 🙂
Sorry to hear about your additional health issues weenancy 😔 I still marvel at how much work you get through each day 🤩 Although it sounds like your genealogy work is more like pleasure than work 😊 Your roommate G seems to be taking the “cook once, eat twice” practice to extremes 😨 Fingers crossed that it doesn’t lead to too much food being wasted 🤞Hoping the weather stays fine until you can afford a coat 🤞
Good luck labelling the photos TC77 🍀 & fingers crossed that the many stage frog can be sorted & that the issue with the ex can be laid to rest at the next hearing 🤞 Seems to be dragging on at a snail’s pace 😔
London_1, relieved to hear that you only have a head cold 😥 No wonder DGS Ben is so proud - the potato crop he planted has lasted for months & is still going strong 🥳 Well done to you & DD for keeping the bag of Christmas decorations & lights out of landfill 👏 & good luck with project “wardrobe decluttering”🍀
Moorviews, although I would love to see your sewing makes there is absolutely no need to apologise - I completely understand your desire for anonymity 😊 It sounds like your Christmas preparations are well underway 👏 Wishing you every success with project “Use Up” 🤞
Thank you for the lovely compliment vulpix ☺️ I notice that you share the same philosophy as weenancy’s roommate G when it comes to bulk cooking 😉 Fingers crossed that MrV’s desire to have the tv aerial repaired doesn’t cost too much 🤞 Excellent work using up your craft stash 👏 & well done on almost clearing your Mum’s front bedroom 🥳 Good luck with the bed changing 🍀
QueenJess, sorry to hear about DD’s tummy bug 😔 sending get well wishes for a quick recovery ❤️🩹 Please try to fit in some time to visit the TLC Carriage 🙏 Just a reminder that we do have a section of those Japanese sleeping pods 😉 which I am told are ideal for catching up on your sleep 😊 Excellent work in the library (hopefully you are noticing a difference 🤞) & well done on sorting the puzzles 👏 I was so pleased to hear that you have treated yourself to some new to you clothes - you deserve a treat 😊
EnergyShifter, shame that your week off is over 😔 but pleased that you got quite a lot done & managed to have a lovely evening out with your DS 😊 Shame about dipping under your 3:1 ratio but the situation is retrievable 😉 & if anyone can do it, you can 👏
TC77, I think you are probably being too hard on yourself ‘wagging finger emoji’ DD2 will probably notice far more clear space than you give yourself credit for 😊 Not least being the cleared dining room table 😊 Sorry to hear that your big item of furniture is still cluttering the house 😔
bit_by_bit, fingers crossed that life quietens down over the next couple of weeks so that you can enjoy the festivities 🤞 Hopefully the washing situation at DS3’s home is not quite as bad as the first time around 🤞Perhaps this time around a few more items of clothing can be decluttered, which should make the next time easier & quicker 🙏 Wishing your DD an absolutely marvellous time in Canada 😊 What a wonderful opportunity - a whole month in Canada - such a beautiful country 😻 & with any luck she will get to see the Northern Lights 🍀
Great decluttering TC77 👏 Only 52 to go 🥳
Liverpool_Anne, it might have been a slow decluttering day from your POV but you still managed to get quite a lot done 👏 Hope you got a better night’s sleep last night 🤞& that you are not suffering too much from your B12 jab 🙏
Gers, thanks for that 👏 I have set it up to record 🙂
Well said vulpix 😊 TC77 should definitely be very proud of how far she has come this year 🥳 & some lovely cheerleading for EnergyShifter & bit_by_bit 😊 Great work completing the Christmas quilt & using up some of your wrapping paper stash 👏 Good luck with making your last ever curtain 🍀😉 Another mystery Christmas card 🤨 You & MrV are obviously very popular 😅
Brie, not sure about a solution to the split fitted sheet 🤷♀️ Maybe OH should have a sleeping bag 😅 Only joking 🙃 Hopefully you can persuade OH to sort out the linen cupboard & maybe use the bed as the flat surface to work from 🤞so that you can relax without having to clear the dining room table first 😉
All caught up 🙂 I suppose I should find something to do other than watch iPlayer ………….

