Lovely knitting @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
Sad to hear about the gentleman neighbour @Liverpool_Anne. I am a key holder for a neighbour. I also get why the lady didn't go in. I was nurse, policemen are used to seeing all sorts. Perhaps you could offer to go in with her if it happens again although he probably should have an official call system.
Lol @vulpix Made me laugh - burning his yankee candle at y oyu place. It feels like a good insut to him to give the stuff away or use it.
So one bag out today to the post office -a good number of sales online. Nil to add and doing childcare tomorrow.

I don't know if it's the case everywhere but we were able to give the key safe code to our place and our inlaws place previously to the Dr's surgery and also to emergency services. That way they could both easily get access to my MiL when needed.
Never needed to get the emergency services to use it but the nurses from the surgery would show up and let themselves in if they needed to take a blood pressure reading or whatever. it's a great system for those that live on their own. Also a bit disconcerting if you also live there and suddenly hear someone chattering away to MiL when you are stepping out of the shower.... We did ask the nurses to ring a day ahead so we'd know but somehow that didn't often work!
Also good for when carers were on regular duty for MiL. And if distant relatives are concerned about someone they could phone someone local and give them the code if necessary if one of the standbys wasn't available.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. So I have spent the afternoon knitting whilst watching Hope Street or writing Christmas cards. DH has filled the bird feeders & fed the worms. DSis attended a doctor’s appointment re her lung function & now has an appointment for the 20th re an asthma check 😔 She seems to be falling to pieces 😔 Dinner is going to be late as I didn’t keep track of the time 🙊 We are having cottage pie.
EnergyShifter, sorry to hear that this time of year is rather depressing for you 😔 I am sending you positive vibes that you can find something special that will help raise your spirits & energy levels & meanwhile lots of cwtches are coming your way 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 & with a small push you will be able to celebrate your 1:3 ratio 🥳
Lovely post Muddy_Walker 😊 Hopefully you are now fully recovered from Friday’s treatment 🤞 Good luck with the question setting for the Christmas quiz 🍀 I am sending get well soon wishes that DH recovers from the virus that you kindly donated 😅 Excellent decluttering & tidying 👏 Maybe your hubby will accept some assistance from you next year when tackling the 2 RofD 🙏
A short post as dinner is ready 🙂 See you later 👋

Hi,I am giving you a run for your money tonight Mrs SD. I am a night owl but this is very late for me. I have spent several hours, well more than several re making the door curtain. What a faff, never again. It is easier to make a curtain from scratch than to bodge one together as I have !
The quilt was a quick make, Bit by bit says it looked much nicer in real life than the photo, haha.
Charlies tribe, I go to your home town a lot, for shopping and to get on the motorway. You should think about giving the cave a try. It isn't claustrophobic as functions are in the cave mouth which is about as big as St Paul's cathedral. The staff are very well versed with people who come over a bit funny, they will always let you sit out of the gig area if that is the case. In any case, you don't even have to go in,the bands can be heard all over the village. They have to finish by 10 for residents to get some sleep. I don't know if you saw in the news last year where someone was trying to get into a concert by climbing over two barbed wire fences and slipping half way down a hundred foot rock face. Only to be saved by clinging to a sapling. The gig had to be evacuated and the guy had to be rescued by the mountain rescue team. Clown.
When my eldest kids were still at home we used to take turns to cook as the rule was the cook didn't wash up. They ALWAYS wanted to cook. They started when they were toddlers helping me cook and just learned like that. My youngest didn't come to me until she was eight. I got a shock when she thought I was abusing her for asking if she wanted to help cook! In my experience all kids like cooking,in hers she had people do it for her! She still doesn't cook.
I have numbers to update but will do it another time.

The cottage pie was tasty but for some reason very runny. Left a couple more messages for cousin R & she phoned back about 20:45. We had a lovely chat but R is exhausted again as she is still dealing with probate, the sale of her dad’s house & is working full time 😔 R just wants her first Christmas, without her dad, to be over. DSis & I watched a few episodes of House of Games & Countdown. Wudupa.

