It it’s been about a week since I last posted. The numerous frogs that I have tickled over the last weeks are now hopping around all over the place and I have been trying to catch them to calm them down a bit.
Hoping for a quieter weekend to pop a few back into their box until appetite for them has returned.
A few bits and pieces binned, shredded and OH took a load to recycling centre earlier in the week. Must get one more frog moving as it has now become urgent and it could be 6 months or more to completion once started.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅15 -
Florenceem said:Phoned Dr this morning and got an appointment - saw a different GP who was very thorough - weighed me - I am not sure when I was last weighed at the surgery but I have lost 12 kgs - he wants me to have an urgent blood test and stool test. If blood tests show nothing - I need to have tests to find out why I have lost all the weight - it has come off in 6 months and I am eating okay. I am concerned about my hair falling out too.My mum lost a lot of hair after contracting Covid during Christmas 2020, even now, her long hair is considerably thinner than it was and regrowth has been slower too.. might be a possibility?
Hope you get some answers quickly.."There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇16 -
Thanks Mrs SD for Mr Soon2B's medal.
A small rocking horse and a fold down table taken to Open Day at our Community Club. Hopefully horse will be sold and table will be put to good use. Either way I dont want them back. Grandchildren have all been dispatched back to their homes on the mainland and tidying the house begins again in Ernest. After 6 weeks of constant change over of guests (mainly children) Our home definitely needs a little tlc starting in the garden.

What a ridiculously busy day - only just eaten my dinner. I did manage to get everything done pretty much, just some additional tidying to do tomorrow. Thank you so much for my medal @Mrs_Salad_Dodger - it made me smile today
All buy nothing people picked up stuff today and a few more things have left the house. I even listed a large houseplant that I need to give up on. It doesn’t seem to like me/wherever I put it and so I’ve accepted I can’t seem to keep it happy. Someone picked it up from Buy Nothing this morning whilst it can still be nursed back to health. I will consider if I want a plant there and can rejig ones I already have or if I prefer the space.32,097 - houseplant (Buy Nothing)

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Instead of going straight out I decided to have a 2nd cuppa & watch the Men’s Javelin Qualifying Event & dealt with my mail. Phoned DH at 11:30 & he was on his way home. He arrived back 11:45 having left at 08:45. Apparently the removal men worked really hard & efficiently. Tommy, the boss, had been recommended by DH’s nephew P (M’s cousin) Finally dealt with the last of M’s cuddly toys - the 2 electronic ones were so ingrained with dust that I decided to bin them but I still have 2 to wash & donate to CS. I went out at 13:00 & was back by 14:15. Visited bank branch - paid in cheques, got a few £1 coins & withdrew some cash. Then into M+S Food Hall mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, a sliced loaf & a pot of crème fraiche. Updated my accounts + remembered to add September’s cash to Terramundi pot re 1p Savings Challenge 😉 Dinner was oven chips, mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, fried onions, peas & steaks from the butchers. Large rump steak for DH & fillet steaks for DSis & me. Steaks were cooked to perfection by DH. Wudupa. Spent the evening watching the athletics & clearing down a few more programmes from the TV planner.

So today is attempt 2 with the bed 😂 should be here 12 or soon after
DD did brilliantly in her GCSEs and has enrolled for 6th form on her chosen subjects
Have a feeling will have a bag for charity shop next week from DD and our room plus she wants to bin all her school papers that now won't be needed18 -
Popped to SA this morning then got 2 buses to a craft/art exhibition - damp squid.
Mooched in that town's charity shops - spent £1 on a child's garment that will make a doll's dress.
Got another bus and did that town's charity shops - spent another £1 on a 100% cotton blouse that will be cut up and appear on a doll - already in the washing machine.
Buses were very busy because of the train strike.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Yesterday was a lovely start to my "staycation" I went to Chartwell (I originally said Chatsworth doh!) with a friend and her 2 dogs. The grounds were absolutely stunning including a pond with black swans! I was quite taken by the story that part of the agreement when the house was bequeathed to the National Trust was that there should always be a Marmalade cat, called Jock, with white bib and socks living there. They are up to Jock VII now. I'm the owner of a cat that matches that description (other than the name).
No arrangements today. Started strong - did some writing (I'm on day 2 of The Artists Way course) then power washed the remaining wheelie bins. I've now run out of steam so will be taking it easy this afternoon.
Tasks:
Power washed 2 x wheelie bins
Replaced oven linerIN (running total 143)
144. Whistles Tunic Dress- CS
145. Clipboard & pad (for my Morning Pages)
146. Waste Paper Bin
147. Set of knives - bread knife straight out to CS as we don't eat bread (gluten intolerant)
OUT (running total 508)
509. Tracksuit bottoms
510. Old knives
I never knew "Staycation" went so far back, Mrs SD - I imagined it was much more recent than that.
Queen Jess - That's a lovely linen cupboard. We've virtually no built in storage so store mine in a large trunk / chest in my bedroom. I love the trunk / chest but its a bit of a faff getting to stuff.

Helped the food bank declutter excess bread yesterday some of which we decluttered for breakfast this morning.
Lidl etc with the inhouse bakery don't keep their bake goods for sale the next day so they give them to the food bank. Recently Lidl did the full afternoon bake and then forgot to put anything out to sell so we were inundated and it filled the freezer. Slowly it's being given out, still frozen/thawing but anything that is left when the FB closes is given out to staff or volunteers as otherwise it would be binned.
I've left some of the bread in the bread box for tomorrow's breakfast (nice sour dough loaf) but another loaf is tomato jalapeno and won't get used before Monday at the earliest so I've popped it back into the freezer. So even though it was fully thawed I've refrozen it but fully sliced so I can use a couple of slices at a time for toasting. I know refreezing things is a no-no to a lot of people but I can't see that this will be poisoness so am going to give it a go. Worst thing that can happen is that it's unpleasant to eat and I can chuck it in the bin.
And having washed everything up I discovered a baking potato that was left over. It had been used as there's a big cut in the side so I've trimmed it and then cubed and stuck it in the freezer as well in one of my bags with veg ready to be roasted.
All of which is nothing compared to what I'd like the OH to do in the garden.....he's working on a area to put up a hot tub and I would love this to mean that he's going to remove the remnants from the last hot tub area that was dismantled a year back. Along with the left over timber from a project the year before. And the bike that has been back there with flat tires for 3 years......I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
