Not done any serious decluttering since january untill today. I always start with good intentions of decluttering and make a really good start and then fall off the wagon. Today I decided to have another bash and get as much clutter out of the house slowly but in time for Christmas, without getting overwelmed and running out of time. Usually Christmas is upon us and all my good intentions go to pot as I manically start shoving things back in cupboards as I don't have time to donate them. My week day off will be my main decluttering day (I work full time but one of my workdays is Saturday). I always do my food shop on my day off, and noticed recently a Salvation Army charity donation centre and shop has opened in the old bank site across the road from the supermarket enterance with parking, so I can donate items and then do the weekly shop, without making a separate trip!
So today I have binned a bin bag of rubbish, filled a carrier with books found a few bits to donate (all in my car boot to drop off next week), found some craft bits to take to church on Sunday and sorted through a pile of paperwork.
I have also found my hat and gloves, 2 unread books, and a warm winter jumper I bought last year in a bag with tag still on.
I was also looking for the prepaid visa card with £100 that I won in a work compatition and need to get activated, which I found in the paperwork pile along with an Amazon gift card from back last year which was from an incentive run by one of our lens suppliers at work(I had forgotten about this) again £100 and 3 M&S gift cards - I checked the balance on line £55 all together. So that's £255 when I was looking for £100, I feel like I've hit the jackpot!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. Everyone is so busy. I am sorry not to keep up with the thread at the moment. I have had a few days extra childcare and have also been working in the garden. Transported 10 bags of home made compost to the allotment today.
Also two bags of stuff to the CS and a bag of toys returned to DiL. The last bag from the big clean I did ages ago.(counting as an in and out)
I got them a heated airer 2nd hand from Gum tree the other day and they are amazed by it. DiL rang to say how much washing she had got dry today. So pleased as it was cheap and is costing them hardly anything in electricity. DS was putting on the heating to dry his work clothes.
Also this week. Did some cleaning at MiL. Pretty dire. MiL though it was ok but her eyesight is going quite badly now. Not one to do house work anyway. FiL sleeps upstairs but MiL doesn't go upstairs much now. A huge pile of wahsing in FiL room. Clearly they need more support so I am going to try and work out how to do that without killing myself. May get a firm in. They are ok with that.
So might not be in for a week or so again. Dh and I are going to have a little weekend away with DD and bf in the Peak Park. We are also going to see vulpix so even better.
DD had a bad week with all her department being put on paid leave as they restructure and outsource her work. She is applying for jobs and has an interview next week. It came out of the blue and she was quite shocked. Luckily Bf was there.I think she will be ok and it did mean she had time to spend with her BF before he goes back to canada.

@flamingo747 - I don't what to do with unwanted ones, but I keep the small packages of matches in a glass jar with a metal lid, in case we need them for candles or lighting the stove (gas but has an electric pilot light).10

Hi all, I have been a dirty stop out and got home quite late tonight. Very nice evening with ex colleagues, we were all sober as we were all driving but we had a good laugh just the same.
Today I finally got some things out of the house9 items to the cs, 80 plastic plant pots delivered, I will count as 8 as I did wash them all, currency ordered for dsis birthday present, meds collected and bathroom bin emptied.
OH was asked to pick up some milk today, I got home to find barely enough to make a cuppa so I will have to go out in the morning to get some grrr.
@Siebrie, well done on hopefully dealing with the bully. I would say that if you don't go to the police keep the text messages somewhere and if there is any reoccurance, even if it is minor then definitely take it all to the police. I would also think the bully probably needs to see a counsellor as if she has reached the age of 12 and doesn't understand her behaviour is unacceptable she needs help, and the cynic in me makes me think the reason she was crying was because she had been caught and called out for her behaviour rather than because she was really sorry. I might be wrong.
Very sleepy now so hugs to anybody who would like one

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday is a duller day I think 🤔 although I completely missed the morning as DH & I didn’t get up until 13:00 😔 I dealt with my mail so at least I have done something 😉 The weather never did brighten up - remaining overcast all day with a few short, light showers. The only other thing I did today, apart from watch episodes of Silent Witness, was to sort out the storage areas above & below the built in fridge/freezer. Dinner was fend for yourself - DH had the 2nd half of his Chinese, DSis had ravioli & I had cheesy beans on toast. Wudupa
2134 - 2138 Kitchen recycling, cardboard box, 0.25” paperwork, takeaway box & lid, drinks cans - recycled
2139 Kitchen detritus binned
Excellent work Pennypincin 👏 Hope the weather has stayed dry so that you have been able to proceed with your garden tidying plans🤞
Good work QueenJess 👏 progress might be slow BUT it is still progress 😊
GrannyKate, a very busy Monday - you got lots done 👏 & you appear to have inspired DS2 & DGS4 to join the declutterati 🥳
flamingo747, you might not have had managed any physical decluttering but hopefully you managed a bit of metal decluttering on Monday 🤞
Nice to see Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👋 Such a nuisance when RL gets in the way of decluttering 😉Pleased to hear that you had a lovely time in Krakow 😊 Although even more pleased that you finally managed to declutter Covid 🙂 Shame about the dining chairs but well done on disposing of them as ethically as possible 👏
You are welcome flamingo747 😊 A busy couple of days 👏 & I really like your CS Rule “Rule 1: if you don't urgently need it, or haven't fallen madly in love with it, leave it for someone who will.” I imagine it could work for all types of shopping 🤔
Siebrie, that is a huge amount of decluttering 👏 Definitely deserves a Gold Star ⭐️ Am I correct in thinking you have a 2nd olive drum to fill? At this rate you will have nothing left to declutter 😉
Liverpool_Anne, rant away 👏 As I was reading along, I became more & more flabbergasted 😲 I was also wondering how much was paid out for such a ridiculous idea 🤨 I vaguely remember some years ago that sort of idea was euphemistically called ‘blue sky thinking’
vulpix, I think your description of the ‘teaching children to brush their teeth in school’ as “bonkers” is very apt 😉 What a remarkable achievement by you & your Year ones 🥳 Did any of them continue with their cooking & become chefs? By the way, thank you for sharing such a lovely memory 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏
Stayed up long enough to pay the milkman 😉
P.S. Forgot to mention that the jeweller phoned & DH’s ring & my 50p on a chain is ready for collection 😊 Happy about that but not quite so happy about the price 😉

I've had 4 children come to our door and apologise to my daughter. 1 had a furious mum (at them), 1 had a slightly disappointed mum (he didn't bully, but also didn't try and stop it; she taught him to and was disappointed he didn't. He's in the same class as the main bully group), 2 with crying mums (from disappointment in their children) and 1 subdued dad. The anti-bully teacher from their school has had them all in their office, has contacted their parents and has reached out to any other schools involved to take it up with the children in their school. I had a chat with a police officer, and he advised me not to go to the police just yet, but keep the evidence safe, and tell the children that I will go to the police if it happens again. I also have promises from almost all of the parents that they will take their children to account. My daughter has read all these messages and it's helping.Well remembered Mrs SD! I'm planning on filling the second drum tonight.Last night we had fried rice: 2 small containers of cooked rice, 1 container of cooked green beans, 1 container of barbecued meats - diced; all from the freezer, and spices from my pantry. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5915

Morning all. Busy week trying to catch up on house after gardening at weekend. Having bacon sandwich and tea then hoping to get rest of tree foliage and small branches to tip. Think I can do it in two carloads. I bought some rubble and garden bags yesterday. I could do with popping in to town but will see how the day goes.
