@Floss what's not to love about the Lancashire version of SYTTD and (still living in the county) being a Lancashire lass myself!
My problem with the lists they are in 2 different style note books and am trying to work from 1 but unsuccessfully. It could be they are 2 different sizes. The larger one has some useful information in it that needs moving to another place to pickup later then I can reduce down the pages and quickly get it closed off as another item gone. Perhaps I need to title each note book so they are like with like information in them... hmm that sounds like an organised plan. Thanks for that Floss.

On the declutter journey since 2023 with Mrs SD. Tilly Tidy since 2023.14 -
Hi all, I have been sort of busy in fits and starts since I last posted interspersed with lounging on the couch watching the athletics. @Mrs SD I like all of it
. I was patricularly happy for Katarina JT as she is a local lady and has had a lot of injuries etc in recent years. Also Josh Kerr because it was such an exciting race
but it has all been brilliant and I love that I can watch it at any time on the iPlayer.
So the appeal meeting went ok but more will follow, they nibbled around the edges but didn't address the main issue and were obviously trying to side track the whole thing with minor issues. My friend's daughter, B, did very well answering questions that ranged over a lot of her case in no particular order but I had taken notes and at the end I was able to make a few comments that knocked a few of their arguments on the head. I had to be a little careful though as I was there just as a friend to support B. We will fight on
In the past few days I have paid my cc bill, this is unusual in that I rarely use it but the bank wanted to cancel it as I don't use it but I want to keep it justin so had put my car insurance on it but I had to remember to pay it off in full.
I have tackled 3 bags from the rod and as a result have sorted through various half used note books and the bedroom recycling bin has been emptied twice, the bathroom bin emptied, the kitchen bin emptied and I nagged OH to sort the pile of post, claiming as it took a lot of nagging, and the kitchen recycling has been filled and emptied. A few things have been added to the cs box but not counted yet as they haven't left the house. The weather has been pants so the washing is mounting but it is forecast to be better tomorrow so hopefully it will be done then. I had a shortage of socks as they are waiting to be washed so sorted the odd sock bag. I keep a cloth bag in the bottom of the wardrobe that I throw any odd socks in and when needed sort them out. 14 pairs reconnected
, crisis averted. I honestly don't know how it happens but I nearly always end up with an odd sock. I once found 3 odd socks inside a quilt cover with a t shirt that had been through the wash and used at least twice before I found them
I have also booked a hotel for our trip to Hampshire to see my niece, who is house sitting there, only for 3 days as OH has pupils coming up to test so can't take longer. That is in the middle of September so I am hoping for some better weather as the schools will be back and that is usually what happens
Today I am going to try to sort at least another bag from the rod before I watch the footy.
@Vulpix hope Mr V is recovering and the cruise does indeed go ahead, after everything you have worked through this year I am sure you could use the break. Hugs
@Florenceem, as others have said the weight loss could easily be because of the stress and hard work when Mr F was in hospital. It could also account for the hair loss, I have a friend who suffered from stress induced alopecia and it lasted for a while after the stress had gone though it has recovered now . Hugs
Sorry I have only done a quick catch up so hugs to anybody else who would like one
1159 cc paid
1160 bathroom bin emptied
1161 & 1162 bedroom recycling emptied
1163 - 1165 bags from rod
1166 OHs post sorted
1167 kitchen bin emptied
1168 kitchen recycling emptied
1169 hotel booked
1170 odd sock bag sorted
Take care everyone

