Hi Bala, welcome back.x
I put the Christmas decorations up last night, It didn't take long at all. Some more identified to go,will drop them off later. I am not happy with the £3 3ft tree, I am not feeling it at all. When inspiration hits me, I will change it in some way. This change may be to a 4ft tree! I used to have a teddy bear tree in the porch at the old house. The 3ft tree is the new teddy bear tree at the request of my children, aged 32,30 and 22. I seem to have passed the Christmas spirit on to the next generation.
Brie, your MIL's Christmas decoration sounds amazing, someone will love it and give it a good home.
TC77 and bit by bit,you are on fire!
Mr V took the door curtain to the chazzer the matching pair of curtains went to last week. The woman said she put them out straight away and they sold within minutes. She was saying what lovely curtains they were. I know ! I spent hours making the darn things !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! New curtains have been threatened to be delivered for the last 3 days now.
I must get up and do stuff, Wednesday afternoon my lovely cleaner comes so we always go out somewhere out of her way.
I will update numbers again. Vx:17 -
I'm mid-way through my week off. Roofers came on Monday. There was good news and bad news. Good News - Main roof has been repaired and damage was very limited. Bad News - Roof over kitchen has been given a DNR. I will need to get it replaced which is going to cost me around £4k in the New Year. No option but to get it done so I have bit the bullet and booked the work. The roofers have fixed tarpaulin over it so it'll be safe and dry over the Christmas period.
Bathroom - I now have a sink and 4 completely tiled walls to add to the new bath and toilet.. I am told that the basics should be finished by the end of next week. Guy doing the work could only do 2 days this week because of family commitments. In all honesty it was nice to wake up this morning knowing we've just got the house to ourselves. Monday pushed me to my limit as at one point there were 4 workmen in the house.
I always seem to get "one of those days" in the run up to Christmas where I get down and teary - yesterday was that day so it was a bit of a struggle. Today the weather is brighter and I feel like I'm slowly coming out of the funk! I need to get out of the house today.

LO was 🤮 on Monday night. I’ve done 5 loads of washing ( no joke) all the bed linen and towels, pyjamas etc… feels like the tumble dryer was on all day yesterday. I steam cleaned the bathroom And the kitchen floor ( whilst LO was having a nap) I was actually far more productive than if I’d had the day off by myself 😂. LO is much better and will go back to school tomorrow I hope.I’ve just made some soup - courgette carrot and potato. Will have it for lunch. I can’t see much else to declutter from the fridge, everything is in date, the 6 apples need either cooking or eating. There’s not too much in the freezer and it’s orderly and tidy.If I can persuade LO to have a nap, I will wrap some presents this afternoon. Still need to buy a few more, will look online.
There weren’t many Christmas decorations to declutter this year as had a good cull last Christmas.
little by little, jobs are getting done. It is never ending though. I think it might have been a year ago I mentioned the loft cupboards of doom, and haven’t tackled them yet.13 -

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday is a bright, sunny day with a temperature of 4C at 11:00 🙂 Set to rise to 6C by about 14:00. The household rubbish wheelie bin has been emptied & for once the black bin liner has remained in situ thus saving a few pennies 🙂 I have my first cuppa & the timer is on so will have a bash at catching up with the cheerleading 😉
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 Very pleased to hear that your ankle is now healed enough to walk on 😊
Excellent decluttering London_1 👏 Hope the weather stayed dry yesterday & that you enjoyed your coffee morning 🤞I am completely the opposite with Christmas cards, I love sending them 😊 & receiving them 😉 Although this year I am way behind - none written, none sent & having checked my supply of cards I have finally used up my stash so need to pop out & buy a box of cards - pronto 😥
Liverpool_Anne, you have been busy 👏 Well done on resisting the urge to perpetuate violence on your OH 🥳 I imagine that if the wudupa had been done & there were clear worktops in the kitchen you might not have noticed that OH had done nothing else 😉 Sorry to hear about the tooth 😔 Dental problems seem to have been a feature of the latter part of 2023 - several other threads have had their fair share of posters who are in the ‘Dental Pain Club’ 😣 Good luck with your B12 jab on Saturday 🍀
Wednesday2000, wow you were busy yesterday 🤩 Hopefully the floor guy has arrived & is getting on with the downstairs flooring 🤞
Brie, well done on remembering the box of Christmas decorations & passing them onto the CS 👏 I must admit to being rather dubious about the subject matter of MiL’s cross stitch - however lovingly done 🤨
Muddy_Walker, so helpful of your dogs 😉 They are obviously getting excited about Christmas 😅 The tree sounds rather wonderful 😊 I am just wondering if there is some way of ‘setting’ it so that bits stop falling off 🤔 By that I mean like keeping hair in place by using hair spray or gel 🧐 Hopefully the ‘bug’ will come out & go away very quickly 🤞 Hope Friday’s treatment goes well 🙂
More excellent decluttering bit_by_bit 👏 86/100 bags + 13 large items has earned you another Gold Star ⭐️
London_1, a very busy Tuesday with lots of decluttering of items & disposal of superfluous paperwork 👏 Your freebie hot chocolate sounds scrumptious 😋 I might be a bit odd but whenever I consider the cost of postage I just think how lucky we are that a physical expression of our love costs so little to send 😊 especially as we are talking far flung corners of the world 😉
Now, now Liverpool_Anne ‘wagging finger emoji’ Not every day needs to be a full on decluttering day 😉 Your Tuesday sounds like a perfect TLC day - coffee with a friend, a walk in the sunshine, some freezer emptying, crochet & a shorter Christmas gift list 👏😊 The only fly in the ointment is the failing laptop 😔 Although hopefully with a combination of Black Friday & New Year sales you might be able to treat yourself to a new laptop at minimal cost 🤞
Just realised I am getting cold so fingerless gloves are on & I have turned the heating on as even 3 layers isn’t doing the job 😦 I will be back later once my fingers are working properly 😉

Missed my meeting this afternoon due to unexpected but very welcome visitor. Friend of DS2 since they were little boys. Coffee sandwich and a natter before he went to his next job. Lives some distance away but occasionally finds himself working in my area.
1789 Case not exactly packed but all stuff together on my bed
1790 Very annoying frog. One government dept sent email to DS2 saying they couldn't process his claim if they don't get the information they need in next 7 days. That information goes to them directly from another government department so not sure how this is DS2's problem. I found some phone numbers for him to chase them up but he is away on a residential course so not easy to do.
1791 Tidied up and put things away - washing basket is empty.
Not been warm all day - off to get them from school in a bit.2025 Decluttering Campaign 697/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Real life has been too busy, so not got much decluttering done bar some photos I found that were DH’s, although my fridge is now sparkly clean and ready for restocking. Spent a whole day dealing with work stuff and playing counsellor to make sure they are dealing with the fact I am leaving.
My parents are coming at the weekend and everyone here probably knows that means more stuff coming my way. I still haven’t completed sorting out the stuff they brought from the last 2 visits and given they emptied their whole loft for some emergency roof repairs, I frankly dread to think what they are bringing with them.
I also have an overflowing present drawer for stuff I’ve picked up free for the kids and I need to get rid of a few of my clothes/shoes as I don’t wear them. Lots to get on with, although I spent today building more drawers for DS to house his tat in and wrapping all the kids Xmas presents. So baby steps…Digital:
