Started early today, 2 vases and a card file thing to the charity shop. I'm not gna have a target I'm just going to keep going and use this group for motivation. I've ordered a new vacuum so that's on its way to help with the cupboards!Magnolia Stellata17

Brie said:Question to the group.....do you store stuff in your car?
Lots of times i'll leave things in the boot - the warehouse clearance box of coffee pods which won't fit in the kitchen cupboard for instance but that's fine as it's temporary. I have, however, a pair of slippers in the back of my car that I bought when visiting family overseas early in 2020. They were meant for MiL but turned out not to fit her so I popped them in a sturdy envelope intending to ebay them. But they were in the way so they went into the back of the car. And have remained for nearly 3 years.
I should ebay them (price new is about £60 but if I got £20 that would be great) so what's stopping me. Other than the fact I've never sold anything on ebay. (bought things a couple of times but that's it.) I really should do this as we also have a hankie from the 1960s that was a comic book promo item featuring Batman and Robin. I've seen similar on ebay for a ridiculous amount.
Alternative of course is to charity shop stuff which is much easier but not very MSE.16 -
A box of jars which I was saving for someone, gone in the recycling as it's been too long and they're annoying me!Magnolia Stellata19

Hello everyone, I would also like to join in this year if that’s ok and there is space on the train. Thank you to Mrs SD who does an amazing cheerleading job. I’ve lurked around here for the last couple of years, but followed more seriously a couple of months ago to cheer on fellow flylady Round and her amazing decluttering.
My life is a continual, but often half hearted, battle against clutter. I have a DH who loves to keep things for Justin. Over the last few years we have also cleared the houses of 4 relatives, and ended up taking in more stuff. DH likes to keep things in memory, so we have most of this “stuff” in our loft and dining room. Oh, and don’t look in the garage, shed or the storage boxes lurking behind the shed.
I’m good at setting targets and then getting disillusioned, so I am definitely going for less is better is 2023, and that may lead me to 365 this year. I know that this thread moves very fast, so I am hoping that I can keep up with you all. Looking forward to the journey.18 -
Hi All
Its been a long time but i would love to rejoin if thats ok Mrs SD?. I have been learning by my mistakes which are:
1. Not getting stuff out of the house promptly once decluttered..it hangs round in garage/ car/ shed ..finally gets delved in ..has to be resorted when i cant recall whats in there ...same old
2. Spent a ridiculous amount of time on this wonderful thread cheering from sidelines without progressing much myself..learning from you all but not actioning
My hope is that i can keep up momentum and do a regular drop to the Charity Shop and that i can be accountable by posting here17 -
So it looks as if decluttering will be ok as long as I don’t clean ,sweep etc
rather relieved I am defrosting a steak for my now solitary dinner tomorrow,DS ,who was bringing his family has succumbed to what sounds like the flu bug ,I’ve told him not to worry and I’ll see him later in the month for his birthday .but I’m a bit sad .
have asked son in law and partner and my DGD and DGS if they’d like to come Monday ,but no reply yet .
given the amount it’s raining I’m a bit reluctant to open windows and will avoid crying cats !
might put my new boots on if I’m still up !
I didn’t know the reason for not doing laundry ,agree ,that’s creepy
Happy New Year to all and thanks again Mrs SD17 -
When I was growing up in East London ,the neighbours used to go out in the street and bang the dustbin lids together !15 -
Oooo page 18 already. Marvellous 😊
The EDT is filling up nicely. The engine is stoked and Tom Hanks has been hired as our conductor. Not sure if that's allowed but I don't see why not.
Getting ready to take the chocks away. Or is that not a train thing?
Anyhoo. I'm looking forward to travelling through 2023 with you all.
Happy New Year
