Hello everyone. We braved the rain and went to see Frozen the musical in the west end. LO loved it, and so did we. It was a great day out.
Am still in maintenance mode re decluttering and cleaning. Just about managing to keep up. 😊

Hello! Even though I have a day off tomorrow still have a case of the scary Sundays…last week was ultra busy work wise and body has decided to screw around with something else. I’ve been in touch with my NET team and asked for an earlier appointment than June. The sensible part of me keeps saying yes it’s incurable cancer but the nasties are tiny and slow and so many others have it much worse and why are you moaning and the 6 year old in me is having a temper tantrum stamping feet and shouting it’s not fair. On top of that having had a bleed on the brain in 2015 I want to see if I can claim PIP and then possibly look to reduce my hours but it looks like an absolute minefield 😢
PLUS both dogs had expensive vets visits - dog 1 has completely sheared her cruciate ligament and dog 2 has sheared a claw which is incredibly painful for him. Thank god for insurance as dog 1 operation is £3k…..
So time in the TLC carriage I think with dog let’s having cwtches…..⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

Trying to catch up.
Interesting about turning carpet offcuts into mats.... I had new carpet in my 'office' wool mix and the room still smells...carpet firm coming round to see it, it's been 6-7 weeks so I don't understand why it smells.
Had couple of nights at my dad's house but got distracted watching Happy Valley, and then thought I'd lost all my credit cards only after an hour of looking and phoning places I'd been found it on a shelf (there is so much stuff still and I don't have a routine). Then later after being to shops couldn't find it again, and decided to wait til today then had a repeat performance and was ready to ask my Dnephew to lend me money (V emabarrasing) when I moved the hoover only to find it underneath (its only credit card size) must have fallen out of my coat and then I was moving things around. Lesson to be more mindful where I put things. DN helped me bring more out of the loft, Edwardian commode, hat box and around 7 vintage suitcases - mostly empty but some curtains and bedding, some photo framing stuff (mounts etc), a stand for golf clubs my dad had made - DN took it and my dad's C1948 dinner suit (told him to get alterations done by someone good as fab material and in great condition),, little folding table, odds and ends, one bag we put as rubbish, but left armchair and a large trunk up there - lots for me to sort through and do a tip run when I go down during the week. Meant to have leave all week but going to work tomorrow.
DN helped put a small sideboard in my car and secure it and DD2 helped take it out. Picked up a box of stuff from DD1 but need DD2 to help get it out tomorrow. 2 items sold and will count when posted, and update nos tomorrow.

Hi all, very lazy day here. I don't know if it was the clock change or what but I have felt grotty all day. I was up quite early but fell asleep after lunch. I have done a covid test, negative, so I am hoping my b12 jab next week will sort me out. Took the bedroom curtains down and washed them, cleaned the window sill and windows and hoovered the rail etc. dust is a problem in this house. Curtains back up mostly dry but the morning sun will finish them. OH says better than dust
. Bedroom bin emptied, kitchen bin emptied and kitchen recycling bin emptied. After tea I did some crochet and watched another film, the darkest hour which I thought was very interesting.
@Mrs SD, you are a card. The position I played was the supporter of 1 team surrounded by supporters of the opposition
It was a legends game of ex players. They usually play at least one game a year to raise funds for the clubs charities that supports work in the community. There were 40,000 attended, lots of children go, and it's always nice to see ex players. The opposition supporters of this team are also a great laugh so a good friendly time had by all.
@florianatwobob what a shame about the pots, maybe we can knit them some winter jackets.. I too love a glazed pot and have a few dotted around the garden. I would be very upset if I lost them to the frost, though I have lost a chimenea to the frost. I am not brilliant with house plants and kill them regularly though I do keep trying
@~FlowerPot~ what a great job, people will always need help for sore feet
@Vulpix that's a very busy day offhave you managed to sort your Drs appointment? Good luck with the bathroom next week
@Muddy_Walker hugs
@Soontobeoap, well done on the Christmas cards
@TC77, great work at your Dad's, it sounds like you have found some treasures
Hugs to everyone who would like one
558 bedroom bin emptied
559 kitchen bin emptied

