Congratulations!Task (I prefer the word 'task' over the word 'chore', which wears me down before ever getting around to performing the act) for this afternoon: emptying, cleaning, drying and putting away the swimming pool. It's the last sunny day before at least 10 days of rain and lower temps.I've been watching Farmhouse on Boone for a bit and in one of her videos the utoober (Mum of 8!) says she is constantly thinking about ways to make life easier for 'future-her'. That stuck. So, the next 10 days, when the weather is not wonderful, I will take on my pantry with my dds; they need to learn how to maintain a pantry (and they may come up with meal ideas
).

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Good morning declutterati chums. Wednesday is another fine sunny day & already 20C at 10:00 a.m. I was up & dressed by 09:45. DH left at 07:00 - he will be away overnight in Wales on RBR 🙂 He has phoned twice to make sure I am up 😉 - left a message first time but I spoke to him as was up for his 2nd call. Whilst I remember his niece M’s moving date has reverted to the 25th 🤷♀️ Whilst I am drinking my cuppa I will take the opportunity to do some cheerleading 😉
weenancy, so pleased to hear that feral cat is fine & was kind enough to bring you a gift 👏 Also relieved that the only storm damage was a broken dog kennel 😮💨 On the other hand I am sorry to hear that your flatmates are still ‘living in cloud cuckoo land’ 😔 If they are still eating your food, I think the time has come to put locks on the fridge/freezer & all the kitchen cupboards 😉 I see that you have gone back to being busy - well done clearing emails & FB 👏 Fingers crossed there are no issues when you go out 🤞Hope your family in B.C. are staying safe 🙏
Blue_Doggy, sorry to hear that you are feeling so overwhelmed 😔 The pink Cashmere blanket & intravenous coffee & red wine lines sound interesting 😉
You gave the Pixies plenty of time to help out but it seems that they are on strike together with all manner of people 😔 Oh well, I suppose it just means that it is all done to you 🥲 What an excellent start you have made by dealing with your mail 👏 Yippee to your Premium Bond win 🥳 Also excellent work using up your Brexit/Covid stash AND saving money by using the library 👏 All those actions have earned you a medal 🏅 Keep up the good work 😊
Yippee to MrF’s Premium Bond win, Florenceem 🥳 Hope he is going to treat you 🤞I see DGS J has been busy again 👏 September sounds so far away re the carpenter turning up but less than 10 days away 😔 Where has the year gone 😱 Love the teal coloured advent calendar 😊
TC77, hope DD2 enjoys her trip to Amsterdam 😊 Fingers crossed that you enjoy having the house to yourself & can get a few items decluttered 🤞 Also hoping that the major frog re ex will finally be completed & that the result is everything you desire 🤞😊
vulpix, pleased to hear that the kitchen fitter is working hard 🙂👏 I bet you can hardly wait until you can use your new kitchen & get rid of all the dust 🥹
Brie, fingers crossed that the garden shrub is picked up quickly 🤞
Siebrie, I am definitely with you ‘task’ rather than ‘chore’ 😊 Good luck with the pantry clear out 🍀 & hopefully your DDs will enjoy themselves & learn a lot 🤞😊
Florenceem, Flossy is gorgeous 😍 & I have checked out the crafting thread.
All caught up, cuppa almost finished & I am just about to set off. Have a good day everyone 😊

