Whilst having a little search for some walking trousers this morning I have pulled out some cushion covers from a different colour scheme so they're in the charity box. I will donate the contents when it's full, so it will keep me accountable.
There will also be the packaging from my new sofa cover later - but I need to read the instructions first before I tackle it...2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Made a good start here too. I don’t own lots of things but it’s still too much. I have been through my socks/underwear drawer this morning as had new socks for Christmas and got rid of probably half. Also my jumper drawer. Some gone & some I’ve pinned a ticket to, telling me if I haven’t worn and removed the ticket by 1st April, they are off to the charity shop
Also tidied up the conservatory & OH has tidied kitchen. All of that and managed a lovely lie in drinking coffee and reading my book, which is another of my intentions for this year - slowing things down and not racing around everywhere.Next, a dog walk20 -
Happy New Year and welcome to all the new declutterers and hi to all the regulars.
LoL frogs becoming cane toads. I know what you mean @ionafanFacinating family history. Do you have a named person to hand it all on to?
@Brie. i have whole room dedicated to things I am 'going to sell' because they ahve a worth on ebay. Try doing one or two items first. match them a little less that the other sellers. I often do a nominal postage or free but check the size and weight because prices can really vary. There is an eboy part of th forum to look at too.
Fantastic post @Mrs_Salad_DodgerI reckon the chicken one was because someonewas jealous that they only had veg.
Good luck with all your planning @weenancyinAmerica . It sounds like a lot of stress but also an opportunity.
Woke up with a sore throat and head ach and cough this morning. Got DS1 and GS3 coming today while DiL does some studying. Would like to tell them not to but it will be the only chance DS1s real mum will get to see GS on this visit. Maybe I will just keep out of the way.
Today, after the visitors are gone. i am going to start taking decs down and aimm to have them in the loft tomorrow morning. I have to go up there to get some stuff for MiL so two birds and all that.
Also to do is get a bag of wool together for SiL She and DiL ar going back to Manchester tomorrow. I have referred Bil and wife to SS for safeguarding issues now. BiL and wife OK with this. They rang me yesterday abd they have been passed on to their regular Social Working team.
I am going to be carrying on with bag counts, large item counts and in and out counts. These are items given to me by others to give away/donate to the CS.
This New Year begins with a fairly sorted downstairs and just needs maintenance. All ebay stuff will be done upstairs now.
I will continue to work bit by bit on various projects, invite non cluttering gifts for presents e.g. to pay for my allotment membership or bags of compost.
I have a busy January and February ahead. The main tasks are:
Rebuilding a tallboy stored in the loft to replace shelves in the porch.
Said shelves transported to craft room for storage of ebay boxes.
Planning and booking parts of DD visit from Canadian boyfriend.
Transporting DD and SiL to Manchester tomorrow
Sorting MiL and DH out to make sure they are organised for their cruise.
Transporting MiL and FiL to Southampton to meet their cruise.
Visit family in Portsmouth and the New forest. Hoping to kickstart hoarding sisters clearup.
While in laws are away we are moving rooms around and some repairs at MiLs while she and her DH are away for three weeks on a cruise.
Picking in laws up from Southampton at the end of their cruise.
A blanket to finish crocheting and another to do by the end of Feb.
Two weeks of hosting B from Canada including a week away in Feb.
Ongoing between two days minimum a week of childcare.
Dealing with BiL and SiL issues.
Usual cleaning and day to day stuff.
Looks a lot but I am roping in DH and DS2 for some labouring and to put the unit together.
Happy New Year everyone.

morning all , can I be added again please @Mrs_Salad_Dodger . Not sure how often I’ll post , but joining in helps me to stay accountable. I’m going to write everything down in my notebook , as I did last year. I found that encouraged me to keep at it , because I could see what I’d already achieved. I think I’m in maintenance mode , but I thought that last year and still managed 2062 items in the end! 😱 For this year’s target I think I’ll try 2023, there might not be so many physical items ??? but I think there’s a fair few frogs to tackle and digital decluttering etc .Good luck everyone 😀Word for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗17

Hello everyone. 🙋♀️I’ve been itching to get started and couldn’t wait so I am already at a count of 625!! now to be honest 600 of those are photos I inherited from my mum nearly 4 years ago but I needed a big number as 2023 items seems unattainable. I haven’t counted the paper envelopes and all the photo negatives or the score would be even higher !Over the next week I am going to do more high count items (more photos and Xmas decorations ) and then things will become much more difficult. 😜I’m not going to count ‘real’ rubbish E.g. NEW Amazon delivery boxes but will count the ones I’ve previously stored in the loft or saved as thought might need. Who doesn’t love a good cardboard box ? 🤣🤣🤣
I’ll update a signature later when I finalise the categories I’m going to use.Happy New Year to all. 😘Declutter challenge 2023.

@bit_by_bit
thanks - yes - I need to dip my toe into the ebay pond. reminder to self - MiL's china thimbles!!! And I know that looking at the asking prices are in some ways meaningless until the items are sold but given the hankerchief I've got is currently listing at over £400 I suppose I should make an effort.
and a nosey question back to you.....where's DD's boyfriend from in Canada? While it's not true that all Canadians know each other it's surprising how often that 6 degrees of separation actually works out!! Make sure too that he brings you some Timbits. Happy New Year to everyone. Ready to start for 2023 - I made it to 1362/2022 but fell off the wagon when RL got in the way. Glad to see some new names to this really friendly place. I see we have several newbies with a Justin (just in case) living in the house. Once my visitors have gone tomorrow I may need a rest in the TLC carriage before getting going.

Hello and Happy New Year to all. Thank you for welcoming me to this thread (many pages ago!).
I’m not making plans or targets, as I find mine go astray. I’d like to say “This is the year I’ll do such-and-such” but something always scuppers it. So I will just record the things that get done in the haphazard way it happens, and hope that by the end of the year there’ll be a noticeable improvement.
I made a fairly good start today: a vase (came with gift flowers) and a top I don’t wear (the colour is not quite right) into Charity shop box. They may be joined by a box of bath bombs gifted by a niece a couple of years ago, they’re nice, but I only shower now.Decluttered to bathroom from drawer of spare room dressing table a box of very nice shower gel & body lotion (gift from a friend for a big birthday pre-COVID). These are now in use.
Retrieved from desk drawer a “mid-year” page-a-day diary for 2017/8 only partly used and that in pencil. To be put into use with the day names crossed out and entries erased. I didn’t get round to buying any calendars or diaries for this year.A box and a bag of bread scraps & crusts removed from freezer and smashed to crumbs for topping on Christmas crumble, box washed and bag recycled.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️
