Thursday has been cold, cold, cold even with the sunshine 🥶. I wrote a shopping list & DH headed off to the sm at 14:00. The sum total of my activity was to put away the shopping, cook dinner (pork steaks, mash & cabbage) & wudupa. The rest of my day was spent wrapped up warm watching two 4 part serials - “One of Us” & “What Remains” both excellent viewing (although rather grim) especially the latter. Another frosty night -1C & because I have just woken up on the sofa, I am off to bed & will cheerlead tomorrow.
2387 - 2389 Kitchen recycling, glass jar, drinks cans - recycled
2390 Kitchen detritus binned
Sleep tight everyone 😴
P.S. Finished another scarf 🙂

Hope Mr. S_D had a great birthday.
Yesterday was a quiet day for the most part. Di's minister did come by with two large boxes of food from the church food bank. I took one box next door. Just too much food sometimes. Today we got another box of fruits and vegetables delivered. Don't have to worry about running out of food for awhile.
The best part of yesterday was the man who is thinking of providing the husky with a home came by with his granddaughter and they took her out for a long walk, where she behaved herself beautifully. Next they are going to try taking her to a dog park to see how she does with other dogs. It will be a first for her. She will be three in two weeks. I hoping for the best for her.
Today three of us went for blood tests. We all had referrals, so we decided to go together and then have breakfast out followed by running errands. But we only got the blood tests done and the breakfast, and the other two just wanted to go home and go back to bed. Had to get Di up after a few hours as she had a podiatrist appointment - she may have torn a tendon in her ankle. More tests coming up. She and I have appointments with the same neurologist coming up too. I spent the rest of the time doing family history.
The pool man missed coming on Tuesday and is coming tomorrow instead, so I will be staying in with the husky for a few hours.
I am just thankful we have made it through November. December is going to be a tough month for everyone here - but so far it looks like we may still be warm (hot?). It is supposed to be 28C next Tuesday and Wednesday! Last night the heat came on for twenty minutes. I am going to turn it back off for awhile yet. Promised rain didn't happen this week either.19 -

Really happy at the mort O/P, this months extra adds up to £2536.00, just waiting for the system to be updated to see how much interest will be added based on the new balance (hopefully its coming down!) I have been doing daily payments, and any extra coming in (like topcashback payment, interest from other accounts, decluttered sales etc has all been paid over)
Thanks for the suggestion @ruby_eskimo I will have a look at those, thank you
@vulpix how do you find long term low carb, I have done really well for the past 6 months but recently find I am struggling with being hungry (although not given in), maybe its the cold, or because I am down to my goal weight? I still restrict my daily carb numbers.
Have a fun Friday everyone!

Today I am going to my local opticians as my friend said they take your old glasses.I have found 7 pairs of glasses that over the years have sat in drawers unused and unneeded so what they do to recycle them I'm not sure but at least they won't go to landfill.
I also will be dropping some books off at the charity shop, mainly cookery books that I seem to have accumulated as well.
I do try to find a home for things and not at the local tip as I like the idea of someone getting a use out of stuff I no longer need
Its a bitter cold morning here, so I've layered up to keep as warm as I can. Luckily I live about a five minute walk from the small precinct of shops so I can be over there and back in less than half an hour
I will look like Nanook of the North when I go out but I'm not bothered its better than being cold
Onwards and upwards chums

Morning all. Managed to finish the carpet in one bedroom last night, last one will be this evening in between putting the Christmas tree up and making dinner. As we have to move some furniture around to accommodate said tree, it will give me a chance to do a little deep cleaning in the living room and tick another job off the list. I also must remember to take a photo before we start moving stuff as we can never work out how things need to go back after Christmas and spend the rest of the year thinking things look "off" 🤣.
Might have to pop out after work to pick up a birthday card for a friend we're seeing tomorrow. I have some cards here in case of emergency but not sure if any of them are right for her. Will also pick up some stamps whilst out so I can post the rest of the Christmas cards next week (once I've written them over the weekend).

