vulpix, I am curious as to whether or not you cooked your peperonata to a soft consistency or slightly crunchy? All that lovely space when DD1 & her BF take the camping gear 🥳 I need a mop that functions like Alexa - that will take itself out of the cupboard, do the mopping, rinse itself & put itself away 🤣 Lovely chatty post 😊 A busy few days ahead 😉
oceanspirit, pleased to hear that your DSis will be helping you to put items in the loft. Well done on having the bulk of the work done re OH moving in 👏
Excellent work getting your washing done Liverpool_Anne 👏 And well done on your session of self care 😊 If you are struggling to remember to have self care sessions, I think you probably need to put appointments in your calendar 😉
Sorry to hear that you woke up feeling down Florenceem 😔 Hope the medication review goes well 🤞
Excellent work Moorviews 👏 JJiJ seems to be working very well especially with all the Tip runs 🥳
You are welcome Deni_debt-free_dreamer 😊 Lessons in Chemistry sounds like a very interesting read 🙂 Great decluttering & well done on keeping your emails below 17k 👏 Hopefully you can declutter the bites really quickly 🤞
Dfw38 the zoo sounds like fun & being there all day means you got your monies worth - very MSE 😊
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏- not particularly slow from my point of view 😉
Florenceem, shame about both the cancelled buses & the poor job done re the job, dishwasher & wm, by the oven cleaner chap 😔 Well done on even more decluttering - 4 bags of stuff to CS 👏 There can’t be much more left to do 😉 Not fussy at all - you were paying for a job to be done so it should have been done properly 😔Well done on disposing of the cardboard boxes so quickly nannywindow 👏 Quite jealous that you had a ‘popping time’ 😅 We had similar weather but the sun didn’t come out until about 15:30 😔 I will pop round for some spaghetti bolognese later in the week 😉
stellata, well done on the eBay sale 👏 Good luck finding more items to sell 🍀 Long may your job last 🤞
Florenceem, very pleased to hear that MrF was in a much better mood today 😊 Proposed discharge date is just over two weeks away - the doctors obviously think MrF is making good progress 😊Hopefully a stairlift will not be required
weenancy, very scary to think that dehydration can have such a severe result 😧
QueenJess, so sorry to hear that both you & DS have caught a stomach bug 😔 Hopefully isolating yourselves will mean that DH & DD don’t catch it 🤞 I think you are right to use your first Wednesday off as a day of rest to fully recover from the bug 🙂 Excellent decluttering especially the digital decluttering 👏
Florenceem, I agree with QueenJess that your hob didn’t look that dirty to begin with 😉 We obviously have the same lowish standards 😂
Florenceem, the chap does appear to have made a really good job of cleaning the cooker hood filters 👏
All caught up 🤞 Hope everyone manages to get a good night’s sleep 😊
P.S. DSis’s old bed frame is on the drive as council collection is between 7:00 a.m & midday 🤞There is now quite a bit of space in the garage 👏

Hi all, I was back at OHs house today. I hadn't really planned to go but stupidly I left my secateurs there so decided to go and get them. While I was there I thought I might as well have a go in the garden. I was thwarted in my plan to go under the apple tree and head for the greenhouse when I spotted a collared dove sitting like a statue on a nest in the tree. She/ he didn't move an inch so must be sitting on eggs. Change of direction and headed behind the shed. Tackled the lower branches of a buddleia that has gone rampant and then I could get to the brambles and ivy under it. Luckily it wasn't too hot today, bit overcast, so 2 bags filled and taken to the tip. While there I found a dead sparrow on the patio. Big conundrum as I was sure I had heard if you find a dead bird to not touch it due to bird flu but I couldn't leave it there so picked it up with a plastic bag, then double bagged it and put it in the bin, scrubbed my hands straight away. I also emptied the kitchen bin at OHs as it was pretty full. Considering we aren't there much it's amazing how much rubbish we had in it. I then had a whizz around and collected various towels and tea towels and a grubby shower curtain and threw them in a bag, they went in the machine when I got home. I only realised when I put it on the line that the shower curtain had been used as a dust sheet when the bathroom ceiling had been painted, no wonder it was in a heap on the bathroom floor
. Well it's a cleanish dust sheet now
. When OH got home we recorded a video for a friends 70th surprise birthday party and sent it off to her sister as we are not attending. After tea I emptied the kitchen bin and recycling and as OH had cooked did the washing up. The rest of the evening I just watched some tv and started to crochet a scrap blanket. I want to make a start on something knitted for the baby but I couldn't concentrate enough so will hunt out some patterns tomorrow. I think this will be the first time I have ever had 2 things on the go at the same time yarn wise. Normally I refuse to start a new thing until I have finished the current job but I think the scrap blanket will take a while.
I haven't caught up with all the posts yet so I will try to do that either tonight or tomorrow and hope I haven't missed too much. Hugs to everyone who would like one

