I just had a GP appointment and it is quite chilly, but really bright and sunny here.
I saw that Location, Location, Location tonight is about Margate and Broadstairs so I am going to be watching that with interest as that is we were want to move to.
I realised I had seen that episode of Location before! It was last year, in fact, but I wasn't thinking of moving then. Ramsgate by the harbour looked quite nice so I am going to look at all three areas. I recognised the estate agent window the couple in Broadstairs looked in as we looked in when we were there at the start of November this year.
We might be moving in 2025 rather than next year so we will take our time to explore.14 -
DD2 (12) has singing lessons at the music academy in Vilvoorde (North of Brussels). It's a very serious programme: all students have 2 hours of 'music theory' per week for the first 2 years. Only after 6 months of theory can they choose an instrument, which they then get taught 1 hour per week for 9 years. It's very classical: they learn all sorts of music, proper breathing, proper posture, languages (so far in 1 year, she has sung in Dutch, English, German and French), solo, duets, quartets, there is 2 years of youth choir in her 4th and 5th years, then a grown-up choir in her last year. Anyway, there was an 'exhibition night' last Tuesday and she did very well. Re: the junk drawers, I think it's because I live in an odd world where everything should be organised and combined together in categories. What that means in practice is that cupboards/shelves etc are perfectly organised, but if it has no home or needs to be sorted it is strewn around the place. DH can't get his head around perfectly organised cupboards with a messy floor and on the other side I hate it when he just rams random things into cupboards and calls it "tidying". How is it tidying if that isn't the place it is meant to live and no one can find it?On the plus side, I can see everything that needs to be sorted easily. On the downside I can see everything that needs to be sorted2025 decluttering: 3,925🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Just popping in.
Don't call it the junk drawer queenjess. Its the useful stuff, the random stuff, the tool drawer etc. All the things a house needs but there's not enough of to fill a drawer on its own. That gets stuff off the floor and into its correct place.
Siebre well done to dd, sounds like she is in the right place for her interests and talents

Well I have no idea where today's energy has come from! Started in the conservatory was trying to move things but the things from the overflowing art drawers were everywhere so sorted the 2 big drawers first, most not used since lockdown. 1 drawer now empty. Top 2 drawers are all pens/pencils/markers so will set the girls on testing them tomorrow.
DS1 came home early so asked him to fetch DS2 from college and I spent half hour cleaning the bathroom then I swept through the lounge as the dogs are moulting like crazy. Almost caught up on all the washing so will start going through DD3s things at the weekend and get it all back in her wardrobe.

My junk drawer in the kitchen. Useful stuff, as Daisy said, but not enough of anything to warrant it's own drawer. The tins contain small things like buttons or tacks.
I had to resist the urge to tidy it first.

Wow to Siebre's daughter.. I so wish that sort of thing had been available when I was a younger person. What a brilliant scheme.
In the process of declutterring loads of junk/rubbish etc from our community library. We have had a substantial grant to refurbish the interior with new shelving etc, but we will have to empty the building out completely in January to replace it all. So, at the moment I am going through all the things we can do without ( and lots of accumulated rubbish). Some of the shelving and children's furniture is going to the local primary school. After that we shall probably give to whoever wants it for a donation.
Currently getting quotes for electrical and plumbing works required for the refurbishment. A slow process but will be worthwhile.

Popping is to report a busy week.
Got a few frogs done Monday, including the BiL bill partially dealt with. He needs to send me the reciepts for any money he has paid in to his utility company now as it hasn't been registering.
A large bag of books gone to the garden centre yesterday and a bag of online sales out to the post offfice. A box has been emptied so I am very pleased.
As for books. I realised that one of my local National Trust properties has a secondhand booksjhop. I still have approximately 12 bags of books sorted to go so I am going to ring them. They are shut until the 16th of December but I know people will be working there anyway.
I have three days of childcare so not much else will be done for a little while.
I am glad the carpets are finally done @vulpix It must have seemed like it has taken forever but this renivation has only took a few years really.
Nice cake @Mrs_Salad_DodgerI hope MRSD enjoyed it.
