Hello All! Sorry I haven’t posted for ages - that lump under the pink Cashmere blanket in the corner of the TLC carriage? The one with the intravenous coffee and red wine lines? And the empty Victoria Sponge cake (they were delish - thank you, Cake Maker - ) plates? That was me, I did try to leave some cake for other people. 😄
I just got overwhelmed by all that had to be done. It’s still all here, the Pixies haven’t sorted it for me ((naughty Pixies) Dear Pixies 🧚🧚♂️🧚♀️do have some of these nice treats 🙂).
I’ve read a few of the most recent pages, no hope of catching up with everything. Thank you for my ‘nother star @Mrs_Salad_Dodger.
Not much done in the Blue Doggy kennel, but I have used up all the Brexit/COVID stash of tinned food. One Good Thing, which is progress - my Reading Group did a Donna Leon novel, which I rather liked so have been having a bit of a Donna Leon-athon, using just books from the Library. Previously I’d’ve been raiding the charity shops and/or Amazon for them, and squeezing them into the bookshelves, so definite progress of sorts there.Talking about Libraries, hope you’re safe @weenancyinAmerica sounds like horrid weather all round the Pacific North America.Today I opened the mail which had arrived over the last two or so weeks (whoopee! A Premium Bond cheque for £100!) and a pile of emptied envelopes. Also strimmed my sorta lawn (it was gravel, but grass grew on it over the last couple of years, and I’ve added to it by transplanting grass from the joins between the paving slabs of path and patio). And did a chunk of ironing, only one double sheet left now.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Mr F got a premium bond prize of £50.
I have 2 projects half done on my craft table - hope to finish both tomorrow.
DGs J did 2 coats of emulsion in the cloakroom - window open all day and it is dry. Think it makes the room a bit darker but at least it is clean. I think it was magnolia before the lemon and now duck egg. I will hang the mirror back up tomorrow.
Booked a carpenter to hang the last 3 doors upstairs - he can't do it until first week of September.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@Blue_Doggy glad to see you back, and understand being in the corner of the TLC carriage.
Just dropped DD2 at her friends for early departure to amsterdam - first trip abroad with friends and a few days on my own. Work all consuming but feel I could be buried under my stuff. So want to have less but torn by my magpie nature.
Visited my mum's friends who gave me a wonderful print their mum (my mum's original friend) made, a bowl - one of them is a potter, some dvds, books and photos! I did resist what I could and will frame print and use the bowl as have most meaning and watch and pass on dvds. etc.
Revisited tops I thought I would get rid of then had second thoughts and think may be useful, justin!
going to tinker with some papers but edging forward at a snail's pace!17 -

Late evening potential declutter success. Gardeners removed a large shrub from the garden and I put it at the front of the house before posting on Freegle. 2 contacts so far wanting to pick it up tomorrow afternoon so I think it will be gone very quickly. Nice to know that someone might like it - shame to just chuck things. If I was a garden centre I'd likely be charging £50+ for a plant that size!!!

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DSis headed off to the doctors about 15:00 & DH got back about 15:45 having stopped of at sm to pick up a few bits & put petrol in the motorbike. DSis got back later with a whole new raft of medications for her mosquito bites & confirmation that Wednesday’s appointment is a diabetes check up. She also has an appointment for an asthma check & a form for a walk-in scan. The new medication is already working - apparently DSis got bitten on her first day & was in pain or itching most of the time she was away 😔 The bath towels dried on the whirligig but were a bit rough so popped them in td with dryer balls with 15 minutes. Dinner was pork steaks with mash, carrots & cabbage. Wudupa.

Shame about the buttercups, Brie 😔 but at least everything in the garden will be neat & tidy 👏 I agree with Floss that it was “a good nudge from the GC staff member” 😊
Floss, rookie error, taking in other people’s stuff 😅 Good luck with the selling 🍀 & I hope you get to keep funds raised 🤞
Well done on decluttering the housework Pennypincin 👏 Thanks for the reminder about washing curtains 😊
Wednesday2000, sounds like you have a lovely clean carpet 😊 which will not only look different but feel different 🥳
Just noticed the time so I am off to bed. Will finish the cheerleading tomorrow when I get back my meet up with ex colleague.
