Got a few things done this weekend - Di emptied one box of books from the horde - only 15 more to go. Jason cut down the weed that was blocking part of the yard - it was already over my head, so at least 5 feet high. Cleared 20 empty 12-pack of drink boxes (empty) from George's room. Also two bags of trash. Still have to bring the first bag of empty cans down or get someone else too. Got rid of what to me has been a major frog - the foam mattress topper off my bed. It was starting to dissolve into bits of foam. I will look into getting a new mattress someday. My mother, bless her, bought me the best one she could afford at the time and it has stood the test. Still going strong after she bought it for me - in 1967! Still in good shape. Of course, with cats in the family, I don't move around much on the bed once I am in there. Sort of pinned in one place. Counted over 80 empty food boxes to go in the trash today. And finally made the appointment to get started on getting the cataract surgery for both eyes (one at a time). Felt like I should head to the TLC carriage after coming home from Physical Therapy today. Only two more appointments to go.
Hang in there everyone.15 -
Dfw38 - I feel the same way about the elves trying to trip me around the house. I know it can't be the relatives, as they know what they would be getting into if something did happen - it will take months to clean things up and the life insurance won't cover it!15

@weenancyinAmerica ha ha ha, ours would be covered financially but if they can hold on for about another year the house should be decluttered enough to be reasonable 🤣2024 decluttering Campaign

Dfw38 my house can feel like an obstacle course, I do try and keep the hall clear but DD2 does not put her shoes anywhere near the rack or even the wall!
Couple of frogs and sorted out DD2 login details for a video call, last one was a telephone call with hearing therapy! Don't quite get that so hoping video more effective. Went to the supermarket to get cat food, opened the boot and found it already full of cat food and other things! can't park outside my house and only drive for a big shop so often only take cold things in meaning to go back! Assistant at A*da kindly opened the check out for me so I didn't have to use the self serve - made my evening, do think happiness is made up for these small things, as know life has major ups and downs so the small things really count

Hi all, the only thing decluttered today is food taken to friend's house for her new kitchen, 2 apple crumble, 2 lasagne, 3 lemon possit and garlic mushrooms. Had a lovely lunch and a walk around her little village. We went into a shop that sells all sorts of furniture bits as I had admired her new lampshade and I need a couple for the hall and landing. Unfortunately there was nothing there to suit. Lots of other nice things but I resisted
. Friend bought a rather nice chair that fitted in the back of my car so no need for delivery
. Then home to change and straight out to the footy match. Home after 11 and had some food then collapsed on the sofa until I could drag myself up to bed. Back to the decluttering tomorrow

Take care everyone

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
🙊 I never did come back 😬 Someone mentioned checking Bookmarks, so I have spent some time on this - now a lot fewer entries under each bookmark 😉
Dinner was the last of the beef in gravy with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings (for DH & DSis), mixed veg (from freezer) & carrots for DSis but DH & I had the last of the kale + last of the sprouts with bacon bits, chestnuts & the last of the maple syrup. Rather pleased with the beef joint - 9 dinners & it was YS 🥳 DH washed up the pans, I dried & put away. After dinner I nodded off for a couple of hours which of course means I am now wide awake 😉Wudupa the crockery & cutlery plus baking trays.

Liverpool_Anne, you might have had a slower day on Sunday but you still got a lot done 👏 I am especially impressed at how many items you are donating for the tombola 🙂 Sounds like have a lovely week ahead of you - 4 lunches with ex colleagues & footy 😊 Remember that a non stop day should always be followed by a slower day otherwise you risk burn out 😉
Good work wort 👏
Off to bed now, see you later

Morning, Thank you so much for all the warm wishes, hugs and everything else. 🤗 My DD had a 24 hour stomach bug but soon bounced back from it. Drove to Somerset Friday afternoon, spent time with my nan on Saturday morning and she passed peacefully Saturday afternoon. She was in the late stages of dementia and she slipped away in her care home with my Aunty with her. There was no medical interventions or hospital treatment needed and she was comfortable.Sunday I spent time with my sister and her family then a close friend to give my mum space as I was staying with her. DD loved seeing her cousins. After that weekend, DD was very happy when I stopped in Mcd's for tea and we had mcflurries for desert. Then on Monday my stepdad was taken into hospital by ambulance. Now on ICU (he has COPD and been treated for chest infection) but he's quite poorly. Not sure how much more can be thrown at me. I'm a great believer in everything happens for a reason but at the moment I'm struggling to see that.I have leave today and practicing self-care will be spending it with a friend and we are going hiking. Decluttering is currently on pause!20

Starting the day by awarding myself 5 points for sending the big frog on its way. A relief to see it gone - we wait now for any response. I have 4 things on my to do list which will definitely cost money (boiler service, oven clean, eye test, dentist) so will organise one of those today. DGC3 is going to come swimming with me this morning. Doctors tomorrow. I won £5 yesterday on a charity lottery which I have been doing for several years - every little helps and it turned out I could pay cheque in via the App on my account.
230-234 Giant frog munched up in sections and it has left the building
235 A fairly new harging cable died - in electrical bag for recycling in hall. Will drop off later in week when it is open.
236 Cheque paid in on App - that's a first for me and saves driving into town