Quick post and then I need to get on.
Half of kitchen cleaned yesterday and space made for Christmas food. I think my microwave is beyond cleaning. Good shop at Mr S as I had vouchers etc and got £60 worth for £20. I need some more trousers for my trip away but have managed to get two new tops at sale prices. Small people up very early (5.30) to see if elves had returned. Actually older one had set it all up for her younger brother this morning. I need to spend time on emails as there are several that need actioning or answering. Need to warm up after school run and do November banking first. I got state pension today so this is the month I get two as there will be one on 29th as well. DGS4 put some Christmas things around the house last night which made him happy. I haven't bought my tree yet so have boxes of stuff in bedroom which he turned out all over bed as soon as he spotted it.
1767 Most of kitchen cleaned
1768 Cupboards rearranged to make space for Christmas food
1769 Bought rest of stuff for DD's stocking to take with me next week.
1770 Last of Christmas cards written, stamps purchased for all, overseas cards sent. I will post the UK ones before I go away

Hello everyone, I've been in and out the TLC carriage so much it must have revolving doors !
I wrote most of my xmas cards yesterday but now I'll have to buy another one that's suitable for late DN's family, the one I have is far too jolly 🤔. I'll post the ones that need to go across the country this week, then hand deliver as many local ones as possible.
I have put away the washing I did yesterday and stripped the bed, the bedding is now whirling about in the wm, there's zero chance of hanging it out as even though the sun is out it's bitterly cold. Later I will make the bed and get the xmas decorations/tree out of their hidey holes ready to put up. The amount that gets used diminishes every year because DD has two children of her own and they are now in secondary school, so vanished is the Santa's Grotto look that DH still loves and I'm now moving towards the elegant look I've always wanted 😁
Lately lots of delivery boxes have been flattened and put in the recycling bag and a heavy waffle pan has gone into the cs bag. It was only used once even though DH thought it would be a invaluable addition to all the other pots and pans 🙄
I'm sorry I can't remember anyone's news except Queen Jess. congrats on the new job. Hugs to anyone in need.
Take care all

Friday is a duller day but warmer & set to reach the dizzying heights of 4C 😉 I am snuggled in my dressing gown & on my 2nd cuppa so thought I would catch up with some cheerleading 😉
Excellent work TheMillions 👏 Day 4 & already your first 9 of 9 🤩 Well done on resisting the temptation to eat chocolate - I am very impressed with your willpower 👏 Hope you had a great Thursday 😊
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Hope you managed to take advantage of the extra Nectar points 🤞
London_1, loving the conversation about ‘junk drawers’ 🙂 I have several where I put things away quickly just to clear surfaces 😉 About every 4 months or so I try to spend some time decluttering each drawer 😔
QueenJess, just goes to show how organised you are 👏 😊
ruby_eskimo, thanks for the info about Buffalo 👏 & it sounds like the cinnamon rolls are the best reason to visit 😉 Lovely cheerleading post 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 & good luck with the baking 🍀 I do love hm bread 🤤
vulpix, sounds like you have had a busy couple of days 👏 So just the curtains to get & your renovation is complete 🥳 I did smile at “ I don't have a junk drawer but I do put things like elastic bands in the cutlery drawer for a few weeks before I throw them away. Hahaha” as it sounded so familiar 😂 I am finally managing to wean myself away from that particular practice 😉 Hope your hm soup warmed you up 😊
charlies_tribe, good luck with the new shed 🍀 Hopefully there will be enough room to stow a box with the contents of all the junk drawers 😉 Excellent work in the conservatory & yippee to getting the finances sorted in time 👏
Wednesday2000, hopefully taking your time to explore the Ramsgate/Margate area will mean that you will find your dream home & make a new friend 🤞Great work sorting out your 2 kitchen junk drawers 👏 Hope today’s hospital appointment goes well 🙏
carolbee, Dreamland looks interesting - had a Quick Look & noticed that Status Quo are playing for one night only next year 😊 Also checked out Quex Park - certainly a lot going on there too 🤩
D123456789, just goes to show how busy RL has been 😥 Excellent work keeping your tidying & decluttering habits going 👏 especially as you have kept the house “passable if unexpected visitors arrive! “ 🥳 Perhaps you can get LO to persuade your DH to donate a few of his spare coats 😉 which might prompt her to thin out the contents of her ‘treasure chests’ 😊
Sounds like you had a lovely time Wednesday2000 😊
Siebrie what a marvellous way to teach music 😊 It sounds like DD2 is not only enjoying it but is exactly where she needs to be to thrive & pursue her talents 🤩 No wonder you are so proud 🥹
QueenJess, I rather admire your system though I must admit to being rather long in the tooth to change now from ‘cluttered & untidy drawers’ to cluttered floors 🤣 I can see it must be a tad fraught that your DH has not embraced the same system 😉😧 Your comment “On the plus side, I can see everything that needs to be sorted easily. On the downside I can see everything that needs to be sorted 😆” had me in stitches 😂
Well said daisy_1571 👏 I think perhaps the reason we call it a ‘junk drawer’ is to remind ourselves to check the contents frequently 😉 whereas other descriptions might cause us to adopt ‘the out of sight, out of mind philosophy’ 🤨
Wow QueenJess, stupendous decluttering 👏 I can see you are determined to hit 40,000 by the end of the year 🥳
I have managed to catch up a little 🙂

