My Mum asked me to empty a blanket box of curtains and empty her dressing table. Saved all the things I knew she would want.
She had said most of it could go to the charity shop. My brother is going to sell her bedroom suite as the tenant has his own furniture. Took her a big box of jewellery as she asked and told my brother that I had 2 black bags of stuff in the car. And so it begins. He said that she needed to go through them. Brought them in and told Mum I can't help declutter anymore. I will not put myself in the position I have been in before where he accused me of stealing anything of value from my parents. When the kids have collected their stuff I will give her the key back. Sad times.
I have begun to make the curtains. Currently unpicking them, they are truly massive.

I've been trying to book a charity shop to come and collect our bits - we've got two full boxes of crockery, a TV stand, a box of assorted bric a brac and two bags of clothes so too much to take round ourselves - and no !!!!!! wants any of it
At this rate it'll just be going down the tip as I need it gone before the baby arrive in March (hopefully!).

I am dropping off another two bags of clothes today. We are going to an army surplus store that is closing down (after 70 years!) and they are having a sale though so we might come back with more clothes if we see any bargains. My husband will wear those types of clothes and jumpers for work.2025 GOALS

@kiss_me_now9 maybe try olio ? It’s quick and easy to list and I have had a lot of success with leaving things outside for collection at agreed time. You could even list whole lot as a bundle. 😊
we are at Grandmas for a few days and I have cleared the last cupboard in my childhood room and taken it to the charity shop. I also found a few gems for LO to take home 😊
not sure what time you will be reading this Mrs SD but “go to bed” 😴 even Superwomen need their rest 😉16 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Tuesday is another bright sunny day. I was up & dressed before 11:00 a.m. & am just having my first cuppa. I have no plans other than to get caught up with the cheerleading & anything else will be a bonus. Still no sign of my replacement stamps 😔 DH’s new knee support has just arrived so 🤞it fits. DH is very excited - not only does the knee brace fit but it is comfortable 😊 He is raring to go on a training walk 🥳 DH has just set off on his first walk 1:30 p.m.
Lovely post Moorviews 😊 So sorry to hear about the lost card 😔 Very interesting observation about some bullies realising the error of their ways & apologising. Great decluttering 👏 & good luck with the emptying & disposal of the large piece of furniture 🍀 Absolutely everything that can be crossed is being crossed that you win the ‘debate’ about replacement furniture 🤞 Perhaps locate some photos/pictures or maybe a mirror & hang them immediately the furniture item has left the premises 😂😉
Great decluttering GrannyKate especially dealing with the frog 👏 Make the most of your time without the DGCs as it sounds like you are going to be kept very busy on Thursday & Friday 😅 The snowdrop walk sounds lovely ☺️
vulpix, it sounds like your kitchen is the next big project. Trying to put a different spin on it - first let your imagination run wild with a list of everything you would like in your perfect kitchen 😊Then whittle the list down to the most important features with measurements. Lastly a scale drawing with dimensions & placement of doors & windows and anything else immovable which can be done digitally. Then just play 🙂 You obviously have a good eye as evidenced by your successful renovation of your sitting room, so I have every faith that you will succeed 👏 The snowdrops sound beautiful 😍 I think it was very short sighted of your DS’s school to just punish your son rather than using it as an example of bullying being unacceptable & I admire you for letting the school know that you were proud of him. He really should have been Head Boy - Rules or not 👏 P.S. have you found the pan?
Congratulations on your garden declutter Brie 👏 Your garden sounds wonderful & well done on finding such a great gardener 😊 It must be lovely to sit outside & watch the wildlife 😊
QueenJess, sorry to hear that you are still ill & that the ear infection is causing you problems ☹️ (have you checked that it isn’t caused by a tooth or gum problem? I only ask because for years I had ear infections on & off - each time knocked back by antibiotics. Eventually my dentist confirmed that it was due to an infected area in my gums. Tooth extracted, no more ear infections 😮💨) However well done on using your resting time to such good effect - lots of TLC & using up or decluttering of make up/moisturisers etc. 👏 You might not be feeling good but at least you are looking good 😊
Congratulations on finding the missing paperwork vulpix 👏 & wishing you success in locating the large pan 🙂 Lovely supportive post 😊
QueenJess, very impressive ‘Top Contributor’
Great decluttering Florenceem - still ahead of target 👏 Very pragmatic & kind of SA - gives everyone a rest & ensures that everyone stays both fit & happy 😊 With 7 bags being dropped off at CS I imagine you will have a clear hallway 🙂 ready for your next load of bags 😉
MuddyWalker, thanks for that very useful information 👏 Sadly the problem with DH’s knee is that he had a bad motorcycle accident in 2011. NHS at its finest meant that his leg was mended but has 12” of metalwork (looks like a curly wurly 😉) in his leg, which stops just above the knee cap. Lots of physio but his leg is now about half an inch shorter than the other one & his knee doesn’t have full bend anymore ☹️ As they say it is what it is & we are both exceedingly grateful as it could have been so much worse.
Floss, interesting point 🤔 I never knew there were so many S footwear brands 😉
EnergyShifter, you are obviously a solar panel 😉 Remember, completing cleaning tasks IS decluttering 👏
nu1isit?, well done on decluttering your ‘Justin’ worry/dirty coat 👏
Great decluttering QueenJess 👏 and thanks for the timely reminder ‘to use rather than lose’ 😊
I have caught up a little but fancy a break so will come back later 🙂
