Afternoon all.
Mrs SD, I'm definitely not a star wars fan either, on mentioning it to DH I was informed that kitten was a girl and that's why they chose the name 🤣 knew there was a boy and 2 girls but its too long ago for me to remember which was which.
DH has spent a good 6 hours in the garden today filling the skip. He's in agony now. This is what I managed to watch go in an a picture of regularly mentioned bucket for sizing. The skip is half full of concrete that was dug out of the garden, buried for no reason.
The Rhubarb was completely tangled in the nettles and had been trampled by the dogs so none for the freezer this year. The ball is still there so hopefully some next year (it was already there when we moved in 22 years ago)
The apple trees are where the new steps up the garden are going, one gets beautiful leaves but no apple and the other had a few apples but all the branches and leaves looked dead. DH tried to get them out in one piece to move them but they were way too heavy. We will replace them once the garden is done.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
It has rained on & off all day 😞 so we had a fairly productive late afternoon 🙂 DH & I had hm soup for lunch - the small amount lo has been allowed to cool, been bagged & put in freezer. DH checked the wormeries & added some shredding. I phoned my bank, ordered a new cheque book & checked my accounts. Also updated all associated paperwork 👏 DH & I have packed a bag each & I have sorted the wash bag. Motorbike gear is also laid out ready for tomorrow 🙂
19:15 Dinner is cooking - pork steaks, home grown potatoes & frozen peas. The hg potatoes were soooooo tasty 😋
1624 - 1626 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard packaging - recycled
1627 - 1628 Kitchen & office detritus binned
QueenJess, fingers crossed that hiding away & getting things done re tidying up recipes will help defuse the potential explosion 🤞😉🙏 I hope you manage to find a couple of recipes for DH to cook 😂 Could I please have a bit of your “allergic reaction to doing nothing” 😉 🙏 I am in sore need of something to keep me on the straight & narrow when it comes to decluttering, tidying & cleaning 🤣
charlies_tribe, DH is definitely a fan of all things Star Wars then 🤣 Pleased to hear that you left the heavy lifting & digging to DH & counted everything into the skip 😉🤞Although I imagine you did most of the weeding 🙂 Such a shame that the nettles swamped your rhubarb 😔 but it does show how hardy rhubarb plants are - 22 years plus 🤩 The one donated to us by DH’s BiL is possibly the same age 🤔 I must say that now our two rhubarb plants are in their new location they are thriving 😊 Great garden decluttering especially all the weeds, concrete & glass 👏 - worthy of a Gold Star ⭐️ ⭐️ each 👏 I hope you both manage to have a shower/bath to ease aching & tired muscles before going to bed tonight 🤞
Florenceem I visited the ‘No Craft Spending’ thread - so many clever crafters 🤩 I loved the decoupage cards you made on the 3rd of July & the cloth pantie liners are beautiful 😍
Excellent decluttering & tidying of your wardrobe florianatwobob 👏 Having sorted DH’s wardrobe I am trying to summon up the energy & motivation to sort mine out 😱 but only after our trip to Scotland 😂
DH has finished helping DSis to book a flight & hire a car for her visit to France to see her son. She will be away for the 2nd & 3rd week in August 🙂 I am about to do the wudupa & will then have a nice bath 😊

Done some more weeding and OH has mowed. Garden slowly reducing the jungle look.
Made some ‘carrot cake’ oat bars and used up more store cupboard items for the meals today. Was getting excited about the small amount of worktop appearing then OH came back from village fete with a huge fruit basket he had won on the raffle. The worktop is piled high with fruit and a couple of items have been squeezed into the fridge. Will be taking some fruit to the rellies tomorrow when we visit whether they want it or not!Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅16 -
This was meant to be a post about my having got halfway through the 365 things net I planned to declutter, but I had a waterstones card to use (birthday present from last month) and then wandered into the Oxfam book shop on the way so three books have come in. Currently the tally is 250 things out and 69 in. 181 down, 184 to go.
It still seems a good spot to stop and take stock:- Books are going out faster than they're coming in still, and I've four in the pile to go to the bookswap, which is good. I find it very easy to buy piles of books faster than I can physically read them if I don't impose a one in one out rule. I'd like to get to the point where none of the books are shelved behind other books and all of the spines are visible.
- I definitely didn't need the notebooks and fountain pens I bought, nice though they are. I have at least 30 notebooks of varying sizes, and am still mostly using the fountain pen (and the ballpoint) I always use. It's reliable, so it's what goes to work with me. I bought paints and brushes too, and I've got whole boxes of paints. Maybe I should impose a one in/one out rule on stationery and art materials?
- Very pleased with my new laptop and dressing gown, although both were slight splurges they were worth it.
- People are very generous, and just under a third of the 66 things were gifts, mostly from family - I'm afraid some went straight out again though, and others - mostly posh toiletry miniatures - will have to because I know I won't use them up. Perhaps a foodbank would welcome them?
- I found out where the dump was and that I could walk in. Quite pleased about that as now I've done it once and found it easy enough I'll go back.
- As other people have said, I haven't regretted a single thing I've got rid of.

I got rid of several odd glasses, a bunch of unopened toiletries, a skillet pan we’ll never use and a few small bowls from a huge crockery set that we have never touched in 7 years.
It’s not much, but it’s given all of our used glasses and cups a “place” in the cupboard.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. Rain forecast for here - Church this morning then straight to a garden party in aid of Ukraine - I am the designated First Aider. Will take my casual uniform with me to Church and change quickly after the service.
There is a lot of plastic in sanitary items which ends up in landfill. Sewers are blocked when sanitary products are flushed. I find the cloth pantie liners so comfortable - there is a waterproof layer - I bought PUL but the rest was fabric in my stash.
I am planning my next sewing make - this is to raise funds for SA.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I don’t know about you @Florenceem but having made the move to reusables a couple of years ago I wouldn’t go back to disposable sanitary products. Minimal hassle for me and better for the environment. This weekend I'm spending at my Mum's, and there are about 7 lovely charity shops in her city. They are run by the local government to help people reintegrate, socialise, first step up to a proper job, and most of the shops don't need a subsidy (anymore) due to the amount they make. Anyway, I went for larger soup bowls and found 2, then also found a stackable water glass of a type I already have 2 of, 2 cds, a hanging lampshade and cord, and 3 sturdy plastic foldable garden chairs, all for just €37,45.
And because I'm leaving dd1 with grandma for the week, it all actually fits in the car
I helped Mum with some very confusing insurance letters and documents. Allegedly, my sister had helped her last week, but Mum didn't quite trust the result, so we went through everything again. My sister hadn't even cottoned on to the fact that it all related to 3 different insurances. She used to work in the insurance business! For this very insurance company! Anyway, Mum now has a list of questions to ask the insurance company on Monday; if she's not happy with the result I will call them next week when I'm spending a fortnight here.
I'm borrowing Mum's breadmaker until the last bag of bread flour I inherited from my Dad is finished. I will get rid of my current breadmaker, which does not bake bread that I like. If Dad's breadmaker does make nice bread, I will discuss with sis if she's happy that I'm taking it. Or I'll just give it back to Mum.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5918
