I baked last night as I had some cream to use so a lot of ingredients decluttered. Been to SA today - cakes were well received. Another one of our local homeless chaps is in intensive care. I walked into town with a chap to put money for electric on a key and saw another rough sleeper sporting a black eye.
Just had a flying visit from Ddil and Dgd M - so 3 bags of sweets decluttered - S was at his organ lesson and N at her dance class so sweets will be welcome. They are three lovely children.
I will soon be cracking on with using 24 eggs to make the chocolate puddings.

Stock options sorted for now. Still need to sell when the price is right but at least I've done something before a crucial deadline. There was a momentary panic when I thought I'd clicked on the wrong button but all is well. Just need a upward market, preferably in the next couple of weeks before some bills need to be paid. I'm appreciating the excess brain space for now - these things to clutter up one's head something chronic!!!
OH managed to declutter a bit of blood at the Dr's surgery and then we went out to browse around Lidl - a nice mild bit of exercise for him. He has also pointed out that he's decluttered a few pounds due to his recent illness. Mixed emotions on this - he needs to lose weight but I am also jealous just a bit as I need to lose weight too.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @joanie I definitely am addicted to decluttering, I just watched minimal mom for 10 minutes whilst eating lunch, and took myself off to declutter again.
I filled half a bin bag of rubbish and a full bin bag for the charity shop, clothing, scarves, handbags and whoops another pair of boots!!!!I like She mentions Dana from a slob comes clean who uses the container method, basically if the box / drawer is for a certain item say tea towels then you can only keep what fits in the container don’t stuff it in till overflowing, and don’t put into another container or place put the ones you like best in then donate the rest. It’s a really good way of not having too much of an item.
This can be done for everything you own, have a toy cupboard if it does not fit in then it goes, she also suggest a memory box a lidded box that you keep precious memories in, if it will not fit in the box then it can not be kept or it needs to be swapped out for a different item, particularly good for those pictures the kids draw when little.
i just used this when clearing my socks and underwear , I kondo rolled my socks starting with the ones I like best and any that didn’t fit in the slot in my drawer ,I got rid of.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.20 -
I’m still trying to catch up as this train moves so fast, but really want to send hugs to all those who are struggling with life at the moment, I hope things improve for you all soon. XxxFocus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.19

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Re search, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Didn’t manage just 2 x 23 minutes, am now on my third 😬 We all got distracted as DSis spotted a sparrow hawk in our back garden 🙂 I managed to get a couple of blurry pictures through the lr window 😉 First load of washing dried & 2nd load of washing in 🙂
Session 3 🙂
Excellent work tidying & cleaning Florenceem 👏 Your before & after photos make it look like you have decluttered loads 😉 Poor MF, sorry to hear that work is so stressful ☹️ Perhaps the excess bags can be used for CS donations or just as a straight donation to a CS 🙂
Excellent decluttering of emails ~FlowerPot~ 👏 Remember electronic decluttering is just as important as physical decluttering 🙂
Oh wow SecondStar 🤩 what an excellent result from your sales 👏 Good luck with your next batch of listed items 🍀
What an excellent idea Brie 👏 & so much easier if all the volunteers take it in turns to deal with recycling & trips to the Tip 🙂
Great work on the digital decluttering Neroli2 👏 Seems to be a common ‘challenge’ - temperamental shredders 😅
🤩 you have been busy Liverpool_Anne 👏 Excellent decluttering of tasks & great work on saving money - very MSE 😊
What an excellent use of monies raised from ebay sales, stellata 👏 Definitely double decluttering 🤩Good luck with your mission to declutter the big freezer 🍀 That will be another double declutter as you will be saving money on energy costs 😊
Great decluttering Florenceem 👏
A good start on your decluttering skogar 👏
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏
EnergyShifter, sorry to hear that you have been feeling so tired recently ☹️ And “trudging through treacle” whilst “battling a poltergeist” isn’t going to help 😔 Well done on still managing to summon up enough energy to declutter a few items 👏
Well done on catching up Fayolle 😊 - I am still trying 😉 You are a born declutterer - limping to the TLC carriage & getting side tracked by a cluttered drawer 😂 You are definitely back on your decluttering journey 👏 although I do think you should still pop into the TLC Carriage for a while 🙂
Great paperwork decluttering DundeeDoll 👏
Excellent decluttering ilovetea 👏 and very impressed that you have resisted the temptation to buy anything other than groceries 🙂
Definitely approve of 23 minute+ baths, mfwin2019 👏 and catching up with posts is a bonus 😊
Excellent decluttering Dfw38 👏 you are definitely motoring now - another box sorted 🙂
Excellent decluttering of paperwork Keiths_Mum 👏 & wow to releasing so many items from a single kitchen cupboard 🤩 “I'm not sure if anyone else feels like this but I'm feeling a sense of momentum, the more i do, the more I feel like doing, which is why I want to keep doing at least a little bit every day” Bravo 🙌
Brie, if the box is still available I would imagine a CS would snap it up 🙂 provided they had PAT testing facilities as mentioned by both short_bird &
Florenceem 🤞
Great decluttering oceanspirit 👏
Great suggestions for saving books from landfill - taff 👏
I will be back for Session 4 of cheerleading after dinner (chicken & mushroom risotto)

Not many today but I have been at SA and I am still baking at the moment. I will be at SA tomorrow so it will be a nil/low day tomorrow.

Evening All
Continued with second round of paperwork decluttering, 92 pieces shredded.
Also, bought a pair or trousers from the charity shop as I desperately need work trousers, only they were about 6 inches too long, so instead of paying a tenner to have the dry cleaner take them up, I did it myself, so pleased with my effort I managed to get them the same length and everything.
To all the people here who are caring for others, clearing relatives houses or are dealing with illness themselves, I've been there and it's so hard, some days feel like you're just about keeping your head above water, so if you're also managing to do other things like decluttering, you're doing really well.Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

A final flourish for the end of the month - 1 x pie dish has left the house. It was a favourite, so many times it has been pulled from the cupboard, only to be tempted back in by Justin. Today was it’s final chance.I have counted up the groups of items decluttered in January, towards my declared annual target of 365. I have scraped in at 32 for the month, which I am happy with as a first month attempt, especially as some of the groups included multiple items.
Onwards into February. Thank you to everyone here for all their advice, and especially to Mrs S_D for the fantastic cheerleading.17 -
Evening, half filled box 9. Don't think I am going to make it to box 10 but I am pleased with my progress. Frog freeing February starts for me tomorrow (thankfully my dc are not affected by the teacher strike but I do support the strikes) Didn't get to the tip today and have found out that next month we have to prebook our tip slot so that is a pain as I like deciding on the day so will need to be better organised.
Those cakes look lovely!
Right, about to look through dc toys to see if anything can go and to make a list of frogs to focus on. I am going to aim for 28 (there must be at least double that for what I have put off....) some will be big ones - the shredding, others tiny but all will be counted! Have a lovely evening and bring on February!2024 decluttering Campaign
