Hello all, it's baltic here and we have freezing fog on top of the already frozen cars. Hope everyone is keeping well and warm.
Today I am disposing of a sandwich maker because the air fryer does a far better job, then this afternoon I shall declutter some hair, and money, in a joint hairdressing appointment with DD. I'm looking forward to that as I've got that shaggy sheepdog look going on at the moment.
MrsSD you made me chuckle with your mojo on hols in the Caribbean, think mine is on a world cruise ! Sorry no chance of a photo as I'm technically challenged but I would just love a simply decorated tree and a fireplace garland with twinkly lights, no extra Santas, with or without sleighs/sacks, Elves, Reindeers or light up books and houses, plus extra strings of lights which cover every surface in the living room and are overflowing into the dining room 😲 That said DH loves Xmas so I go with it to make him happy, he deserves it for putting up with me !
Flower Pot I'm glad you are on the mend and the new dentist has done a good job. Hope your family illnesses get sorted asap. Hugs
London 1 exciting times lay ahead for you. Hope the move goes smoothly.
Take care all

3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc

Wishing you a good Saturday morning from a chilly Isle of Dogs 🥶 0C forecast to rise to a balmy 1C 😉 I have my first cuppa & have settled down to attempt a cheerleading catch-up 🤞
Wednesday2000, very pleased to hear that your ‘procedure’ went well 😥 Hopefully you are now fully recovered, although I would point out that the TLC Carriage is now fully stocked with festive treats 🙂 I hope you took it easy yesterday & if you did do some decluttering it was only the shoes & boots that were tackled 😉
vulpix, sounds like you are fully rested now after such a long sleep 😊 Hopefully all your cold symptoms are now gone & you can enjoy your weekend 🤞Please wrap up warm 🙏 Great decluttering 👏 & a lovely cheerleading post 😊 I will definitely have to co-opt you to the cheerleading squad 😉 A birthday hamper for your Mum 🥳 As it will be her 90th maybe a little tipple as well 😉😉
Excellent decluttering of food stocks London _1 👏 & I am very impressed at your MSE food shop 😊 I hope you enjoy your batch cooking today 🙂
daisy_1571, I think I have not only a few “No Place Tins” but also several “No Place boxes” & I suppose the Room of Doom should also count as a “No Place room” 😔 Thank you for MrSD’s birthday wishes 👏 I hope you are managing to stay warm in your lovely home 🙏
ruby_eskimo, perhaps you could send a little of your new found festive season enjoyment my way 😉 Remember to wrap up warm for the village tree lighting event 😉 & good luck getting DH to go with you 🍀
vulpix, presumably the last box you looked in & it was keeping all your Christmas baubles safely wrapped 😉 Typical - the Gremlins were working overtime 😉
daisy_1571, just wondering if acrylic paints dry out 🤔 Your mum might just have been hedging her bets or just treating herself when she bought another pack of acrylic paints 😉
Excellent work on the digital decluttering QueenJess 👏 As you say the benefits are not immediately obvious UNTIL you start looking for that ‘one photo’ 😊 You know the one - the family picture taken in your favourite place which brings the happy memories flooding back 😊 Definitely a weird day 😉 although from your comments I am rather pleased that your company weren’t on the ball in trying to keep you as an employee until After you resigned 😑 as you might have been tempted to stay 😥 Although it would be nice to think that another employee might get better treatment in the future 😉 I seriously doubt the PTB will learn anything 😔 Hope you have a lovely weekend 😊
That was 2 x 23 minutes so will post, make another cuppa & watch a bit of the new to me series I am watching now - “Undercover” with Adrian Lester.
Stay warm everyone & cwtches all round 🤗

Morning, just a quick post. I'm feeling a bit pants and teary at the minute.
Thursday evening DH went out for work, started the car, ran back in for the loo and when he went back out the car was completely dead. No idea whats wrong with it.
Tried to do some more in the conservatory yesterday but all the stuff DH has put in there us on top and I can't move anything. I did bring the huge pile of Christmas decorations tgat came from my grandparents 2 years ago out, really need to sort through what we want to keep. Some of the water filled ones have already gone when we got them as they were leaking.
I did do half hour in the girls room though.
Swept and mopped hallway ready for the shopping arring this morning and dog1 was sick on it in seconds. The week started so well too 🤣😆
2304-2305 200 emails deleted
2306 Fabric shelves
2307 Backpack with snapped strap
2308 Bin liner of rubbish from girls room
2309 Beaker granddaughter had chocolate milk in and it won't clean out of the straw

Phenomenal luck later yesterday when I was about to use the toilet (sorry to be indelicate....) and when I dropped my drawers a heard a click which was my expensive earring back hitting the floor. Somehow it had migrated down into (I guess) by knickers. Whatever! I'm happy.