Take care everyone

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday I got up & dressed about 11:05 & made a cuppa. DH was already up watching the first MotoGP races of the season. I switched on the TV to watch, drank half my tea & promptly fell asleep until 13:30 😔 Now have a fresh drink. DH left for his walk @ 15:00. I have finished the last of the hm soup for lunch. I am still in sloth mode & clearing down a few more programmes from TV planner. So much for the clocks jumping forward to signal the start of BST 😔 Today is colder than it has been for a while - temperatures are in single digits 😔 I had a little flurry in the kitchen - wudupa, wiped down worktops, scrubbed sinks. DH phoned at 17:00 now on his way home from Bow Church. DSis has been busy in her room - large black bin bag of detritus 🙄 + large plastic container of recycling. I am still clearing down programmes from planner - currently Guy Martin’s Great British Power Trip 🙂 DH home 17:45.
I cooked pork steak, mash & cabbage for DSis’s dinner because DH & I were having the last HF meal - coconut & lentil curry with spinach & naan bread. We decided we could take it or leave it - although it will probably help to chase away our colds 😅 Wudupa
883 - 887 Kitchen recycling, cardboard packaging, plastic container of recycling, magazine, drinks cans - recycled
888 - 889 Kitchen detritus, plastic packaging - binned
Great decluttering florianatwobob 👏 Hope Sunday was dry enough for your shed declutter 🤞
~FlowerPot~ you might have to become a travelling chiropodist 😂 You have your first two customers - Liverpool_Anne & Wednesday2000 & I would be your third 😉 Excellent work in the greenhouse 👏Fingers crossed that all your old seeds germinate 🤞 When does DS2 leave for Nepal? What an exciting adventure 🤩
Excellent digital decluttering QueenJess 👏 Well done on cleaning the washing machine 👏 I have added that to my To Do List 😔 Good luck with tidying the kitchen & your bedroom + decluttering toys 🍀
Brie, lucky you having an OH who cooks without being asked 😊 Extra 1.5 portions with added mushrooms - yummy 😋 My surefire method of only getting a few emails is not to subscribe to anything 🤣 You are very well organised re holiday receipts 👏 I deal with mine when I receive my paper credit card statement 😉
vulpix, Very pleased to hear that both you & MrV have taken Sunday off from rushing around 😊 How lovely that your MiL’s collectibles are displayed in the church shop window - she obviously had very good taste 🙂 Excellent work tidying & sorting and well done on only bringing a few items home & putting them away 👏 Fingers crossed that the garage can be emptied completely on Wednesday 🤞Hopefully the 2 large boxes won’t take too long to be sorted 🤞Sorting out MiL’s house might have been stressful but definitely a silver lining that you are being more ruthless with your own decluttering 👏 Good luck with completing the rocking chair renovations before DS2 turns up 🍀 So nice that ‘This Thread’ brought you & bit_by_bit together 😊 One of the more unusual ways to gain a friend 😉
Florenceem, You were so busy on Saturday that I am not surprised you were still tired on Sunday 😔How fortunate that MrF was able to watch the church service online 🙂
Great news that you have received your new passport, Foofoopuppy 😊 & good luck saving up for your trip to America 🍀 Great decluttering 👏 I am awarding your dad a medal 🏅 for not only repairing your stairs but also saving you a fortune - what a lovely dad ☺️
D123456789, I take it LO knows the words to all the songs in Frozen 😉 You probably do too 😉😉 Well done on keeping up with your maintenance decluttering & cleaning 👏
Oh Muddy_Walker, so sorry to hear that your body is finding new ways to torment you ☹️ Everything crossed that you can bring forward your meeting with your NET team 🤞 I think you and both dogs should make your way to the TLC Carriage as quickly as possible. Then all three of you can receive lots of cwtches 🤗
So very sorry to hear that you have been so unwell, Soontobeoap ☹️ Hopefully you are on the mend now 🤞I think you are being a bit mean to yourself only counting making 99 Christmas cards as One 😔I think 10 cards = 1, so 99 = 10 added to your total 😊
TC77, hope you can get the ‘new carpet smell’ sorted as it definitely doesn’t sound right 😔 Re the errant ‘wallet’ is there an inside pocket with zip in your coat? Excellent work by both you & your nephew 👏 Far easier to sort ‘stuff’ when it is out of the loft 🙂 Please don’t spend too much time at work tomorrow 🙏 Very pleased to hear that the small sideboard is now in your house 👏
Liverpool_Anne, Sorry to hear that you were feeling grotty all day Sunday ☹️ Probably a combination of the lost hour & ‘wrong weather for the time of year’ 😔 Fingers crossed that your B12 injection will give you a boost 🤞 Even though you felt grotty, you did an amazing amount of work 👏 Lovely cheerleading post 😊 The footy match sounds like an absolute ‘blast’ 🤩
Oops, just seen the time so I am off to bed. Hugs to everyone 🤗

