P&S have taken two bags of books to drop off at cs for me. That included the book that I finished reading yesterday, and a book, from the chairside table in LR, that I'm not going to read. The title 'Start Where You Are' was promising but I must be starting from somewhere else (?) as I just couldn't get any further than the first chapter despite several attempts to do so. On a positive note I've recognised that the book is not for me and let it go.
I'm annoyed. Last year I put a plastic lid into the recycling instead of into the MMAS bag. And now I've found the bucket of bricks that the lid belonged to.Why did I not just put the lid in the MMAS bag? 🤦♀️
It had to happen eventually but I'm still cross with myself. However. Quick check. The world hasn't ended. 🤯 Just my head then!

Did another 10 mins in the garden yesterday. Green bin nearly full now - it will be emptied this week so I can carry on with my daily stint.
MC box now only half full. I have done the easy things from there so from now on it will be frogs. I am actually looking forward to getting stuck in as the feeling of getting it done and the lifting of pressure/stress caused by things not being dealt with will be great.

Monday is overcast & threatening rain 😔 Very nice room, comfy bed but I still had a restless night (I was up every 2 hours 😔) DH gave me a neck massage, then up & dressed fully by 08:15. Went to breakfast 08:20. Full Scottish for DH & I had scrambled eggs on toast followed by toast & marmalade. Whilst we were breakfasting the heavens opened 😳 We will be checked out & on the road by 09:30 - raining or not as we have a full day planned. Tonight we will be in Aberfoyle having visited & taken photos of 7 landmarks 🙂 Hopefully the Wi-Fi will be better tonight & I can start on the cheerleading 🤞
Hope everyone has a good day 😊
Tried to post this but no signal 😔
Proper signal at our hotel tonight in the Trossochs so will post this immediately & come back later to report on our day 😊

No number to add to my total today.
The Ukrainian garden party raised £1,500 less expenses ( some craft items were bought for the stall).
Mr F has been trying to sort out his pensions today.
Went to the Doctors - Mr F has to have a blood test but got his prescription.
My blood test showed that I am pre diabetic.
Went to Ald. and had a long wait for a bus home.
Started some sewing - hope to finish it tomorrow.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Forgot I broke a coffee pot last night. Liked it but have others! Waiting while dd1 takes her 8 boxes into flat ( under instructions to stay in the car). Will count this as 9 and also paid a longstanding bill. Have more frogs and just trying to work through them. Workman promised to get back to me and not replying to text or call which is disappointing as seemed v nice and interested in work.

We were on the road by 09:20 having waited a few minutes for the 2nd spell of rain to stop 😔 First stop was Palnackie Tower, then onto Moffat to take a photo of Devil’s Beeftub then back into Moffat where DH refuelled the bike & we spent some time in a lovely little tea shop 😊 I finally managed to get the scone with jam & cream that I missed out on when we went to Cornwall 😉 Very nice it was too 👏Between 09:30 & 13:15 we had FOUR short, sharp showers so didn’t really get wet. Headed off to Douglas to see the Polish Memorial Garden & then on to Glenbuck to see Bill Shankly’s birthplace. As we left there the heavens opened & the rain lasted 45 minutes - sometimes light showery but mostly heavy rainfall 😔 The rain stopped for 15 minutes, then it was stop & start rain for the rest of the afternoon until we arrived at our very posh hotel at about 17:15. However, prior to that DH managed to fall over & twist the knee on his bad leg - a loud crack which he has likened to the sound of crunching polos 😥 DH is now more hop-along than usual 😔 He hobbled back from the landmark in agony just as I was talking to a fellow Round Britain Rallyer 🙂 A lovely Scottish lady called Liz who had missed out the last couple of years as she had no motorbike. She had decided to resume motorcycling so had bought a Royal Enfield recently - citing one of the reasons as a desire to resume the RBR as she had missed it 😂 Whilst she went off to take her photo, I found some Ibuprofen for DH. We waited until Liz had returned & then came the arduous task of DH getting on the bike as he couldn’t lift his right leg 😥I lifted his leg then he shuffled etc until he was sat down. Eventually I got on & then had to lift his leg onto the footrest. Then we set off - only issues were that right hand turns were difficult & that we needed as few stops as possible so that DH wouldn’t have to take his right leg off the footrest 🤞 We were very lucky - only a couple of right hand turns & DH didn’t have to put his foot down until we arrived at the hotel ……. in the rain 🌧️ It has rained solidly from 17:15 to 23:00 & is still raining.
Eventually got checked in - DH carried the crash helmets & I carried 3 bags because unfortunately we are on the 3rd floor 😔 A very kind lady helped out by relieving me of a bag & carrying it to our room even though she was on the 2nd floor 👏 We get to our room & DH cannot find the key cards 🙄 He looked in all his pockets …… nothing. So downstairs I go to get the keycards & guess what the receptionist had given them to DH but set up another one for me. Long story short, we got into our room & DH found the keycards in his wallet 🙊 The receptionist had kindly agreed to bring us a bag of ice which I exchanged for the extra key card 😮💨 We then each had showers but before DH got dressed we fashioned an ice pack for his leg. We had plenty of time before dinner because the options had been 17:30, 18:30 or 20:30, so we had chosen 20:30.
We had a couple of drinks in the bar then went into the restaurant. DH had smoked salmon on sliced beetroot 😋😋 followed by baked hake, potato rosti & fennel 😋😋 meanwhile I had asparagus spears with a poached egg covered in hollandaise sauce 😋 followed by chicken wrapped in Parma ham, Dauphinoise potatoes, haggis & warm coleslaw & a solitary baby carrot 😋😋 DH rounded off his meal with chocolate torte with ice cream & quince honeycomb soooo tasty 😋 Got back to our room just before 22:00 & guess what our key wouldn’t work 🙄 Back down I go but had to wait 20 minutes for the receptionist as she was off somewhere helping another guest. Eventually got into our room about 22:25 😔 I have packed our bags & DH now has our version of an ice pack on his knee with towels under & over his leg to avoid the bed getting wet 🤞
We were lucky with animal sightings today as we saw a heron in a field & a pheasant on the road which flew off before we reached it 🥳
Hope everyone has a good night 😴

Oh Mrs. S_D, so sorry to hear about Mr. S_D's knee - can be very painful. Any chance of seeing a doctor soon? Too bad you can't take another form of transportation home, instead of the motorbike. Hugs.14
