Hugs Dfw, in some ways it's good to be prepared rather than it happen suddenly and unexpectedly. The husband of the woman who looked after me when I was a child died in hospital. he spent his last week there and his daughter sat by his bedside, holding his hand (he was asleep/ unconscious) and talking gently to him for hours - I spent one evening with them). i just thought that was a lovely way to die (not in any pain, just drifting but time to say goodbye properly and she did it so beautifully and compassionately)
Mrs SD I hope you get Mr SD safely home today.
My day out got cancelled. There was a message yesterday but I only saw it this morning. DS2 is projectile vomiting so had to cancel. I asked what the baby got her mum - some flowers and was treating her to a nice day out. She can't even have breakfast in bed because obviously she doesn't want to eat anything prepared by DS2.
I'm thinking about my aches and pains and will do some gentle pampering (lavender sleep balm on my creaky knees) to make myself more comfortable. I will wear one of my nice dresses (my outfit for the past 2 days was manky past their best leggings, a long t-shirt nightie which had a bleach accident a while ago and a black and white top liberally adorned with with blue paint (mum's decking paint). The weather doesn't look promising or I'd go for a bus ride and I really don't fancy pushing my way through crowded places.
DS3 bought me a Chinese meal last night (I only ate part of it) and then Beloved gifted me a curry and some raita (I have tenderstem broccoli - yum, delicious and healthy) and I will add lots of vegetables to make them healthier and go further. I might decide on a film to watch. I might watch AI but it always makes me cry, I feel so sorry for the poor little robot boy. Then DS1 told me that the film ending is more cheerful than the book which finishes under the water with him looking at the blue angel (no rescue by aliens).
After I left you yesterday moved on the laundry in the WM and set a new load off, DS3 emptied the DW and put things away, then I reloaded it (it was so dark that I lit six candles so I could see what I was doing). Three trays full of bns, courgette, aubergine, quartered red onions and a few mushrooms were roasted in the oven and I chopped up carrot and cucumber sticks (all prepared sitting on the couch - I would have been lying on the couch but DS3 came down).
This is the nearest I can get to a picture of the platypus but ours is all light brown (lighter than milk chocolate) https://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Noble-Collection-Niffler-Plush/dp/B076F7YVMS/ref=asc_df_B076F7YVMS/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310821119707&hvp
and ours has a nicer beak (very ducklike)

lindos90 said:I've only just spotted this thread, is it too late to join for 2023? I really need a boost to push our decluttering. In my money saving ambitions I have accumulated lots of things over the years! Our eldest is just about to buy his own place, other son at Uni and youngest DD will hopefully soon be going to Uni. Husband recently went part time, with a view to retiring as soon as we can afford it. Downsizing is therefore on the horizon. It would really help me to focus on decluttering if I could join in here, to keep me focused and motivated 😁2025 decluttering: 3,958🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Not much useful done yesterday except going to noisy 8 year old's party. DD coming up Tuesday as working nearer me than her home which will be nice. Suspect she is bringing all her Easter stuff but she is taking loads of spare towels away with her. Will probably go to antique centre with DS2 later and we have some steak for tea.
423 Ordered salt for water softener as down to last block. Only ordered 6 this time as last time I got 24 and there was nowhere to store it - very heavy to lift as well.
424 Sorted and filed all DS2's legal papers, letters etc.
Hope all goes well today MrsSD and hugs @Dfw38 and anyone else who needs one. Welcome @lindos90 - we are all very supportive and friendly on here and spur each other on with new ideas.
Quick edit to say I put the last 1lb that I lost back on again so at 6lbs not the magic 7lbs(half a stone). I will be very strict with myself this week.2025 Decluttering Campaign 697/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

