Florenceem I so hope everything goes smoothly for both of you x

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday is an overcast day & looks like it might rain although the weather forecast says not 😉 Will leave it until 15:00 & see if the dark clouds disappear before I consider putting last of yesterday’s wash out to dry 🤞Up very late but have written a 4 day menu plan + a shopping list for DH. He left 14:05. I will now have another attempt to catch up 😉
Liverpool_Anne, every item out is a step closer to a decluttered home 👏 Good luck finding OH’s BiL’s present 🍀
Florenceem, everything crossed that the technician gets everything fitted tomorrow 🤞 It will be so lovely for both of you if MrF can come home on Friday 😊 Hopefully the front door can remain open for a little while so that the paint dries completely & isn’t difficult to close 🤞 Hope you enjoyed the SA friendship & lunch club yesterday & managed to get your shopping done 😊
TC77, fingers crossed that DD1 pulls her finger out & gets packed ready for her move 🤞
Excellent decluttering on Wednesday QueenJess 👏 I hope you did manage to do something for yourself even if it was only reading a book for half an hour 🙏 Hope you managed to reach 18,000 🤞
Siebrie, shame about the glass jars but I think 20 years of service is a good result 😊
Wednesday2000, fingers crossed that it was good news from the vet 🤞Sounds like the stress re your cat has finally kicked in & made you lethargic 😉 Please spend at least a little time in the TLC Carriage to recover 🙏
Soontobeoap, you can learn something new every day being on this thread 😊
~FlowerPot~, you have more important things to do than decluttering, you have Elmo to care for 😊 For the time being he needs your undivided attention to set him fully on the road to recovery 😊 Well done on getting the living room tidier & good work decluttering 👏 Hopefully you can ease the lady’s pain 🤞Another new to me word ‘radionics’ 🙂
Wednesday2000, that is good news about your cat 😊 Well done on the tidying & cleaning 👏 I think feeling so tired will be a combination of the hot, humid weather & the worry over your cat 😔 Hopefully now that your cat is recovering, you might be able to get some rest 🤞 Excellent decluttering in your bedroom 👏 Really like your carpet 😊
QueenJess, not weird at all - I had the same thought 😉 Re your library & the Achilles heel that is books, perhaps the 23 minute rule would work for you 🤔 Set a timer for 23 minutes, sort & declutter. Once the timer goes off make a very quick decision as to whether or not to do a 2nd session or move on & do something else. Excellent & eclectic decluttering & well done on sailing past 18,000 👏 I really must do more than skim read that website you recommended 😉
Wednesday2000, shame that it isn’t the carpet in your bedroom 😔 A very evocative word “scuzzy” - haven’t heard it for years 😉 Perhaps you can give your husband some cleaning materials & set him to work on the bedroom carpet (seeing as he is the one who has put restrictions on getting a new one) 😈
~FlowerPot~, that is excellent digital decluttering 👏
QueenJess, good luck with DD’s room when you are in the right mood to do it 🍀 Hopefully now you have made the first decision - summer or winter clothes it will be slightly easier 🤞 Just a random thought ‘do you have some space in your bedroom to store DD’s recently washed, dried & folded clothes? It might make it easier to venture into DD’s bedroom if there is less in there 😊🤔
Thanks for the recommendation daisy_1571 👏 No scuzzy carpet but I might pick up some cleaning tips 😉 Embarrassed to admit that I never know which type of cloth to use for which cleaning job 😳
As the sun came out (15:00) I have hung out the partially dried washing from yesterday 🥳 & made myself another cuppa 😊 Only 20 posts behind 😉
Florenceem, you had a busy day yesterday 😊 The card is beautiful 😍 & a lovely sentiment 😊 You are a very talented lady & well done on already raising funds for the SA 👏 Thanks for the info re fridge organisers 👏 I have investigated where my nearest Home Bargain is - same retail park as Sainsbury’s 🥳 So now just need to take some measurements of the inside of the fridge making sure to measure heights between shelves as well & then I see a shopping trip in my future 🔮
Wednesday2000, still think you should get MrW2000 to clean the carpet 😈
weenancy your little sister has a LOT of clothes 😱 & it sounds like she will either have to change her clothes 5 times a day, every day for 25 years OR live for another 125 years 🤣 You are definitely the other end of the scale - a true minimalist 😅
DH arrived home 15:30 & I have put everything away properly & disposed of all packaging. Fridge is still tidy 😊 & I have had a sandwich to use up the last of the pate 😉
