Not a particularly satisfying bit of decluttering because we are back on dealing with stuff in the desk. It’s incredibly slow as obviously we thought everything was worth putting in there in the first place. Some stationery almost qualifies as ancient artefacts (air mail letters!) and other things I do not even know what they were for. Decisions to be made about sentimental bits and pieces too which I always find difficult. A lot of copper coins have been counted out and bagged up ready to go to the bank; I am not even sure if they still take them. It’s reassuring that I shall not need to buy any envelopes for a very long time too.
I am sorting out drawers elsewhere to accommodate the items that we decide to keep but of course they needed to be emptied and sorted through first. It just goes to show that reducing storage by removing a piece of furniture has its complications!
@EnergyShifter - the fatigue and brain fog from Covid is quite something I agree. Glad that you are feeling better now but sorry to hear that you have had sad news regarding your friends.Mrs SD - your meals always sound very tasty and make me feel hungry 😋 Well done for dealing with all that paperwork too 👏
Congratulations on getting your tax return done TC77 and Rootle on making some money on your books.Vulpix - I wish I had your energy for renovations!13 -
@Moorviews - I don't know if you have any dealers available, but I took a lot of loose change to a coin dealer who bought some of it from me. A lot of charities also take loose coins as they can sell them to collectors. I know Oxfam used to package up coins to sell to collectors.13

Good evening. Love, hugs and congratulations to all who need them.
I'm not doing very well at this decluttering in the second half of the year. The state of the house is driving me insane, its really affecting my mental health but we just seem to have no time at all at the minute, DD2 has her dance show in 2 weeks and that's taking up a huge chunk of time at the minute with 7 rehearsals this last week (10 miles each way so easier to wait for her to finish)
This week I've started clearing tge girls room in half hour bursts. I've got a bag of rubbish and some bits to add to the list once they've left the house. DD3's wardrobe absolutely stinks so I've emptied the whole lot into the wash and detailed the inside of the wardrobe but I think the smell is coming from the fabric shelves we put in recently (ones you slide onto the hanging rail) so they've been sprayed with fabric spray. DD3 says most of tge clothes don't fit her anyway so we will sort through it as it goes back.
Listed some bits on free site from conservatory, they were supposed to be being collected Friday but still here. Not sure if to message and see if she still wants them or just offer to the next person that asked as just want it gone.
Right, off for some dinner, I will try harder over the last few weeks of the year.

Welcome @TheMillions
Ooooh @Mrs_Salad_Dodger I reckon 162 weeks to husbands retirement as his birthday is in January. That is he is willing to give up the rat race. If not I may have to go travelling alone.
1 x in and out bag to DGD 4 plus some bits I found for her around the house.
Had a crazy weekend. Went hedge clearing and laying yesterday at the local church. This is the second time this month. We used to run a conservation group. We laid that hedge when I was having chemo 7 years ago. It has filled out, grown up and looks good. It was just more of a tidy really. Some old friends turned up. I was totally shattered at the end.
Sister and BiL also turned up. We didn't even know they were down. BiL said he wasn't coming as he had fallen and hurt his back.
Today they have seen all their grandchildren and we have had the parents in law, them and DS3 to tea. BiL has presented us with a letter saying he owes the utility firm over £1000 None of his payments at the local shop have gone through and they slapped a bill of £670 on from years ago I am sure they paid.

@TC77 - you actually had Tupperware with matching lids? I'm impressed. I go around every night swearing under my breath (occasionally out loud) trying to find a lid that matches a bottom container.
Started another box for the library with books, DVDs, and puzzles in it ready to go tomorrow to our meeting of the Friends of the Library.
Cats are not helping - one threw up a fur ball on her mat. And the other threw up all over five boxes (fortunately all lidded) and the window sill. So spent most of the day trying to clean up. Right now I don't think I can go to bed yet as there are things waiting to be put away after the clean-up. By the way, I don't have a cat - these belong to roommates. But they aren't up early enough to take care of anything. May have a home for the husky - we will see how it goes and if she can live with the other two huskies. It would be nice if she could as the person can walk her and has space for her inside.
Did get the agenda done for the meeting, still need to print it off. Cleared out spam file and keeping my email at 5 unread.
Taking it easy other than cleaning up after pets today.15 -
oh,weenancy paws crossed for the husky. It would be a weight off your shoulders if you didn't have the responsibility for her. I admire your patience with your room mates. I would have a no more pets rule if I lived with people who bring animals home, they may like the idea of a pet and I agree they enhance lives but they just don't have the capacity for the routine that an animal needs. You have more than enough on your plate. I hope I don't speak out of turn, I just feel for you.xx
Welcome The Millions, you are off to a flying start.
Bit by bit, what an unexpected, eventful day. I hope you can get some time for some rest this week.x
Hugs to everyone else who is under the weather and or managing stuff.xx
Charlies_tribe, as for the non collection of things you are giving away, I just offer to the next person now or relist. If the person doesn't have the manners to contact you they don't deserve your goods.
Moorviews, all I do these days is pay people to do the work, I love a project, love property.
The bedroom is striped, good to go tomorrow.
I started a Christmas fabric patchwork lap quilt tonight. Usually I like to hand sew but I will get the sewing machine out for this. Using up the craft stash, yes!

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
I spent so much time napping in between watching ‘Crossing Lines’ that I never came back to finish the cheerleading 😉 The hm soup was tasty but not spicy enough. DH finished watching the last of the motorcycle races then came downstairs & made orange rock buns. He used slightly less milk so they didn’t slump quite so much as his previous efforts 👏
Delicious as usual 🤤 Dinner was risotto cakes. Wudupa. The only other thing I did, apart from 2 loads of LDFPA, was to descale the kettle.
2365 - 2366 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
2367 Kitchen detritus binned

Everything crossed here for husky weenancyinAmerica, thats almost a year since you were given the go ahead to rehome her so you have done really well trying to keep her safe and occupied all this time. Hopefully she will enjoy being with the other huskies, she 'should' since they are generally better with their own sort as they all enjoy the same energy etc, but you just never know about individual personalities.
Welcome TheMillions
Nice to see you back jackieo