I think i am too comic sans for his courier 🤣 He said he'd come to Wembley with me if Luton get to the play off final last year - they didn't but look like strong contenders for this year and I'll be in Singapore 😭 I know shouldn't complain about a work paid trip to Singapore but honestly the timing...Mrs_Salad_Dodger said:DundeeDoll, I always enjoy reading about DrM, all I can think is that you are too much woman for him 😉
Hope your DH is recovering well 😘
Not posted since Tuesday (so had 119 of your lovely messages to catch up on before posting this - fabulous progress everyone) but have been doing my 23 minutes (sometimes plus) each day and now have larger bookcase in my bedroom which takes all the books from the two smaller ones, one smaller one down in music room to hold my piano music, electric 'stove' back in my alcove for my hygge place in my bedroom, broken lamp decluttered, billy up in office, small drawers under coat rack for hats and gloves and scarves, another small drawers up from music room to office (smaller drawers, more suited to paper, pens and blunt scissors 🤣) mum's round table which was blocking the under stair cupboard now next to piano to hold angle poise lamp. Phew. oh and a bit more unpacking at office. Way to go! sadly email declutter has had to take a breather as work very very busy last week ditto this week. maybe back to that April, but for now concentrating on getting bedroom, office and piano room sorted by end of March, and thinking that is now highly possibleMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Great news Mrs SD.
I couldn't read the Dilly book as the format came out wrong on my kindle so I returned it for a refund. I read other people said the same on Amazon. I bought the hardcover book instead along with a couple of other books. I am not going out much as I'm trying to save money so I thought I would get some interesting books to read at home. I read the Mel B autobiography yesterday and gave it to my husband to read on his commute. I have the Paris Hilton autobiography to read too. I deleted a book from my kindle yesterday as I couldn't get into it at all. I haven't been doing much decluttering and still haven't taken the bag to the charity shop. I will include the books in the bag when I read them, but I think I will keep the Dilly book in case I wanted to refer to it again.
When I drop off the donation bag to the charity shop I want to look for some books there as they had books for 10 pence last time. I really need to go to the library too as I joined when I moved here, but have never checked a book out!
I had a dream last night that I was decluttering lots of things from "my" car. I don't have a car and don't even know how to drive! Lol.
Eating down the food we have in the freezer and cupboards is going well. Meal planning is really helping me make sure we don't waste food.
Right, I am going to have a shower, get dressed, go for a walk and then read the Dilly book when I get home.

Good morning friends. No early morning email from DH so nothing extra to report ☹️ I managed a solid 2 hour sleep followed by a 3 hour sleep 🙂 I am up but not dressed & am about to have my first cuppa 🫖. It is dull & overcast at the moment but there is no rain forecast 🤞 I will do a bit of cheerleading whilst I wait DH’s 1st message 🙂
Liverpool_Anne, I suppose you shouldn’t be too surprised that Thursday’s good intentions for sorting out the toiletries drawer were derailed 😉 Seems to be the ‘way of things’ 😔 However well done on the rest of the tasks that you managed to start and complete 👏 Lovely to catch up with In especially after a busy week 😊 Please take care when pulling out furniture 🙏 the last thing you need is to strain your back 😔
Thanks for my flowers EnergyShifter 👏
Hugs & best wishes gratefully received GrannyKate 🙂 Good work on your photo sorting on Friday 👏
Lovely flooring florianatwobob 🙂 That is an excellent curve around the loo base - OH obviously had the correct tools & is very skilled 👏
wort, Thanks for the info about Red Nose merchandise. I must say that although the Beeb advertised a lot, the merchandising seems to have been rather less than in previous years ☹️
Wednesday2000, hope you managed to get a bit of inspiration from Dilly’s book which you started reading on Friday 😉
ruby_eskimo, Thanks for the kind wishes re my DH 👏 Excellent decluttering 👏 & well done on keeping up with the day to day cleaning & keeping your home tidy 👏
Just had a message from DH - he slept OK (ish) Heart rate has settled down into its usual steady 40’s so now just waiting for doctors rounds 🤞
Back later to continue cheerleading 😉
