Mr F's phone is one of my old ones as he is normally old style land line. There is another spare phone if his went missing but I very much doubt that anyone would want his old samsun.
Big number of decluttering today. Off to the bottle bank today - some of those will count - I am keeping to only counting stuff that was in the house on January 1st.
I plan to take some stuff to the charity shop as well when I go into town. Then I have to get a bus to the garden centre as they have a Paver. outlet so I can buy some new comfy shoes. I can't carry on wearing my old pair as they will be dangerous - all I need now is a fall and to break something.

Found myself looking online at storage boxes for the upstairs cupboard this morning. So I've quashed my hankering for some nice cardboard (non-plastic) boxes as storage requirements normally mean I need to declutter. The cupboard is a bit of a long-standing puzzle. It takes me forever to work through what I need and what will work best and I haven't quite worked out how to get everything into the cupboard even though I don't think I have a silly amount in there. It's mainly the spare bedding for the foldout beds that's big.Anyway, my challenge for this week will be going through the cupboard to be more minimalist about what is in there. No storage solutions to be considered unless absolutely necessary. I already halved the salvaged wrapping paper and packaging in there earlier this year, but there is more to be done. I opened the packaging box (all saved from parcels etc) and excluding cardboard boxes in the attic and the random bits of bubblewrap, I have 42 bags/jiffy bags to be used up. Most of them are the annoying small ones, but I do use them to put Buy Nothing stuff in. So today I am scouring the house for bits and pieces to go on Buy Nothing. Will count up the packaging at the end of the week and see how far I've come! I don't "need" any of it since I have a big roll of brown paper which covers all eventualities and I've been shopping as little as I can this year (was buying slightly too much online).2025 decluttering: 3,984🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

I'm just curious: was there really a nationwide alarm test on all mobile phones in the UK, or did I accidentally forward a hoax?

Spring range in Paver. so no comfy boots and none in the warehouse to order. I tried 5 pairs of shoes on before settling for Sketche. trainers - very comfy but I need something to wear with casual SA uniform for wet weather. I needed shoes today as mine are dangerous. I have ordered a pair of leather closed in shoes - expense I can do without. Plus I changed my pin number and it wouldn't work.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Finally managed to drag myself out of bed just before noon. Monday is dull & overcast with the threat of rain 😔 So now that I have my first cuppa, I will go straight into cheerleading 😉
Brie, sorry but I had to smile at your comment “OH has declared again that he's going to start decluttering. And has now gone to listen to jazz records and read. Well he did say "but not today"” 😁Hope you find enough time & Good luck to clear the carport of enough items to fill the wheelie bin 🍀🤞 Re your 4 kits, I would spend all day & night watching them & taking photos 🙊
Useful advice from DS2 re Lego GrannyKate 👏 Well done on not buying anything at the car boot or antique centre & also resisting the lure of cake 👏😇
Great work recalculating the household budget Florianatwobob 👏 Your description of tidying up your bedroom & the cupboard had me imagining all sorts of weird scenarios including splitting yourself in half from head to toe 😂
Great decluttering Rootle 👏 Fingers crossed that the bathroom fitters are quick & efficient 🤞
TC77, can the emails with large attachments be saved to an external flash drive - whatever that means 😉 I am really not very technically minded but thought I should at least start trying to understand the intricacies of computer use 😔
EnergyShifter, pleased to hear that Marathon Day transport issues didn’t make you late 🙂 So sorry to hear that DS’s dad is such a selfish & inconsiderate man especially re fatherhood 😔 Although your frustration & disappointment at his attitude does get turned into positive action of decluttering blitzes 😉🙃 Excellent work 👏
Taking a quick break as my attention is straying & I will be back shortly.