SuffolkSue, having read your post I found an a cappella version of Be Still My Soul & a version with music sung by Kari Jobe - so beautiful & uplifting.
Thanks for that daisy_1571 👏 I have made a note for future reference 🙂
stellata, hope your hospital appointment went well today 🤞 What a great result re the CS bags - serendipity at work 😊
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 I hope today’s trip to Rhyl went well 🤞
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 How fortuitous to both find the debit card & a branch of the bank open 😊 I am polishing your halo 😇 as I type 😉 Hope OH’s hospital appointment goes well & that you don’t have to drive around or wait for too long 🤞
GrannyKate, sounds like you had a lovely day out in Newark yesterday - decluttering stress 😊 & now you have a holiday in Scotland to pack for 😊 We are off to Scotland Sunday 9th for just over a week - not sure if we have mentioned it to DSis yet 😂 Pleased to hear that DD has a suitably sized replacement car 👏 Although a bit surprised that the decision is to repair her car especially if it does take months to repair 🤔
Florenceem, getting exciting now - everything happening really quickly now after so much waiting around 🥳 Hopefully the technician will arrive early & get everything in place efficiently & safely 🤞 The other thing I am keeping everything crossed for is that MrF is not kept waiting for hospital transport for ages 🤞 Ten minutes is my hope 😉 Enjoy your card making 😊
Siebrie, very MSE re the curtain 👏 One less item in the attic & DH’s clothes shielded from black dust - win win 😊 Sounds like a very pleasant place to live - lots of trees - now just need to move the airport to a new location & it would be perfect 😅 Thanks for that Siebrie - I think in the garden sounds ideal & DH bought black bin bags today 😉
Florenceem, pleased to hear that the technician is there & busy getting everything in place. Hopefully he will clear up when he is finished 🤞 Sorry to hear that only one toilet frame has been delivered 😔You would think that if worse came to worse they could bring a 2nd frame in the hospital transport when bringing MrF home 🤨 Fingers, toes & eyes crossed that something can be sorted so that MrF can come home tomorrow 🤞
~FlowerPot~ yippee to pupster being bandage free & hopefully will stay zonked out until you have completed your To Do list 😉🤞
QueenJess, sounds like a great plan for getting things done on a busy work day 👏 Declutter 1, Tidy 2 - hope you don’t mind if I borrow that idea 🙏 Good luck with your mini decluttering session 🍀 You have reminded me that I really need to gather all my cookery books together & go through them 😔 It is almost certainly time to let go of my dream self - a mixture of Mary Berry & Nigella Lawson 😉 If it hasn’t happened by now it is never going to happen 🤣 I have cookery books scattered all over the house as well as several notebooks with a few handwritten recipes & a small pile of recipes clipped from magazines & newspapers + a couple of hundred bookmarked recipes 😳 Oops, this is turning into a major project so I will add it to my To Do Notebook - DONE ✅ The recipe app sounds really useful but I would probably have a flurry of activity getting it set up & then forget I had it 🤣 Excellent decluttering so far 👏 & good luck reaching 18,100 🍀
~FlowerPot~ well done getting all your list completed - one medal 🏅 coming your way 😊 + one bunch of flowers for you 💐 & some doggy treats for pupster 😉
Yippee Florenceem 🥳 Hope you can get a good night’s sleep tonight so you can welcome MrF home feeling all ‘bright eyed & bushy tailed’ 😊 I am adding my best wishes to both ~FlowerPot~ & SuffolkSue’s good wishes 😊
Excellent decluttering QueenJess & well done on reaching today’s target 👏 Hopefully the mini declutter of your purse will result in you finding a few forgotten tenners 😉🤞
And now I can breathe 🧘♀️ as I have caught up 🥳

Only a bit of brick/sawdust to hoover up after the workman - he was very tidy - came with a dustpan and brush.

Washing did dry on line, everything folded & ready to put away. Watched some TV whilst dealing with today’s mail. Dinner was mushroom risotto with the last bits of chicken from Tuesday night’s dinner added. Wudupa. Did anyone watch The Repair Shop: NHS Special on Wednesday - really interesting.

Up - washing on and eating breakfast - I went to bed thinking - I will have Mr F next to me tomorrow night.
No ironing to do today.
Just a flit round needed as regards housework - so easy now that I have clear areas - can hoover the house, wash the floors & clean toilets + sinks in less than 20 minutes. My plan is to use the TOM. method - anyone here tried it?
I am popping to SA around 9 and Asd. - will leave a note on door in case of early deliveries.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
