welcome @Watty1 !!
sounds like simple is the thing for you to aim for!!! personally I don't mind different plates but I prefer them without chips or labels (neither of which bother my OH). I did love the idea from someone in my distant past who bought a different new complete place setting (wedgewood or royal doulton). So when he had a dinner party every one would have a different setting - which I think sounds quite jolly.
@Florenceem
is there a plan to have an occupational health person visit your place before MrF is released into the wild? that way they may well fund expensive items like stairlifts but will also provide simple items like zimmers, extra hand rails etc

I was telling a colleague about my new mop and she admitted to being a mopaholic.
So I've brought the Vileda mop (still in its bag)that has stood unused in my kitchen for years for her. She is thrilled. I have one more item out of the door. Win. Win 😊IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme15 -
Brie - I will ask about a home visit when I see Mr F tomorrow. Mr F is only 71 and not had a stroke so no physical reason for needing a zimmer frame. I have spoken to people today and they all said - don't allow them to send him home until you think he is fit.
Back from SA lunch club - short of volunteers today so I was kept busy.
Had a lovely lunch and pud plus caught up with folk that I hadn't seen for a while.
Need to change out of my uniform and crack on in the house.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

What a beautiful day! Dc were sent home from school because of gas leak 😲 I have been pottering around them and filling bags for the cs, will count them tomorrow when i load in car to take to the cs. There is so much stuff to still get rid of, most of it 'bitty' and that is flummoxing me for some reason! Going to head out to the park in a little while and will continue when dc are in bed.2024 decluttering Campaign

Well that didn't go that well. After putting the washing on and looking at a drawer in the kitchen I felt unwell again and so went to lie down. I've been decluttering in about 1 min intervals every now and again today and have already reached my target to the end of this week. I only looked at a few kitchen drawers, so I think I probably have a lot more to do in there.Over a month ago I added a memory box to my long term gift list as it was expensive. I looked back and although it is lovely, I just don't want it. I am happy with a white cardboard box with a nice sticker with my kids names on. So I ordered those (one for each) since they were not at all expensive, which also means I am going to have to sort their stuff out in the near future! I also ordered myself an in drawer knife block as I hate my knives sliding around the drawer and you have to be so careful when taking one of them out. Only took me 7 years to do that! I am now just having a think about organising some of the kitchen drawers in a better way, but of course I want to make sure they are completely decluttered first. I also opened the spice drawer, but it was too overwhelming, so closed it again after taking two empty jars out. That's for another day. It's definitely a work in progress.Maybe I should up my daily target to 15 from 10.Physical decluttering:
15,307-15,310 - instructions not needed (recycling)
15,311 - broken bit for something we no longer have (bin)
15,312 - tiny cleaning brush that’s useless (bin)
15,313 - apple corer I don’t use (Buy Nothing)
15,314 - plastic spoon DH got from a lunch out (bin)
15,315-15,316 - dishes we don’t use (charity bag)
15,317-15,318 - extra cooking spoons not needed (charity bag)
15,319 - broken key ring (bin)
15,320-15,321 - junk in kitchen drawers (bin)
15,322 - pie dish I never use (Buy Nothing)
15,323-15,324 - glass spice jars I don’t need (Buy Nothing)2025 decluttering: 5,050 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟🌟2025 use up challenge: 362🥉🥈🥇💎🏆Mini freezer challenge +4/-20Big kitchen declutter challenge 120/1502025 decluttering goals I Use up Challenge: 🥉365 🥈750 🥇1,000 💎2,000 🏆 3,000 👑 8,000 I 🥉12 🥈26 🥇52 💎 100 🏆 250 👑 50015 -

Dd1 will be home fro. Hols 21st and getting keys 28th so trying to arrange they've for her
As she doesn't know what time get keys suggested van for 29th. Does mean another week of stuff in my house

Thanks for the welcome. Decluttered the spice drawer/cupboard, out with a lot of out of date stuff that smelt musty and five spice powder the smell of which reminds me of the ex so I won't use that again for some years (he used it a lot cooking meals for himself). Grouped together stuff for "using up" as well.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!15 -

Just had drama by my house - I am one house up from traffic lights. A 10 year old boy on an electric scooter was being silly in the road and went through a red light. A car hit him and another car at the junction stopped in shock - driver jumped out without putting on the handbrake and her car rolled down the hill hitting 2 cars and a fence. The driver whose car rolled away and nearly hit a man with a child was in shock. The car driver who hit the boy has chronic asthma and the shock set off an attack. The boy seems to be fine and the asthma patient was on a nebuliser when I came indoors.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
