Good Morning chums well wet and windy here at the moment and I was going to take some stuff to the CS this morning but as my cold is in full flow I think I'll wait another day. I tested to make sure it wasn't't the dreaded covid and its not just a head cold thank goodness.
Today I shall be boiling and mashing the big container of the last of the potatoes from the garden and once cold they will be frozen for use over the coming weeks Nothing gos to waste in my house if at all possible .My DGS Ben was so proud that he had got such a good crop of spuds It was his first time ever growing anything but taller in his lifeSo the results will help out in the coming weeks and save me a lot of work. Once cold and portioned up and frozen it will be useful to have ready to pop into the microwave when I want some veg for my dinner.
Then I have a large plastic tub under the bed in my spare room to declutter as well I've not opened it for a couple of years and I think its got an overflow of old medicines in there so they will be bagged up and gone Our local chemist takes out of date medicines for disposal which is handy.
Slowly I'm working my way through to stuff that has to go. I'm leaving the wardrobe to last as my eldest DD said she will go through it for me. The extra bag of Christmas baubles and two surplus strings of lights I gave her she took to work and gave to one of the other co-managers there who collects for Gillingham Street Angels a local charity that helps local folk going through a hard time. So I'm glad a family who may be struggling locally will at least have a bit of Christmas cheer rather than them going into landfill
Right, time to get a wriggle on
Keep warm and dry if you can

TC77 - good luck with your ongoing frog.Mrs SD - thank you for my star, which I think I still need to add to my signature. Sorry that I don’t post photos of my sewing. It’s only because I wear the items and prefer anonymity, otherwise I would love to share.I feel like I have been resting on my laurels a bit this week and not made much progress although the tree is up and decorated and a lot of gubbins has been put away that was lying around. There are also Christmas tasks to be done. I hope to use up my existing cards this year as a lot of different ones turned up when I was going through the desk. I am focusing on not bringing in any new things and using up candles, wrapping paper, fabrics and trims. Just going to get creative with what I have in the house and garden. This will all help to make some extra space in the cupboards and will also be fun and money saving.Hugs to anyone feeling a bit down or poorly 💐16

Mrs SD, you are a champion, posting all you do and all the encouragement you give, Thank you. I will do some photos for you later of the tree and the Christmas quilt. Thank you everyone for posting too, I enjoy reading about all you do. It prompts me and gives me food for thought.
Yesterday was a cooking kind of day. Big pan of soup, slow cooker of corned beef hash and mushroom risotto made. I am a great fan of cook for a week, The new curtains were put up but I think they need to come down again and be ironed. I also made headway on the Christmas lap quilt. I usually hand sew a quilt but this one is very simple. Plus I want to take it down South next week for my baby Grandson.
Today an aerial guy is coming . The tv went off when it snowed. I am not bothered as we have plenty of alternative ways of using the tv but for some reason Mr V wants it mending. I think the days of traditional tv viewing are almost over. Even my Mum only watches on her laptop.
Whilst the sewing machine is out I will finish the quilt, deconstruct and remake the door curtain ,lining it with a blanket and make a Christmas tree skirt. Using up craft stash. The blanket is one from several black bags in the car for bit by bit from my Mum's. I will not have Mums front bedroom emptied by Christmas but will be close. It can be my New Year resolution . I think bit by bit is taking the blankets to the refugee centre.
I will also change our bed today, a job I hate. Moving on to Christmas quilt covers today! We have a king bed and a single quilt each. I got just too despondent trying to change a massive quilt cover.
No decluttering today, just using stuff from stash.

Not got much done as DD had a tummy bug and I was on the night watch so am completely knackered. Barely worked yesterday because of it and so am trying to catch up today on both work and some home stuff. Not pushing myself too much as I am really tired. However, I am looking to chip away at some stuff. Too tired for digital decluttering and so I am back to tidying and physical decluttering. I am trying to chip away at the library stuff by putting away/sorting 5 things in there every time I get up. Managed to declutter some of the pile of things my parents brought last time, so making some slow progress there. I also managed to ram all of the puzzles into the cupboard (except for the one in progress). I will have to get rid of some, but I need to keep making them to be able to decide if I want to make them again or not.I have treated myself to some new to me clothes and shoes since I was frankly running out of things I actually want to wear. I've previously weeded out shoes and clothes, so it's already at a minimum, but as always there is the odd thing still to go. I've finally got rid of some boots that I always think I like the look of, but when I put them on I realise I don't like them that much. Haven't worn them for a year, so it's time to go. Will have another flick through winter clothes/shoes again as I know which ones I do/don't wear and it'll make room for the new stuff.Physical decluttering:

38,489 - books (charity box)

I can't believe my week off is already over ! I came out of my funk mid-week (which was a relief) and started to actually do things that involved leaving the house. Went out for a meal last night with DS. It was the Christmas Dinner for a fellowship meeting that I go to occasionally. We were lucky to be sitting with a lovely group of people who were friendly and inspiring . Went to Rochester this morning. Had some lucky finds in the Charity shop Brand New Karen Millen T.Shirt & 2 x cashmere cardigans (£3 each!!!) - one is a little snug so may be donated

Collected plumbing part
Booked pallet collection
Managed to send airmail Christmas card on time to Cousin in Malta - first time I've managed it in years!!!!
repaired 3 items with small holes.
Booked roofing job
Changed group for my Discipleship Course - will be doing it on Zoom instead of in person as I'm finding the travelling tiring since I had virus.

@Muddy_Walker thank you.
My vision of having the house in some order when dd2 back from uni failed. Had big item for sale and lots of watchers but not sold and smaller items I have a bid on I cannot findhow can I spend so long tidying and still be chaotic ( rhetorical question really as clearly too much stuff and top much going on). But having sorted some clothes (.but still.spend 20 mins finding my v warm.stylish trews) lovely yiu g colleague complemented me on my style - I think they see me on teams with my cosy fleeced. Anyway inspires the ambition of only.having clothes I like wearing:).
We will see what 20234 holds.
Some paper declutter and snuggled down to.watch tv with some files to thin out!16 -
Thanks@siebre and @Mrs_Salad_Dodger . Sadly I am the only one available at the moment for various reasons and I am have been very very busy. Life will be slowing down in the next few weeks then it is time to concentrate on them.
I did expect a backslide as winter set in as the ability to dry washing is reduced. Besides Rome wasn't built in a day. Habits come from routine and attention to them. I struggle myself so I am not complaining. Just hate to see them struggle and the strife it causes between them.
No decluttering today. Did collect an item for GS3 from someone n=on G#mtree. Had fun playing with it as the seller showed me how to use it.
DD all packed up to dead off to Canada tomorrowI will miss her over Christmas but at the same time she is taking an opportunity you don't often get in life. A whole month off.
She has already tidied her room and changed her bedding ready for me to use when my family visit next week.
Keep well all.

Hi all, slow decluttering day here. Slept badly last night but had to wake up and get mobile as I had my blood test and then took the car to get the bulb replaced.
