Good evening. Creeping back in, if you'll have me....
I started off so well last year and then my mental health took a hit and then I felt bad just popping back up. I did stop counting but I think I probably got close to the 2022 mark. Think there was at least 26 black bags of clothes left the house! But as we are hoarders it didn't really make a dint. My health still isn't great and we're struggling with DD2 who has just finished her ASD assessment, outcome next week.
Part of my CBT is thinking about me and having a relaxing room where I can sleep without floor to ceiling boxes so that will be one of my first missions.
I've just divided the 2023 up giving about 6 items a day, maybe just concentrating on those 6 items will be less effort than focusing on the 2023. With the cost of living and DD3 wanting to go on a school trip to Germany, I'll try to sell what I can without holding on to things too long.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Hello everyone
I've followed in previous years and so already decluttered quite a lot of big items but I'd like to join in properly this year to keep myself on track as I tend to get distracted.
I've got a tip run booked for 8th January for anything that can't be sold or go to the charity shop and my goal is 2023 items gone in 2023.18 -
Started how I mean to go on - took out all the old sheets from my budget folder from the last couple of years, scrumpled them all up, and they’re in a bucket by the fire waiting to become kindling.
It feels good to be starting a brand new year with brand new budget sheets in my folder, which only have my money and my goals on them.‘When you only have two pennies left in the world, spend one on bread and the other on flowers. 25 a fabric belt which I never used to clothing bank.
26 some cardboard out for recycling. Not sure why I had kept it.
27 a bottle of wine given to a friend.
28 a pot of chives which has died on the compost heap.
It is good keeping a record of how much is leaving the house. It does feel as if progress is being made.18 -

Morning allI started after Christmas, bathroom cupboard sorted, I also looked at my under sink storage, I definitely don't need any more cleaning products. I'm trying to keep on top of my emails. I've unsubscribed from loads. Here's to a less cluttered life18

I am in again for 2023. I started well last year at 6 items a day, but this went to pot when I helped DD move home in Feb/Mar and I didn't really get fully back on track, though did continue just not regularly.I still got rid of a lot, but having work done on my bathroom just before Christmas made me realise there is still a way to go as a gas leak was found and had to move my piles of stuff from one side of the room to the other while he accessed the pipes 😳I have since got rid of 3 bags of stuff and hoping to start decluttering again in the New Year.More of a lurker than a poster and just keep up as and when I can as this thread moves so quick. No actual target as as cba counting every single thing I get rid of, all I want is to actually see a difference, learn to be more tidy and get a few more jobs done when I can actually find workmen or do them myself. The biggest aim is to actually get carpet/cushionfloor fitted in my bedroom/hall, landing & stairs and bathroom/kitchen, but they need to be cleared before that is possible and a few diy jobs need doing first.Update: Already made a start by clearing out more than half of my spice cupboard, lots were OOD or had duplicates or had barely used so most of the containers recycled, a few binned and cupboard looks a lot better and cleaner. I have only kept the ones I know I will use and even threw out the empty jars that for some reason I was keeping 😳 I didn't count what I threw out, but must have been over 20 items 😁17