Still in Spain. it's raining this morning hence pottering / computer time. The weather has been lovely up until now so can't complain!
I was looking & feeling terribly run down before I came. It's a relief to look in the mirror and see my skin looking more healthy. I've not had any alcohol or fizzy drinks since I've been here so I imagine that, together with the sun and drinking loads of water, has helped.
I didn't do a great job packing and missed some vital items out - thankfully this town has 3 Charity shops which sorted me out. I might end up leaving some things here in which case I'll amend the numbering.Tasks:
Cancelled Netflix
Cancelled business email
IN (running total 90)
91. Cute Boden shorts (these will definitely be coming back with me)
92. White camisole (discovered that some of my white tops are transparent- this has solved the problem)
93. T Shirt nightie
94. Beach cover up - cute colour
95. Swimming trunks for DS
OUT (running total 407)
408. Dead bikini bottoms (thankfully I had packed another tankini set!)

MrsSD - the problem with the dishwasher was residue left from the powder that he used to clean it. I paid extra for the washing machine and dishwasher to be cleaned - £10 each. He offered to clean the microwave in the utility for £5 - it is brand new and not been used! Maybe he didn't notice the microwave in the kitchen as didn't offer to clean it - I had only done it the day before and probably did it to a higher standard - I didn't see him using any cotton buds!
I still haven't finished deep cleaning the bathroom - been working in there this morning.
I thought - it has finally happened - I've gone rusty - then I realised that it was bits from my new orange towel.
I have some lovely bruises from my fall last week.

Good morning.I will concentrate harder today and try not to make as many mistakes in my post.DD1 plane cancelled then back on then delayed. Once we collected them we went to the huge Asda near the etihad stadium so they could stock up on vegan foods that they can’t get in the Shetlands. It was 10pm by the time we were home and fed. The peperonata was the mushy kind.More errands to run after DD has finished her online work thing then off to Donington and Birmingham.I hope you and your son are feeling better today Queen Jess.More stuff in yesterday. Some hand cream and some storage jars from DD2. It evens out as I gave her 3 tops.Have a lovely holiday energy shifter. I love a charity shop. For the cruise I am going on my outfits will mostly be new to me. I will take my cruise shoes and see how I get on. I have had an operation on my foot since last I wore them so if I can’t tolerate them they will go when we come home.Florenceem I know what you mean about you doing a better job. I have got to the point where I have to admit I don’t have the energy I used to have and get people in.That reminds me the builder says he is coming to look at the kitchen this week. I have been collecting banana boxes for when I have to empty the kitchen.I am so tired. I couldn’t sleep last night, got up for the bathroom and the heating was on!🔥🔥🔥
can’t do numbers just now, my notebook is in the sitting room and DD in there wfh.Vx:18 -
DS got up this morning absolutely fine and has bounded off to school. I still haven't eaten anything bar some toast and that felt like a challenge, so it's looking like a quiet day at home for me. I am however stripping all the beds and changing all the towels in my ongoing efforts for DH and DD not to get sick.I've been watching decluttering/minimalism random videos online and after opening a kitchen drawer, already realised there was loads of stuff in there I don't need. So looks like I will be decluttering in little pieces today around the washing and just resting. I did cancel after school club for DS though, so hoping I feel better later so I can pick him up and hopefully come back via the park.Progress after opening one drawer:

Last of the food finally brought over yesterday - left OH enough for his final week - and menu plans over the next few months will be worked around the short dated items. We won’t need to buy much for a long while!Desk emptied ready to be collected on Friday, wardrobe reshuffled so lots of room for OH (well, his clothes) in there and now working on finally clearing ‘mission control’ off the breakfast bar. Once that’s done will double check that everything is ready for DSis to put away tomorrow.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅17

I'm jumping in. I've acquired house from ex via an occupation order pending sale of property to me. Ex has taken his stuff. I have been decluttering but "joining in" will help me keep the momentum going. I want to make this house my home and have been decluttering as I go but there is still more to go.
My china cupboard brings me the greatest joy and motivation as all the old mugs have gone (to charity shop) to be replaced with mine (gifts and finds at charity shop) and all the mis matched china from days of ex has also gone and been replaced with plain white bowls and plates gifted by a friend who was buying new.
The cupboard sums up what I want from my decluttered house, peace and calm and a sense of it being "mine" and a place of joy rather than the past
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!22