Garden shrub gone from front of the house when I got home from work. OH who was toiling away at his pc about 3 feet from there didn't hear a thing. He's basically right beside the front door but can't hear the door bell but had the window open - selective deafness I think. Anyways - got a thanks from the woman who nabbed it so that's ok.
Still have the buttercups...the gardeners didn't have time to cut the grass but as I said to them the first time they came to have a look at our messy backyard I'm not after a putting green. In fact I like to look out in the morning when it's still dewey and can see lots of spider webs in patches on the lawn. I know that if I look between the grass blades there's a whole world of living things and know that a longer lawn keeps them all more sustainable. Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Now off to the online banking to declutter the price of having gardeners!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Trying to still do some sorting every day (bar illness, holiday, work madness etc.). I did challenge DS to get rid of 5 things in his room and he obliged with 8 pretty quickly. I thought it was just a fun game to keep on top of things. He’s not really on top of his room stuff, so I think we’re going to have to have a new plan for it. It’s a million times better since I redid it recently, but it’s not 100% working, so needs a bit of tweaking. Not sure how yet, I’ll have a think about it.
Some of the mess in my bedroom I can’t really put away as it’s related to sorting out the upstairs cupboard. It’s one of those situations where you need to sort X to get Y away, but in order to sort X you need to decide on Z etc etc. I stood looking into the cupboard and to stop the overwhelm of various decisions to be made, I just looked for one small thing I could achieve in there, no matter how small. I pulled out a big bag from the top shelf and found the sofa cushions in it that came with the sofa. Honestly they are useless and very irritating to use, but we kept them because they came with the sofa. I need the space in the cupboard more, so convinced DH they can go. One biggish space sorted and now I’m considering the storage of duvets/pillows that go on the top and what I might need to buy (I currently have no storage bag for our winter duvet, which is why it’s on the floor in the cupboard in the photo I took). I’m currently trying to work out the best way to arrange this stuff and then the cupboard will be significantly improved.
Anyway, that was enough for today. At one point today I realised I could just sit down for half an hour. No washing needed doing, the house isn’t a tip, no urgent decluttering stuff needed doing, the kitchen was tidy, I’d already baked chocolate brownies, dinner was going to be a reheat from Monday and all dry clothes had been put away. It was a bizarre feeling and one I haven’t had for a very long time with all the decluttering work I’ve done all year. I’m really hoping this is now going to be normal for me and is all my hard work paying off.Digital:

Hi all, I am reporting in even though not much decluttering achieved. I am in the middle of helping a friend's daughter with a discrimination claim. I only heard about it on Monday and we have a hearing tomorrow so lots of work done on that. Monday evening we went out for a meal with OHs sis and bil and the new parents plus baby. Lovely meal and the baby was brilliant, stayed in his pram next to the table except when granny decided he was too cold, mum said no but granny had to get him out and proceeded to hold him while trying to eat and then decided he was too hot and took his jumper off. Dad eventually interceded and put him back in his pram
. He was quite happy looking at the coloured fairy lights on the ceiling
.
Tomorrow I am meeting a couple of friends for lunch before heading to the meeting. In between times I have sorted my post and filed various pieces of paper, finished sorting the fridge, 3 more items into the bin, had a quick sort of the freezer and identified a few things to be used for tea today, I LDFPA, 1 self care session, kitchen bin emptied, bedroom recycling emptied and today I did a load of shopping and that has been put away
Hopefully after tomorrow I will have a bit more time
@Vulpix, congratulations
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Last Day at work for over a week - another "staycation" planned! I've woke up feeling quite rough but the good news is I appear to have only 1 client booked in & its the company that pays a flat rate regardless of how many people are booked. Sadly, but understandably, they are moving to a new system next month where we "only" get paid per client seen and cancellations within 24 hours.
I had planned to have lunch with a friend but I'm going to cancel as I really don't feel 100%.
Tasks:
Power washed the "green bin" - it was NOT a pleasant task 🤢IN (running total 143)

OUT (running total 508)

Mrs SD - another one impressed by your dedication & record-keeping 💐. Those statuettes are really pretty.
Weenancy - Your budgeting skills are incredible! (Your flatmates' not so much!!)I'm pleased the storm has now passed with not too much damage.
Granny Kate - beautiful beach!
Vulpix Congratulations 💐

Pffft, the swimming pool is dismantled, currently all the bits of the frame are on the kitchen floor awaiting cleaning and putting away, and the plastic pool fabric is folded up underneath the terrace table. The underside was really dirty and I couldn't wipe it off quickly, so I have to wait for another sunny day to scrub the bottom and dry it properly. Hopefully this weekend.DD2 and I went through her checklist of what should be in her bookbag for secondary school (starting 1 September), and we looked through the pencils-pens-felt tip pens-crayons-highlighters-glue sticks-paint tubes-paintbrushes-rubbers--pencil sharpeners- short rulers-typex rollers-drawer to see what we already had in store. Turns out, we only need to buy a set square. Many felt tip pens and decorative glue sticks were chucked. She will today sort through the rest, but I think all colouring pencils can go to Africa, because she was given a good quality complete set in a sturdy box for her birthday in April. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5913