Well done Moorviews, you will feel the benefit of not having big pieces of furniture in your way.
Oh, goodness flowers you lot have been through the mill. Enjoy your new found festive spirit. Here's hoping you all have a better new year.
Too little too late Queen jess from your current employers, Nice to know though that they finally realise your worth. you will be a high flyer in your new job, Enjoy,
Apart from sleeping 13 hours I fell asleep yesterday afternoon for a couple more, then slept 10 hours last night. My cold is all but gone. I am not looking forward to going outside to work. Minus 5 atm. A brisk walk to the cave will kill or cure me, Sadly as it is the first concert of the season Mr V wants to go even earlier than usual, 2 hours early.

Checked mort and will save £20 a month on interest so far, so all heading in the right direction, hopefully will be able to make good O/P this month by doing my daily payments again.TheMillions ~ thats a fabulous amount to be saving on interest, well done, all the little payments add up. I did to get back on it!London_1 said:Flower Pot I feel your pain I too have a mouthful of stitches from last Mondays dental appointment I too went private as although in dreadful pain I was told three weeks before I could see my NHS dentist. I phoned my DDs dentist at 08.30 on Monday morning saw the emergency dentist at the practice at 10.00 Xray done and returned at 3.30 to see the dental surgeon who removed the back tooth that had crumbled in the gum at the root not a pleasant hour but pain free now just a bit swollen and lots of soft food and painkillers so getting better by the day. Toothache is the worse pain in the world I think so although expensive it was worth every penny and the darned thing will never hurt again as it did last Sunday. Onwards and upwards honey. Soup and ice cream seems to be working well at the moment 🤣🤣🤣🤣 JackieO xx
Thank you London1 ~ funny how when you go to a private dentist they can fit you so fast!! But like you it was money well spent as toothache is horendous and the trigeminal nerve pain I had was off the scale bad. Soup HM was on the menu for lunch stupidly tried to eat some crisps with it!!

I was happy to go in to take training or when it made sense, but they were inflexible. I warned them I will leave over this as it just doesn't work for me and they did nothing. Now I am leaving they can suddenly let me work from home 100%. Anyway, they can't make me a better offer than I already have with the new role. However, I will be doing consulting type work, so I could charge myself back to themTaking a weekend break from the digital decluttering and challenged DS to find 10 things in his room to get rid of. Some of them have simply been rehomed, but I figure anything is a plus. Will be doing the same thing tomorrow to try and control stuff before Xmas arrives. I also played along and found 10 of my own things to get rid of, which meant I sorted out loads of the houseplants that are lying around. More to do, but relieved a big pile are sorted already. Other than that, I am tidying up this weekend and picking off a few jobs. I tried to sort out the massive pile of puzzles (and 2 are going), but they still don't all fit in the cupboards. May tackle them again tomorrow and see if I can arrange them better to fit in.38,409 - bathroom supplies used up

I actually feel fine today. I looked at my uncomfy boots and they are in too much of a bad condition to donate. They will have to go.
Looking through my footwear reminded me of my chazzer shop Kangol wellies. I wore them out to the shop earlier as I thought it might be icy as it feels much colder than yesterday, even though it didn't snow last night.
I did manage to do a load of laundry and rearrange a blood test online so it will be on the 12th instead of the 22nd December.
I am watching a xmas film called Family Switch which is like Freaky Friday. I am having a glass of wine. Oh yes, I did throw away some teabags that I have totally gone off. There were only a few left, luckily.

Hi everyone! This week has gone Zoom! Can’t believe it’s already the 2nd and I haven’t touched my advent calendar yet …… that could change tomorrow! Hubby bought the dogs a doggies advent calendar to share and they haven’t had any either….but as they can’t count or read won’t realise they are missing out!
Drumroll please….after Mondays complete disaster of a Christmas shopping day I used that well known on line store and the shop with a B and an M and apart from one card - have finished!!!!!! Now having to keep little cold wet noses out of the present bag as dog2 spotted a ball shaped toy.. he now thinks every box or bag entering the house contains something for him 😜 Dog1 doesn’t really care 🤣
so as I have been mad cleaning the area in which the tree goes in the living room I have been decluttering so today this lot got flown:
a wierd back roller massage thing
2 broken pencils
a wicker basket that sheds more than a moulting dog
several cardboard boxes
some bits that were just in case
skirting board dust
a handy pink gift bag that showers everything with pink glitter (I hate pink)
That’s about it. Usually I shuffle things round, put up the deccies….and that’s it! So feeling very proud today 😊