Hello, currently sat on the bedroom floor having a break from the ironing. Of course both dogs think this is their cue for a wresting match…
I’ve been in the TLC carriage for a few days, got a bit overwhelmed with life but I’m sure I’ll bounce back.
Ive been thinking and fretting about my last post in case you all think I’m some kind of weirdo.
the pregnancy thing - I think it stems from a very old black and white picture I saw of a lady in the process of giving birth and she was in so much pain it really affected me which is why I avoid pregnant women. I was very young when I saw this picture and I can still see it now.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday is bright at 11:30 but definitely more autumnal than summery as only 18C. Feeling better today 🙂 Currently watching the last 10km of the Men’s Marathon. Yesterday rather than sorting out my iPad Notes (which would have required concentration 😉) I finished knitting a scarf & started another one. Did anyone see the TV clip about Britains’s oldest man - it is his “eleventy first”birthday today 🥳Ratherthan doing anything towards Project Declutter, I watched a very creepy film called M3GAN 😧whilst knitting 😔 DH has just got up 14:30 - after a week of early stars he needed the sleep 😊 I can see that everyone else has been busy so I will catch up on the cheerleading 😉
Sorry to hear about your mum MadamMim2013 😔
Enjoy having your home to yourselves for a while Soontobeoap 😉 Good luck with the TLC 🍀
QueenJess, wow you were busy on Saturday 😥 I hope you can have a more relaxed Sunday 🤞Very pleased to hear that your medal made you smile 😊 Shame about the houseplant but hopefully it will love its new home 😉
Congratulations to your DD on her excellent GCSE results Crazycatlady2 🥳 Fingers crossed that the bed arrived on time 👏
Florenceem, I see you were out & about yesterday 🙂 Well done on being so restrained with your CS spending 👏 Shame about the disappointing craft/art exhibition but I am almost positive that if you hadn’t gone you would have bumped into several people who would have said how marvellous it was 😂
EnergyShifter, sounds like you had a lovely time on Friday regardless of whether it was Chatsworth or Chartwell 😉 Some good decluttering on Saturday 👏 You are still going well with the ratio being 3.5 out to 1 in 🥳 Re the word ‘staycation’ I never really liked the word when I thought it was a modern word but now that I know it is a 1944 invention with a practical reason behind it, I am more accepting 😂
Brie, all I can say is well done Lidl 👏🥳 I was curious about refreezing bread & found a site called “busbysbakery.com” which might help 🤞 I can see OH is going to be busy over the next few weeks 😉😂
Floss & Gers 👏 I see that EnergyShifter has updated her post 😉
Lovely comments weenancy 😊 I think you have earned the right to have a little snooze during hot weather & really shouldn’t feel guilty 😉😊 I am really enjoying your reminiscences about air conditioning or lack thereof 😉 Very gratifying to learn that the schools all have air conditioning now 👏😊 I have to admit that I am definitely curious about the first use of the word “staycation” but please don’t distract yourself from your current & effective decluttering method 🙏 😉 Very interesting that you spent so much time in libraries but it sounds like you thoroughly enjoyed it 😊 and the two you mentioned are both wonderful looking buildings 👏
Pleased to hear that you had a lovely break stellata 😊 Perhaps planning your next break will help to raise your spirits 😉
Happy_Kitties, sorry to hear that you have been in hospital 😔 Please do take care 🙏 & try not to get frustrated 🙏 as there is nothing wrong with ‘slow decluttering’ - it still gets the job done 👏 Perhaps you can spend some time in the TLC Carriage 😉
Lovely comments oceanspirit 😊 Very impressed that you are keeping the Mission Control box so organised 👏 I remember when it was a Mission Control work surface 😉 Good luck with your lists & getting your home OH-proofed 🍀 I am sending lots of positive thoughts that your hospital stay goes well & that it is nothing serious 🤞
Excellent decluttering & prep for decorating betasam 👏 Hope you enjoyed your evening in 😊 I was pleased to hear that you found your missing list & in a very sensible place 😅
Lovely post weenancy 😊
TC77, yippee to finding missing clothes 🥳 You have made an excellent start on decluttering paper & well done on mending the sewing box 👏 I have made a note of your new number 😉
florianatwobob, I love the idea of putting on ‘brave gloves’ to tackle working in the shed 😅 Great work sorting out the embroidery threads & making plans for using up your stash 👏 I am hoping that you will post photos of completed embroidery projects 🙏
Nice to see you dND 👋 That book sounds really interesting so I am keeping everything crossed that you get some good news on the housing front so that you can retrieve your copy🤞🤞🤞
Lovely post Florenceem 😊 Looking forward to seeing the rag dolls in their new finery 🙂
vulpix, keeping everything crossed that MrV will be home soon & that his new health issues can be sorted quickly 🤞So sorry to hear that the cruise will need to be delayed until MrV is fit 😔
2Scratters, hope you are enjoying your weekend 🙂 An interesting WIP teaching your son budgeting 😊 Wishing you every success 🍀 I see you are also a member of the ‘Jack Frost school of lists & note taking ‘ 😉 Not a rant, rather a clarification of your thoughts & a request for ideas 😊
Floss, good idea for the notebooks 👏
2Scratters, sounds like Floss’s idea has struck a chord & has inspired a plan of action 😊
Not quite caught up with the cheerleading but I need to start cooking dinner 😉 Back later.

Hugs to all who need them. I've skim read posts as really behind. @Liverpool Anne - I had same issue with bank and my never used CC - I like to have one for things you pay up front like furniture, hotels etc - I now buy something on it every three months or so and pay it off in full. Hotel bill for Wales trip will be on my next statement. Thanks for my medal 🏅Mrs SD - I will add to my signature.
This morning was very productive on decluttering front as DS2 agreed we would empty and sort the garage as stuff of his has come in over last month. Very pleased to report at least 50 items left in my car for recycling/tip before lunch. Probably double that but 50 is a nice round figure. You can actually walk through there now and putting like with like has made things much tidier. One item put up for sale.
1137-1186 - garage stuff recycled or binned
1187-1188 Old paddling pool and rubber rings binned
1189 Random pile of cardboard and boxes recycled
1190 Allocated file in cabinet for DGCs as they have some paperwork here. Labelled up.
1191 Purchased banking book for DGD4
1192 Calendars updated
1193 Emails read, answered, filed, deleted
1194 Form filled in and posted off with the legal frog from the other day
1195 Tights to CS bag
1196 Indoor plant pots to CS bag
1197 below shelf rack to CS bag
DGD2 (15) coming to stay tomorrow for a few days. DGS1 completed his gold DofE and came home filthy and happy. DD is working her way through the washing.2025 Decluttering Campaign 697/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

2 bags of bits harvested from the shed and elsewhere sent off to charity today.I may have come home with a large trifle bowl…… and a large sequin make up bag. The make up bag is now storing my winter tights (rarely worn) and summer ‘chub rub’ shorts (a God send).More than happy to post pics of my creations once they’re in progress Mrs SD. My immediate project is a regimental cap badge for a friend. I have a target of 8 weeks to complete it! Today was a nice easy-going kind of day. Early Mass, coffee with someone from church, potter, nap, gym, potter...
Keeping up with "The Artists Way" course & really enjoying it. Brought my drawing stuff down from the loft to be ready for inspiration to happen!. Had a good sort out of the upstairs office. Its used mainly by DS now but I'm still using it for storage. Got rid of a lot of papers and put some others in the loft (probably some of those could have gone too - next time...)
Organised the shelves in my living room (which is also where I work). I've now got 3 filing boxes for my Autumn projects - 2 "in person" training courses starting in September and the Artists way course (book) . it felt very satisfying to get these ready. I haven't done a training course since 2021 when DS got ill and I am looking forward to learning something new!
Tasks:
Sorted out office - everything fits in the storage much better now.IN (running total 147)
0
OUT (running total 510)
511. Big wedge of paperwork - training notes etc
512. Completed notebook
513. dead socks
514. Dress
515. Fit flops
Best wishes to those who are poorly or have poorly loved ones.
