Morning All, aching a bit after our hike yesterday bit decided I need to keep moving today do lots of pottering. Decided to sort drawer under bed of exercise gear, lounge wear and painting clothes. Far too many things with price tags on! OH made a comment that I should of started with piles of clothing on the floor but I need to make room first to put them away! Now to hoover the draw out and put everything away.
Then will crack on with laundry and changing beds. I need to do things in stages so overwhelmed.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger condolences to you and your family.
Hope everyone has a nice Bank Holiday.18 -

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Bank Holiday Monday & I was up at 10:30. I have to admit to only sorting out my rucksack so far 😉 but the 2 bags are upstairs & I will sort when DH is up & about - although that might be some time as he is feeling unwell 🤒 He will have to cancel his visit to see his niece 😔 It is currently dull & overcast so might not do anything much other than try to catch up with the cheerleading 😉 Oh, I did do the wudupa last night before I went to bed 🙂 It had been touch & go but eventually I remembered how much nicer it is to wake up to a clear kitchen 😅

Great decluttering bit_by_bit 👏 Hope you had a great weekend with your sisters & that your de-hoarding was successful 🤞
You are very welcome retiredinfrance & thank you for the champagne 🍾 We did have a marvellous time in France & it was nice seeing all the old faces for the first time in 4 years 😊 The advantage of it being a smaller group was that I got to have some long chats with a few people that I had never really spoken to in the past 👏 I hope that you have taken photos of your area & DH’s 6 areas 😅 As to the handbags, why not keep them for a while before making & acting on any decision 😉 Excellent decluttering, especially the books 👏 I will watch out for the edit 😉
D1234567889, sorry to hear that illness has struck your household ☹️ The benefit of all the routines & decluttering you have in place now, is that once you are well again the tidy up will take far less time to deal with 🥳 I am very impressed that LO has taken up organising & cleaning her room on a weekly basis - she has earned another medal 🏅 to add to the 2 she already has 👏
Thanks for the technical advice Brie 👏
retiredinfrance, quite difficult to find Bodies when you need them 🤣 So sorry 😉
On that note I will post this & make myself another cuppa

I found a 5p coin the other day - just found £2.03. Been through a suitcase of clothes - no idea why they were in there - only kept 3 items out of the lot. Bike we found and put on lost/found/stolen local site & wasn't claimed - put out front with a free sign - gone. local site. Just put a suitcase on wheels outside. I have 2 Freeglers collecting items tonight. Thought a vintage piano stool and a nest of tables that I put on Freegle today would be snapped up but no takers yet. Good morning, just.I am so sorry to hear your news Mrs SD. I think it is some comfort that your Uncle passed at home in his chair. Still a shock though. X
Dfw38, I also have a tricky back but love gardening. I sit on the floor, have done for years! I am loving my garden this year. Previously there was no garden. It was only made last year and planted up late in the year with stuff in pots that I bought from the previous house. Some hasn’t survived but I am loving how it is starting to look. Lush.I am on the diet band wagon. A few trips away planned. I don’t want to have to buy bigger clothes and my back hurts after walking a short distance. A couple of years ago I lost 4 stone, last year was so hard and I am a comfort eater, you know the rest. Will update declutter numbers again.Vx:18 -

Florenceem, such great news (on Thursday) about MrF being so much more like ‘your MrF’ 😊 Such a relief for you now that he is ‘present’, I am so happy for you both 😊
Fizz2015, good luck with the paperwork & things’ 🍀 DH & I have still not sorted anything & we have been married for over 30 years 😔 Florenceem’s situation & my dear uncle dying over the weekend has brought everything into focus so we have finally decided that this is the year that we will get everything in place. Hopefully work went well 🤞
Florenceem, hope you managed to get the alarm sorted quickly 🤞
Sorry to hear that life is so stressful at the moment TC77 😔 You have such a lot going on so no wonder you’re in ‘paralysis re decluttering’ ☹️ Please, please read/re-read the responses to ‘gettingthrifty’s post. Lots of good ideas that might help you get on a more even keel 🤞Sending lots of hugs & positive vibes your way 🤗
Florenceem, I am in awe of the amount of decluttering you are doing 🤩 One more Gold Star ⭐️ coming your way 🙂
TC77, I know you have a lot on but perhaps make a start in your office now with maybe clearing your desk so that you can have your quiet area away from DD2 whilst she is studying/revising 🙂
Moorviews, sounds like you are making a good deal of progress with your decluttering 👏 I would like to thank you for sharing your decluttering journey with us 👏 Reading along, so much of what you said was a description of me except what I do is ‘rather like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic’ & I am forever making excuses as to why I am not tackling the urgent & important things that I need to do 😔However, I am inspired by not only your reply to gettingthrifty’s original post but also by everyone else’s responses 😊 Today is a Monday & the 1st day of the month which appeals to me so I will be trying to start an urgent task - wish me luck 🍀
Another page caught up 😉

Meanwhile - having tidied the greenhouse a bit yesterday I sorted out a few of the rucksacks. One is def for the bin I think but couldn't get the OH to engage so have left those out in the carport. 3 more rucksacks uncovered in the summer house - one that's full of hiking gear. I'll ask him to go through those this week. I want to get rid of some of this stuff as we are never going to use it again and there's lots of people kitting themselves up for summer adventures so it's prime time to recycle where possible. Amazed to think that OH has not one but two 55 litre rucksacks. Which means he was walking around with likely 100 pounds of stuff on his back while going up alps etc. How one's health changes over the years!!!
Have asked a nearby friend if she wants any of the excess seeds from the greenhouse and need to plant some of them too. Must get on with that. But despite it being a BH today I have an art class to go to in a bit so that will slow things down a tad.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. OH has accepted an offer on his house. Current plan is that he will temporarily move into the rabbit hutch (my place - it is very small). Decluttering pace in both properties needs to be ramped up as new people want to be in mid-June.
So far this weekend, all I have decluttered is a 2022 calendar. Oh dear…Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅18 -
@Florenceem I am heartened to hear of DH imporvement. Remember he may go back a few steps every now and again but this is hopeful.
Havea good visit today.
Such great thoughtful advice and support on here at the moment. Thankyou thankyou thankyou.
@gettingthrifty . You will refind yourself. Nothing stays the same forever. I love your reasons as they do resonate with me. I have copied them out and placed them in view by my 'puter.
A mix of good and sad news MrsSD. Big hugs.
So now I have caught up
Came home from portsmouth last night. Very tired today so nothing done yet.
I have to empty the car. Stepmum is downsizing and she gave me some great toys for grandsons. There are a lot that will need to go away for a while and some I am giving away. Also in the car a few items from Dsis who hoards. Not such a productive visit this time. She has gone back a few steps.
Coming home fromhers always gives me a bit more determination to get on with my stuff.
While away DH stripped out some of the campervan to make a new bed. What a sweetie.
Right off to do something.....
Have a great day all

Hi all
I am ploughing on in the background, juggling work and life
I have forgotten what I have and haven't recorded on here, but I am now up to 320 items- recent things to go are books, DD's outgrown clothes and a few lots of plastic recycling! I don't think anything has gone to landfill recently, in fact hardly anything has gone to landfill since I started, which is great!
Love to all, especially Mrs SD xx17