The procedure at the hospital went well today, although not the most pleasant experience I have ever had! The cervical polyp had disappeared since my ultrasound so I obviously didn't need to get it removed and it only lasted about 15 minutes, thankfully. I looked online beforehand and apparently 35% of women have severe pain with this procedure, but I was one of the lucky ones! I was talking to the woman working in the pharmacy yesterday and she said her friend had it done about a month ago and she had a lot of pain. It was like a more uncomfortable version of a cervical smear for me. I am glad the appointment came up so quickly (I was only told about it this past Tuesday) so I didn't have too much time to dwell on it before I had it done.
I did take two lots of ibuprofen and a CBD drink before I went in which probably relaxed me.I really notice the CBD can hit me quickly if I have it in the morning without eating much and I only had some fruit before I left home.
I am going to take it easy today, but I might do some decluttering this afternoon as I feel fine. I might go through my boots and trainers as I wore a pair of winter boots the other day after not wearing them for a year and they felt very uncomfortable. I will see if the soles are good enough for them to be donated.

Hi,I have just woken from a 13 hour sleep. I started with a grim cold yesterday and feel much better today.
I am back at work at the cave throughout December. First day tomorrow and there is snow forecast. It will be lovely if it snows. Being high altitude , we often get snow and the council are well equipped to deal with it.During December in the cave they hold brass band Christmas carol concerts which are lovely and very popular. The cave is decorated and so is the village, proper festive, 650 people singing and a brass band. Mr V compares it. I will be on mulled wine and mince pie duties.
Siebrie, what a fabulous experience for your daughter,it sounds like an extremely solid grounding in music. I know you are Dutch but what is your DD's first language?
Junk drawers, when my kids were young they had a "no place tin" which we sorted occasionally. When ever I found a lego mans arm or a Barbie shoe in it went to wait to be re homed.
Fingers crossed for the husky Weenancy. She would love the weather here at the moment. We have been down to minus 4 over night and are now enjoying -1. I do hope she remembers her manners at the dog park, and hope she isn't overcome with excitement.
Mr V is outside spray painting a curtain pole white, yes! using stuff up. The pole was repurposed for over the front door. The paint I over bought to spray the garden furniture.
The millions,if I am starving I have a slice of toast and baked beans or a banana on toast. I feel much more energetic and clear headed without heavily processed food and have eaten this way for about 30 years. Occasionally for whatever reason I stop and pile on weight very quickly.Horses for courses, it suits me and I don't feel deprived at all. I was vegetarian for many years but now I am vegan. I cook most food from scratch. I love bread and always have 1 slice per day. Luxury.haha. I used to make bread every day when the kids were young but now they are grown and flown, I don't make it anymore as I would just eat it until it was finished.
new numbers include 4 pairs of curtains and some more clothes, taken to the chazzer yesterday. total 1425
I have started buying foods for a hamper for my Mum's birthday which is 6th January. All the things she likes, pickles, jams, chutneys. She loves Christmas pudding, cake and mince pies and I always get them after Christmas reduced. She will be 90 this next birthday and is still as sharp as a knife.