Sitting down for the first time today. Tried to catch up on "stuff" and managed the following:
- Took DS to and from gymnastics
- Picked up a parcel
- Picked up some provisions to make a cake tomorrow
- Went to the local farm shop for cheese and to stock up on the discontinued bran flakes DH loves
- Did three loads of washing
- Changed all the beds and all the towels
- Supervised DS writing all his Xmas cards
- Found the party invitations ready to write for DS's birthday party
- Made two batches of shortbread (one with chocolate chips) and packed them into a pretty tin for my dad's present
- Made jelly for the kids
- Made vanilla ice cream
- Sewed all DS's Beavers badges onto his jumper
- Wrapped parents presents so they can take them tomorrow
- Went through all the remaining boxes from my parents and sorted/filed all the books etc in there. Just have a tiny pile left of stories I wrote when I was a child and my old University lab book to peruse and figure out what to do with
- Put the growing pile of stuff into the loft and whilst I was there I rifled around to take some stuff out to use now and/or get rid of. Also found more Xmas decorations DH didn't take out whilst he was up there previously
- Stuff to get rid of filed in the box in the cupboard and everything on Buy Nothing already posted up ready
- Reorganised the cupboards in the dining room with the kids toys in so all the kids games are in a single cupboard
- Dumped two boxes of tiny toys I think we should get rid of on DH's desk (I have run out of brain decision making power for today)
Probably need to check DD's books and get rid of a few and maybe have a quick wardrobe check to get rid of anything she refuses to wear. Will only be the odd thing, but am dreading the influx of Xmas stuff and feel we should purge before it comes. Still got a few of my clothes to double check, but I did check my shoes and forgot I did them recently and besides the one pair of boots I have already got rid of, I do wear everything else.Feel like I've done tons, although the place still needs a tidy and I haven't got rid of much.Digital:

I have been slowly organising craft stuff that has been bought back into house with stuff I already had here. So many little bits and pieces like ribbons and thread all put into boxes and labelled. Nothing out except for a few odd bits but my head feels clearer. A few bigger odd bits put into cardboard box to sort when I wade down to craft shed. Room looks much tidier. A cupboard from upstairs emptied and large books moved to book case downstairs. Dump trip booked for Wednesday so that will spur me on. Dressing table moved into spare bedroom. I feel that I am slowly creating a bit more space and as we dont have young children hopefully we wont be bringing much more in after christmas.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Hi,
Brie, I don’t know what to say about the sheet. For me it would depend on how old it is and how many other sheets I had. It would not be too difficult to sew by hand but it would need the fabric to not worn thin. If it’s thin it would probably not be worth the effort as it would quickly rip again. As promised a couple of photos. Quilt that needs ironing and a teddy bear tree that I forgot to switch the lights on.:19 -
Hi all, the only thing I did today was get my jab and 1 LDFPA. I watched the footy on tv and then promptly fell asleep on the couch for about 3 hours. I did go to collect my meds but they weren't ready and the pharmacy was very busy so I said I would go back on Monday as I am not in dire need of any of it. OH made tea and I haven't even done the washing up. In bed now and falling asleep 😴.I
@Vulpix I love the teddy bear tree and the quilt
Hugs to everyone who would like one

1577 LDFPA
Take care everyone

Added a bag of miscellaneous to go through when I went to a Senior Fair today. It was mainly different agencies that provide financial and food help, so I will be reading through the handouts over the next couple of days. They gave us a snack mid-morning and then a show ow holiday music, mostly in Spanish, as it is in mainly a Spanish neighborhood, though there are a number of English and Vietnamese speakers there. Then they fed us a burrito with rice and ground beef filling which was very good. Di and I were the first ones fed - we had sat at the furthest table from the music as it was pretty loud and our table was picked first. We filled out a questionnaire they had given us and were given a $10 gift card to the store we shop in the most. I'm buying dog bones with mine.
Am decluttering five puzzles as they are going with me tomorrow when I go to celebrate my sister's birthday and my grand-nephew's birthday. Also have two bags of presents for them.
More family history tonight. I am trying to get as much as I can done while I am still physically able to. I have made 10,746 additions to FamilySearch this year so far. But I have a lot more to go. Been indexing two parishes and making corrections my cousin put in there (she never looked at the marriage or death records so has a lot of wrong connections). I am making sure that the sources are all connected to the right people.
Dog is depressed I think - she ate breakfast okay but not her dinner. I hope she gets along with other huskies when she goes out this week.
