Mum finally had someone from her insurance company look at the water damage, and he has already contacted upstairs neighbour’s insurance person, and will set the wheels in motion for fixing the damage. That’s a relief.
In the meantime, I have received several WhatsApp messages from my cousin who lives close to Mum, about why I was dealing with this, being so far away (4 hours). I just know my sister contacted her to complain that Mum delegated this task to me and not to her; I just don’t know why cousin didn’t just listen and then let it go. Why the interference? Anyway, Mum knows and is not amused.
I have been diligently meal planning from the freezer and about a third of the food is now in our bellies
St. Nicolas has been celebrated and everyone was cheerful and had actually managed to buy the other nice gifts. Lots of kitchen stuff, because I asked for new versions of old and damaged items, and dds have new items because they are properly cooking once a week now (they are 15 and 12).
I have sent letters disputing 3 different parking fines, and have been awarded non-payment for all 3! That’s €200 we don’t have to pay!Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5920 -
@balabooberlies welcome back. I have thought of you and wondered how you're getting on. Lovely to see you and do make use of the tlc when you need it.
4 big lever arch files dropped off at bank of things for young people. I brought home new ones when we were kicked out of office at the start of covid and didn't want to see them binned but have far too many.
Beyond belief how far from like with like is my home. Finding pillow cases in odd places, cushions and all sorts but do feel psychologically I'm ready to pass more things on but still want them to find a good home. Have a cs collection booked on the basis of 4 bags and 2 boxes.
At weekend hoping to go with my cousin to our aunt ( the only one of 3 sisters surviving) to help with identifying photos and stories.
Is it best to write on backs of photos with a pencil ( b) or special pens?
Got to post important frog and proof of posting.
Have also booked DIY help for Monday

It all started with my niece, when she was barely saying 'mum' or 'dad'......kept calling me Bala. Everything since then has been good hearted (and cherished) derivitaves. She is a mother now, 28 years old. But Bala is still my name. To her.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
I had a small flurry of activity dismantling cardboard boxes & stripping them of sticky tape. I am watching the last series of The Fall & have started knitting a matching scarf for the beanie (which needs to be sewn up 😉) Finished watching The Fall - disappointing & hurried ending but overall I enjoyed it. My new pick is Scrublands which got off to an explosive start 😉
DH filled the bird feeders + zizzed peelings & scraps for worm food. I have finally written my overseas Christmas cards & they are stamped & ready to post tomorrow 🥳 The beanie is now sewn up. Dinner was spaghetti Bolognaise with garlic bread. Wudupa.
2447 - 2452 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, 2 Cardboard boxes, bag of paper packaging for worm bedding, cardboard packaging - recycled
2453 - 2456 Kitchen, lr & office detritus, plastic packaging - binned

Yesterday was somewhat frustrating. Tried to register for class and managed to register for one class for me and Di, plus a special class for her playing Chimes, but having trouble with the other class we wanted to take. They are both just for fun, but wish I could find out what the problem is. Did register for a Senior Fair on Saturday. Went to the library but after two hours was very tired so went home via the store to pick up my prescriptions. Went to the FamilySearch Center and found several more generations for the young man with the Mexican ancestry. It has been fun to work on. Today was a really hot day - it did make it to 28C. They have promised that it will cool off this week.
Today I didn't do what was on my list. I woke up very dizzy. Was able to feed the animals, but didn't make it to the library today. Instead went back to bed and slept until noon. Was still slightly dizzy, but needed to get up and do something to make the day worth it. The church delivered more food and I took half of it next door. But my to-do list is on hold until tomorrow. Need to get presents ready for two birthdays by Sunday, also some other presents that aren't Christmas presents. They are "just because presents" because they are for several people who aren't the name that was drawn for me for Christmas, but I think they should have them now rather than later. We will be seeing them on Sunday. I have five birthdays to sort out as well as Christmas presents for the young people. The three a grandniece and 2 nephews all have birthdays this month, one the day after Christmas. So I try to prepare separate presents for Birthdays as they seem to lose out with some of the relatives. I'm still not sure I like the idea of buying just for one person because I like to pick up presents all year round for everyone.
I ordered cat food and kitty litter to pick up tomorrow. I don't have a cat - my roommates do , but neither of them have the money yet to pay for anything. They will soon as one is out working tonight and the other I just helped solve one of her biggest frogs today that will give her and me some money for bills. Her other major frog we are hoping to solve at the Senior Fair because the people she needs help from will be there.
The most exciting part of my day was the man who is thinking about taking my dog to his home came by today. My dog was so excited to see him. They went to the dog park together and apparently my dog did very well. He is coming back next week to take the dog to the dog park again and introduce her to his other two huskies. It would be wonderful if it works out. She spends most of the day alone except when I can go out and play with her. Not good for a husky.
Tomorrow I start the day with a doctor's appointment. This month we have more doctor's appointments than anything else on our calendar. Need to put in some happier events if I can find them.
Hope everyone has a good week.

Good morning chums well today has gone wrong already I had it planned out to take a bag to the CS this morning but woke up with a streaming cold, and very damp and rainy outside so I'm staying indoors today, but the upside is I shall be sorting out the CDs into another bag for the CS as I have far too many and don't play half of them so they will be going maybe by Saturday if my cold dries up along with the weather
So today will definitely be another NSDmaking it 7 in a row
I've peeled the last of the potatoes from garden crop and they are in water in the fridge ,so its likely they will be boiled and mashed and frozen for future use as I'm away over Christmas and New Year so I didn't want them sprouting in the cupboard.Much better they are sorted, cooked and in the freezer for use after Christmas than binning them .
In the cupboard I have spices and herbs that have to be sorted today as well, and any that are dried up and past rescuing will be discarded.
I'm becoming quite vigilant about stuff now, and look on it as help towards my early moving
Lots more wriggle room in the freezer now and tonights dinner will be some steamed Finnan haddock with a poached egg on top, and the last of the bag of broccoli .I dug out a couple of soft rolls and some HM soup for lunch so I'm hoping I can get even more stuff used up from the freezer and maybe defrost it after the New Year.
Its quite interesting sorting out meals from indoors instead of going to the shops and its certainly helping my food budget this month
Onwards and upwards chums
