2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - I hope you have a good journey home today. Unfortunately West-country traffic is awful throughout the summer season. I love visiting Charlestown, although I haven’t been down that far into Cornwall for a while. I definitely like the sound of those ice creams and your meals!@dND - good luck with your move. Interesting to hear about the changes in process following Brexit. It must certainly focus the mind on thinking about what you wish to bring with you.@Florenceem - that’s brilliant that Mr F is on the cusp of coming home🎉
I am trying not to get down about having to deal with another influx of stuff. My instinct is now to just shift everything on but that won’t work as there is a process and other people to consider. I’m trying to work out how to separate myself off and keep focused on my own goals without getting bogged down.16 -
My husband just took the donation bag to the charity shop. I added an ornament to it at the last minute.
I have been trying to tidy and declutter my kitchen today. When I declutter I find things I completely forgot I bought. Today it was a jar of hot chocolate mix and I found a bag of soda crystals I had totally forgotten about. I used the soda crystals to unblock the drain. I also found some mason jars I bought (very recently!) that I had forgotten about too. I said to myself that I would make overnight oats to have every morning and I did it precisely once. Lol.
We still have rubbish from the work we have had done on our house outside that needs to go to the skip, but our friend is coming over next week to do it. It is seriously annoying me.

I have also been trying to do something with kitchen this week but it is so hot even though it is no longer sunny. I had a go at top of cooker - not brilliant but much better than it was. Only been to hairdressers and Coop - bought their £5 offer - fish (2), scampi, chips, peas and magnums - all branded although they didn't have the small BE peas so gave me a large own label bag instead. I also got their 2 pizzas and 4 beers offer for £6 - all in freezer for children next week (not the beer). Got a ys fish pie for my tea. I am going to attempt some packing tonight. Out all day tomorrow.

Enjoyed my craft day.
Spoke to Mr F - he is so looking forward to coming home.
I am being very good when I take stuff to the charity shops - haven't bought a thing. I no longer get the urge to look round in the charity shops as since starting on the decluttering journey - I can see how much stuff is already in the house.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I didn't even manage to get through one shelf today. The decisions are taking a long time and I keep getting fatigued every few books and need to stop. I think this will be a long term declutter that will have to happen a bit a day. I did scan the shelves for some obvious books to go though and got rid of those.I randomly stalked the house and managed to scrape my way to 17,600 items! Probably just shows how much there is left to go... Tomorrow's little act of decluttering is spare buttons in case anyone wants to follow along with the website I posted earlier. 17,700 items is the next target.Digital:

... As I went through them, I uploaded each one to an app I downloaded to catalogue my collection. That way I avoid getting duplicates when I see a new book in a second hand shop!

Hi all, very slow day here. 1 umbrella in the bin as it wouldn't open properly and kitchen bin emptied. It was miserable weather for most of the day, grey and drizzly so nothing done outside. I have contacted a friend who would like my spare plant pots but she is away at the eisteddfod atm but will drop them off to her when she gets home so that will save them going to landfill
.
I have been searching the internet for OHs bil 's birthday present but have come to the conclusion I will have to go into town to find it. I might take the plunge tomorrow as the forecast is for more rain.
Not caught up yet today so I will do that after I post so hugs to anybody who would like one
898 umbrella binned
899 kitchen bin emptied
Take care everyone