The rain came yesterday and didn’t leave until after 1pm. So had a rummage inside instead. DBro had indicated a part series of books that could leave so they were scanned and either put in the Ziffit box or the charity bag as appropriate.Due to late start the shed sort wasn’t as effective. That said I did locate the houseplant compost and split one peace lily into two. DSis found some if the garden lights and put them out. Hopefully no rain next weekend.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

A bit plodding this week but still managed to take some bags of items to the charity shop and to the clothing bank. Also, one trip to the recycling centre with a car boot full. Literally, seems to make absolutely no difference to what we still have here! I can understand why the television programmes always say at least 50% needs to go, as otherwise there is still far too much. I suspect that we are in this category really, even though most stuff is in cupboards. It feels like I am just tickling around the edges rather than being radical enough.I have bought myself 3 new long sleeve t shirts and 3 new sweatshirts for the summer in a sale. My 3 old Ts are well over 7 years old, complete with stains and holes and have gone into the gardening drawer for now. It will help stop me from ruining the new ones. I’ve got 3 jumpers earmarked for going to the clothing bank as I don’t really enjoy wearing them anymore. I’ve already ragged two disintegrating fleeces.@Muddy_Walker - You have such a lot going on and it sounds really hard. I hope that you can get your appointment earlier. You and your dogs certainly need some respite in the TLC carriage. Take care 💐🍰
@Liverpool_Anne - I hope you feel better today.@TC77 - well done for all the hard work at your dad’s house.@Soontobeoap - sorry to hear that you have been unwell but well done for putting the time to good use and getting all those cards made.16 -
@Liverpool_Anne and @Moorviews, the work of bringing down was by DNephew. He also took a few tools, we also found box of mum's old school and other magazines, old cameras,, hat boxes with I think my grandmother's wedding veil (I no longer have anything from my wedding but then I am divorced!), and downstairs there's a suitcase of my mum's with all her early social work books/notes really interesting from social history - leaflet how benefits and support for TB patients, advice on the new welfare state etc. This will be for a later date. And more photos!
DN will come back to help break up old furniture in sheds which need to go to tip etc Still looks as if nothing has gone out - my house is similar
@Moorviews, I will be watching and cheering you on your decluttering journey (and others), and think 50% of things is probably right but many will be the smaller things. I think on the pen/pencil front we probably have well over 500 of them between DD2 and me, as have sets of coloured pencils. Just brought a pencil case of pencils back from my dad's - he kept v small ones as there are 4 and 6 B etc - still waiting to find the pencil extender which I put in a safe place. Think it's @QueenJess who has one!
Today is finishing off work before the rest of the week off and some frogs.
The sun is out here and hope everyone has a good week x16 -
Morning all
I decluttered 18k steps on Saturday night as i did a charity walk! It was good but hard as we walked up a steep hill then back down and through a forest etc. I think i may have also lost an inch in height
Yesterday I did a short walk, to make sure I still had use of my legs! I dropped off a load of batteries that have been on the breakfast bar and then a bag of soft plasticsI also cleaned out the fridge, no food wasted but I did make a veggie roast and a pasta bake to use up some food that was past its best. Good use of the oven and my tea is made for tonight so that was a win:win. Going into the office now.
Hugs to those struggling
Love Deni xx
Mrs S_D - thank you for my starNot sure I know how to add it to my sig but I'll have a go later xx
