Almost forgot - had a good hair cut and dog2 had a great groom. He now looks quite respectable! His groomer absolutely adores him and bribes him with treats…..judging from the way he’s been bouncing off the walls I think he had the entire bag….⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

I had a huge slow cooker of defrosted chicken turned into 8 delicious ready meal type curries portioned up in the rectangular boxes and cooled (not hard, popped them on the table in the conservatory which was really cold ) and stashed in my freezer.
I will do another batch next week and make a big pot of chicken provencal or chicken pasta bake and it will use up some more of the chicken I have in the freezer. These too will be portioned and frozen for January meals .
DD came bless her to pick up her presents and decluttered my vacuum of goodness knows how much dust its got an inside cylinder that I can never seem to remove or replace properly, and she's brilliant and has got the knack of doing it for me She also took it upstairs to my spare room for me as its the upstairs hoover (I have one down stairs and one up) As I'm still recovering from the last tummy op carrying anything heavier than a kettle is off limits at the moment.
She also took a big bag of Christmas baubles that I no longer need, and a long string of lights.
Last year i bought a pre-lit tree which was smaller and easier to erect as the other one had finally fallen apart from old age (I know the feeling )so she said she will either take them into work or find a good home for them.
Its quite satisfying this decluttering, and I'm actually enjoying it . One of my grandsons says he will happily have my computer desk from the study upstairs as It's also not needed. I got rid of my desktop computer, and just rely on my laptop now a lot simpler and uses less space. Tomorrow I shall tackle my spare room as I know I have a lot of stuff in there that can be black bagged for a tip run later next week .I can manage small black bbags of stuff on my lap on my stair-lift so it won't be too much trouble.
Blooming chilly tonight keep safe and warm chums

The train is rattling along at such a pace!.... belated happy birthday to Mr SD.
Congratulations @QueenJess
A warning to folk, I had a beautiful wool/ mohair coat that was my posh granny's from I think early 50s that my mum had. Not the right fit for me but I kept and couldn't give away and every few years took out to see if it now fits/suits. Even took to a CS and brought home. After the big push with my cousin a week ago, I've started to delve into cupboards -today took the coat out, only to find moths had been at it and still doesn't suit me. Have taken the lovely buttons off and is in bag for textile recyclingdecided the clothes protector bag had a hole so out, and another one also out, and 3 party type dresses dating from 5 - 40 years old (and the oldest was a vintage dress then) ready to sell/go to CS, unsubscribed from some things, and some items listed. Most will go to CS but giving some things a go to make some pennies, also more putting like with like - wrapping and packaging and fabrics. Towel for donation hub so 1947.

Well I posted a week ago and missed 76 messages apparently ! You are right @MrsSD - the EDT has not slowed up at all this year!
It's been a busy week. I worked 4 days instead of my usual 3 and really felt the difference. Had a PCC meeting, Christmas meal and this morning I was at my course. I spent this afternoon sleeping on the sofa. I'm so happy that I have a week off next week. Roofers are in on Monday but other than that I don't have too many plans.

nannywindow, at least the shaggy sheepdog look would provide extra warmth for your head 😉 If I were to put up Christmas decorations your style would get my vote 😊 I think my mojo considered a cruise but is not so adventurous as your mojo & decided to stay in one place 🤣 My issue is that ‘mojo’ hasn’t even sent me a postcard 😉
charlies_tribe, sorry to hear that your day started so badly 😔 no wonder you are feeling teary & pants 🙁 Hopefully the car repair will be relatively cheap 🤞Well done on picking yourself up & getting not only some decluttering done but also some tidying 👏 Fingers crossed that DH will help you tackle the conservatory in the next week 🤞
Brie, what a stroke of luck 🍀 & doubly so because it missed the water 😮💨 Hopefully your luck will continue & you will find your presents easily & at MSE prices 🤞
vulpix, another lovely cheerleading post 😊 Pleased to hear that your marathon sleeps have all but knocked your cold on the head 😊 Hopefully you wrapped up warm & are feeling no ill effects from your time out in the cold 🥶
Lovely post ~FlowerPot~ 😊 Thank goodness the dentist visit was successful 😮💨 The pain sounds horrendous 😫
QueenJess, serves them right if you go back to do some consulting work & can charge top price 😉 Well done on taking a breather from the digital decluttering 😊 It sounds like you and DS are making great progress on the physical decluttering 👏 Fingers crossed that you can release a couple more puzzles & that the remaining puzzles will fit comfortably in their designated cupboard 🤞
Pleased to hear that you felt better on Saturday Wednesday2000 😊 Shame about the uncomfy boots not being fit to donate 😔 although hopefully you found a few pairs to donate whilst you were sorting through the rest of your shoe/boot collection 🤞Well done on rearranging your blood test 👏
Muddy_Walker, I agree that the week has zoomed by 😦 I am a bit of a Grinch when it comes to Christmas so I am hoping that the next couple of weeks also zoom by & we can start 2024 on a high note 😉 Great work getting all your Christmas shopping done & excellent decluttering & tidying 👏 You should definitely be proud of yourself 😊 I hope dog2 hasn’t done any unintentional decluttering whilst bouncing off the walls 🤞
London_1, you have been busy 🤩 Putting me to shame with your decluttering efforts 😔 Sounds like your DD is a whizz at cleaning out the vacuum cleaner 👏 I might have to hire her to sort out my 2 vacuum cleaners 😉 Rather pleased to hear that you are finding decluttering not only satisfying but that you are also enjoying the process 🥳 Belated Happy Birthday to your DD 🎂
TC77, thanks for MrSD’s birthday greetings 😊 The EDT has barely slowed down all year & several of our declutterati have had a very successful year 🥳 Such a shame about the coat 😔 although I would like to thank you for the reminder to be brave when decluttering 😉 Good luck with the sales - hopefully you can earn lots of pennies 🍀 Only 76 to go 👏
EnergyShifter, no wonder you felt the effects - you increased your working week by 33.3% 😥 Hope you enjoy your week off & that the roofers do a quick & efficient job 😊 Great decluttering - now exactly 3 out to 1 in 👏 Thank you for the flowers 💐

Vulpix, that looks quite magical!
Trying to remember those in maintenance mode saying how much easier their homes are to look after and keeping in mind, as I have to move something to get to another. even if I got rid of 75% of things I would not be minimalist!

I won £30 on the lotto and I only started playing two weeks ago. I could have done with more money to be fair.😆
I went out to the shop and it isn't as cold as yesterday. It is raining, but at least we don't have snow.
I got back and tackled the kitchen. Last night I moved the two living rooms back to how they had been before. I really don't have a lot of stuff so it only took one listen of Taylor Swifts Midnights album on my phone to rearrange the kitchen cupboards. I had a glass of red wine while I did it.🤩
I have a pen holder to donate at some point so I will put it away until I have a bag made up. I am using up half a jar of pickles today. I also found a tin of pineapple and a huge packet of red lentils I forgot I bought.
I have taken my kindle upstairs from my junk drawer to put with the rest of my paper, pens etc...I also have quite a few plastic storage boxes free now so they can go on top of the wardrobe with the other spare ones.

OH has formulated a cunning plan. Furniture for the front (guest) bedroom has been ordered so that means the room needs to be cleared before it arrives. His line is that as nothing is being delivered until the end of February we have 3 months. I need to remind him that all the fitting and appliances for the kitchen are being delivered the first week of January so in fact it needs to be cleared by the end of this month as that will be the only place to store it all.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