Brie, five years is no age for a supposedly good quality sheet 😔 Hopefully your repairs will give it another 5 years 🤞Great work from OH 👏 enough to earn another medal 🏅Re the excess cutlery do you have a matching excess of crockery? Even decluttering minor bits is helpful 👏 Such a shame about the Christmas cards to MiL 😔 Is it possible you saved a copy of the spreadsheet to a memory stick?
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Very impressed that you have already dealt with half the stuff your parents brought over 🤩 Good luck with the puzzles 🍀 Hopefully you will get time to make a few over Christmas 🤞
Well said Floss 😊
Nice to see you Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👋 The EDT is still moving so fast that even being away for only a couple of days means that there may be 20 or 30 posts to read 😉 Great decluttering especially decluttering frost/ice from the freezer 👏 Pleased to hear that you spent your time in Sherwood Forest enjoying yourself rather than writing cards 😊
bit_by_bit, hopefully as the hoard goes down it will be easier & quicker to do the tidying 🤞Excellent decluttering 👏 Hope you had a lovely time with vulpix 😊
weenancy, sorry for the delay in replying 😔 The only thing that helped slightly was paracetamol 😔 but I see that TC77 & Soontobeoap have made a couple of suggestions 👏
Foofoopuppy, great news that the mould problem has been sorted out 🥳 at little to no cost 😮💨 Sorry to hear that you have had an expensive couple of years 😔 Just a thought - could any of the electronics be sold 🧐
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 Your nap re-energised you 😊 I hope you & OH managed to find the missing present 🤞 Shame about the cardigan 😔 although it sounds like the bin was the best place for it 😉 I really hope you didn’t have to queue too long at the P.O. 🙏
Wednesday2000, sounds like a lovely weekend 😊 I have only ever seen Die Hard on a tv screen so it must be quite something to see it on a big screen 😉 Sending lots of positive healing thoughts that your bad hip eases 🤞 Good luck with cable tidying 🍀
EnergyShifter, the concert sounds wonderful 😊 Perhaps you could consider one of those ‘light boxes’ as it sounds like you might be suffering from S.A.D. 🤔 Re the floating bedside tables, one advantage is that they don’t need to be moved when vacuuming 😉 Very pleased to hear that the bathroom renovations should be completed by the end of the week 👏
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 & well done putting up pictures 😊 I see you are almost at your target - just 22 to go 🥳 Sorry to hear that your ankle is playing up 😔 please rest your ankle as much as possible 🙏
I have caught up a little more but am flagging - not surprising really as it is gone 04:00 😉 Good night everyone 💤
P.S. vulpix I have PM’d you 🙂

Just checking in - see I have 69 posts to catch up on. Interesting trip for our (DD and myself) December mini break but unfortunately I decluttered my phone (only 2 weeks old) to a pickpocket and my bankcard was in case. Currently trying to sort out the mess that has resulted from this. Insurance easier to deal with than banks. Catch up later.2025 Decluttering Campaign 697/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Good morning my fellow declutterati. Wednesday is dark even at 09:00 😞 I am up & dressed although not quite raring to go, although I am sure my first cuppa will help 😉 So straight into cheerleading
Liverpool_Anne, you had a busy Monday 👏 so I am pleased to see that you did manage to post your Christmas cards 🙂 I hope you managed to locate the missing car park ticket before you needed to pay the fine 🤞🤞 Still stunned at how ‘foolishly/dangerously’ the key holder reacted to a request to pop in & see the elderly neighbour 😔 Your reaction “I was flabbergasted and furious about the key lady and said I would have gone in” is quite a polite one 😔 I truly hope that the gentleman’s brother & sil take you up on your offer to become the new key holder 🙏
London_1, sorry to hear that you’re nasty cold developed more over the weekend 😔 Hopefully you have turned a corner & the cold will now start to go away 🤞 I hope it didn’t mar your Tuesday jaunt 🙏 That hot chocolate with marshmallows & whipped cream sounds sooooo delicious 😋 What a very generous act & how flattering to be offered payment 😊 I think we might have to give you a new name 🤔 how does ‘Global Granny’ sound 😉 How lovely to see your great granddaughter on video 😊 & it sounds like she will soon be having conversations with you 😉
Well said Wednesday2000 👏 Hope the blood test went well & that you were able to get your cup of tea soon after 🤞 Great decluttering 👏
2Scratters, I agree 😊 Fingers crossed that there is a new shed gracing the back garden 🤞
Siebrie, thank you for sharing such a personal family story 👏 Alarm bracelets are such a wonderful invention 🙂 especially as it would seem that they are also water resistant 😯
Well that has been 2 x 23 minute sessions so I will post this, make a 2nd cuppa & continue writing Christmas cards. Will be back later 👋

I was about to use the toilet (sorry to be indelicate....) and when I dropped my drawers a heard a click which was my expensive earring back hitting the floor. Somehow it had migrated down into (I guess) by knickers. Whatever! I'm happy.
@Brie This made me laugh! It also took me back when a friend who had been on a night out had lost an expensive and very heavy gold bracelet her parents had bought her for her 21st birthday. She was very upset. The morning though brought sunshine to her too as it had ended up in her knickers too! You are forgiven and the backing fastener would be a lot smaller and lighter than hers

helloooThats the working week done for me. And DD has finished for xmas so no driving back and forth for lessons, so I might actually get some housework done. Except, when I think about it I have we have a hospital visit with DH tomorrow and then Friday Im collecting DS1 + the girly for xmas and to pick up all his stuff as he's given up on uni. Such a shame, it doenst feel like he gave it much of a chance. But the girly wants to carry on and I really hope they do. However it will be nice to have them home for a while. No idea what DS1 will do, he will have to try and get some sort of job and then can begin to work out what he wants to with his life!!Siebre ~ I am so impressed with your training the girls to cook, marvelous life skills. Mine arent too bad, but youngest (15) is very reluctant to cook ~ something I am definetly going to work on in 2024. Plus I need to work on gluten free meals ~ thats my main challenge next year!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025