I spent the afternoon watching all the episodes of “Undercover” whilst continuing to knit another scarf. I was hooked but also rather depressed at the ending 😔 Yet more corruption in high places 😔 Since finishing I have stripped the bed, turned the mattress & put on new bedding + done all the prepping for tonight’s dinner & dealt with today’s mail. DH has had a bath & DSis has spent the entire day in her room. Now another double session of cheerleading beckons 🙂
Brie 👏 such a shame about the new bras 😔 but hopefully someone else will be able to cope with the double seam 🤞 I am keeping everything crossed that the back off the earring will put in an appearance 🤞🙏🤞
Well said Floss 👏 Hopefully QueenJess’s soon to be ex-employer will take note going forward with other employees 🤞 but sadly I doubt it 😔
Excellent decluttering yesterday short_bird 👏 I especially like the t-shirts being turned into beanies 🤩 Your friend is very talented 😌Great response to Floss’s comment 🙂
Wow we have reached 800 pages on the decluttering thread 🤩 The declutterati are breaking all records this year 🥳
weenancy, that was all you needed - a broken toilet 😔 I see it was left to you to get it working again …….. as usual your roommates didn’t lend a hand or offer to deal with it themselves 😖 just preferred to whinge & moan 😾 Pleased to hear that the pool person finally turned up & husky got to come indoors for a while 🙂 I hope she has stopped ‘helping’ you with the decluttering 😉 Shame about the heater in the pool being broken but at least it has helped keep the husky cool during the summer months 😮💨 Very organised of you to start filling in next years calendar 👏 I am surprised that you can get a calendar big enough to list all the appointments for 5 or 6 people 😳 I am also rather pleased to hear that your remaining feral cat is still about & being rewarded for his efforts in keeping the mouse population down 😊 Sounds like word has spread if you now have a couple more feral cats visiting 😉 I prefer your heatwave temperatures 😉 ours are only going to reach 10C by the end of the week 😅 Sadly we don’t appear to be so well organised here with the re-use of eye glasses 😔
Thanks for the information London_1 👏 The last time I was in a larger Boots opticians I was told there was no facility for recycling glasses 🤔 Oh well, I will try again next year 😉 Shame about having to declutter some of your herbs & spices 😔 I hope the mammoth batch cooking session went well & that you now have a freezer full of food to get you through January 🤞Good luck with the house hunting on the IoW 🍀 I am getting very excited for you 😝 Happy Birthday to your eldest DD 🎂
Thanks for DH’s birthday wishes Moorviews 😊 Excellent decluttering Moorviews 👏 Large furniture & books, CDs, DVDs & even huge piles of journals & paperwork 🤩 All that hard work merits a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way 🙂 It might be hard work persuading MrMV of the wisdom of decluttering but your perseverance is paying off - he at least recognises that it needs to be done 😂 I will keep everything crossed that he goes through his sock drawer sooner rather than later 🤞
~FlowerPot~, it so lovely to see you 👋 Sorry to hear that you are another member of the declutterati who has been having pain from their teeth 😫 Rather annoying that the NHS dentist was so useless 😠 but the very fortunate thing is that somehow you managed to fund a private dentist 😮💨 Toothache can make one feel so miserable & affects every aspect of one’s life 😔 so I am very pleased to hear that it has been sorted & you are now in a position to wean yourself off the painkillers 😰 Dr Hook is on a par with Igor but at least our Igor was an excellent dentist 👏 Just a shame that he sold his practice 😔 However DH has already seen his colleague & apparently she is not only very nice but just as good as Igor 😊 🤞Sorry to hear about your eldest giving up uni due to mental health issues 😔 However with your support & love I am hoping that he/she will recover their equilibrium 🙏 Keeping everything crossed that your DH soon recovers his sight 🤞 Now that Nasty November is out of the way, I am sending lots of positive vibes that you & your family have a Delightful December which continues into a Joyous January 😊 Good luck with the tidying & decluttering 🍀 Lots of cwtches coming your way 🤗
TheMillions, another successful day of 9 of 9 👏 You are almost at the end of your first week & are doing really well 👏😊 You have found a system that is working for you 😊 Excellent news about the reduced interest on your mortgage 🥳 Good luck with December O/Ps 🍀
Thanks QueenJess 😊
dND, thanks for the suggestion for Brie 😊
London_1, very pleased that you are now feeling a lot better after your visit to the dentist 😊 Hopefully the financial pain is easing too 😉
