Morning all
thank you @Mrs_Salad_Dodger for your kind comments re my DM. Thankfully she seems on the road to recovery - the next challenge will be convincing her she needs more support when she comes home 😀

This thread moves so quickly! Here’s what I’ve been up to the past week or so:
Threw out 2 bras
Returned more clothes to M & S
Threw out some exhausted hair bands that lost their elasticity
Threw out a bottle of old lotion
Cleared clothes off the floor and into new sets of drawers
Bagged up two sets of glass
Took out one set of glass
Put up a new Ikea pendant lamp
Deleted 150 emails
Unsubscribed from 3 stores/companies who send tons of marketing emails every freaking day
Cleared 30 browser tabs

Things in now up to 5 - a metal flour bin (secondhand) and a new computer as the screen of mine kept fritzing in and out and driving me mad. I tried rolling it back to Windows 10 and running diagnostics, but it's probably a hardware problem. I now have 2 old laptops to go out to the recycling centre, as well as assorted wires and gubbins.
Other things still waiting to go out are a bag of books and a bag of bags (I had over 20 cloth or jute tote bags, so I chose my 10 favourite and the rest can go).
Things that have actually gone out include two cotton bags that were beyond saving and had to go in the bin. One broken flashdrive, old credit cards and membership cards (English heritage etc) another notebook of old drawings (a couple torn out and kept but most in recycling) three of those thick open house catalogues that come out each year, a tupperware with a broken lid, forced hyacinth bulbs (I got a second flush of flowers but they're done now) one of those blue pelican books from the 60s - it just fell to bits, so that's in the recycling. Used up post its and an ancient grey sweatshirt (must be 20 years old).

Tuesday 9:00 a.m. & it is quite cloudy but bright with a bit of a breeze. I am in my dressing gown drinking my first cuppa & getting ready to start cheerleading 😉

Great work decluttering 2 offices in 1 month DundeeDoll 👏 we are more like 1 office in 2 months 😉Yippee to your friend’s boxes being collected 🥳 You must have oodles of space now 😅 A photo bombing spaniel 😂
Sounds like a perfect Sunday EnergyShifter 😊 Enjoy your aubergines 😉
Dfw38, very generous of DD2 to let you have Sunday off 🤣 Don’t forget you can come & hide in the TLC Carriage 😉 I suppose you could always put a sheet over ‘kiwi crush’ furniture 🤔
Keiths_Mum, I seem to remember that his ad wasn’t particularly specific. Needless to say that there was NOT a 2nd date as although he might have been scoping me out he conveniently forgot that he was less Arnie & more Homer 🤣 I responded to one other lonely hearts ad - no water slides & no chemistry 😉 Decided at that point that I was better off on my own 🙂 you did have a very busy day - batch cooking, washing & ironing as well decluttering 👏
TC77, see my reply to Keiths_Mum 😂 Great work tidying & decluttering 👏
charlies_tribe, very impressed at your DH’s plumbing skills 👏 I also like the division of labour - DH dealing with the plumbing & you decluttering emails 🙂 Very kind of you to donate DD2’s old bike to DD3’s friend 😊
Excellent decluttering ilovetea 👏 Good luck with the listings 🍀 fingers crossed for lots of sales 🤞
Great work completing & submitting DH’s tax return, coconurtaler 👏 with 2 days to spare 👏 Ooh, shiny new windows 🙂 Excellent decluttering too 👏 especially the pretty jar 😉
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Sounds like you are almost finished with DD’s room & clothing 🙂Hopefully DS’s room will be easier 🤞
Liverpool_Anne, well done on getting the bulk of the work done dealing with the Frog 👏 You have prevented it from becoming a Cane Toad 😉 Hopefully your carpenter will be able to fit you in with enough time for you to sort the cash 🤞 Excellent decluttering of emails & knitting 👏
Excellent decluttering popthekettleon 👏
GrannyKate, I think decluttering children for one day counts as 10 😂 However two days counts as 25 🤣 Fingers crossed that the decorator is finished quickly 🤞 Great decluttering of tasks 👏 (I use my credit card at least once a month & pay off in full but generally prefer to use cash 😉 The cc is used for those things that have the potential to be problematic - better safe than sorry 🙂)
Now, now roundtuit - no need for self flagellation (in the figurative sense 😉) You obviously needed time in the TLC Carriage & have now recharged your Life Batteries & are ready to enter the Decluttering Fray once again 😊 Perhaps the 23 minute method is the way to start 😉 and remember the positives - you have kept up with the daily decluttering of rubbish & recycling 👏👏 Good luck 🍀
stellata, I’m wondering if it was the same chap 😂 If he was more Homer than Arnie, then it probably was 🤣 Well done on the sales 👏
Lovely post Dfw38 👏 I think we have probably filled a large warehouse - floor to ceiling with the amount of stuff decluttered 😱 I am also wondering how many gallons of paint & yards of wallpaper have been used 🤔 Fingers crossed that you manage to get to Box 10🤞
Right, I think that is enough cheerleading for a while 😉 I think I will get dressed & do a bit of knitting 🙂 Timer set for 2 x 23 minutes 🥲

More easy digital decluttering today and a sort out of the present box whilst I was digging out where I had hidden DS's presents I need to wrap before his birthday tomorrow! Want to do more, but really need to get back to work... On the plus side, lots of things outside to be picked up today to slowly declutter my library (aka the dumping room). DD's stuff is all done for now, so will need to start planning and thinking how to simplify DS's room. He has tons of Lego, but genuinely uses all of it, so need to get it all squeezed in somewhere!DD loves her room now. She can see everything and now there is less there, she plays with toys for much, much longer and really enjoys herself. Will definitely keep it all minimal and the rotation up.1,360-1,363 - digital files deleted1,364-1,367 - apps deleted from phone1,368-1,373 - text message conversations/threads deleted1,374 - plastic bag (used)1,375-1,376 - activity books (Buy Nothing)1,377-1,381 - kids books (Buy Nothing)2025 decluttering: 3,979🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

I have had 4 x 23 minutes away from cheerleading but have done one load of washing most of which is now in the td as not convinced it won’t rain 😔 I have also done some more knitting - 2/3rds done now 🙂 DH has been up a while & has filled the bird feeders. Has also brought down a bag of detritus from his office 👏 He has packed a large bag full of electricals (ours - already counted & M’s) & is just setting off on a Tip run.391 - 393 Three large cardboard boxes- recycled

Here is session 2 🙂
Sorry to hear you have been so unwell bit_by_bit ☹️ Please take it easy until you are fully recovered 🙏What a lovely supportive & empathetic post 😊 Good luck with getting your Tax frog dealt with 🍀 You will feel so much better when it is done & dusted 🙂 You have been so busy over the past few weeks that it is no wonder you succumbed to illness ☹️ Now I think you should use your recovery time to plan your next round of tidying & decluttering especially as you have confirmed that you work better & more happily when you have a plan 😊 Btw you never have to apologise for a long post 😉 Hope you enjoy your day of quiet & that DH enjoys his new job 🙂
Brie, good luck with sorting out your stock options 🍀 It is always such a pain to deal with & even more so when the market is so dire 😔
Excellent decluttering Dfw38 👏 and well done on completing box 7 👏
Sorry to hear that RL is so busy Beshki ☹️ However, you have chosen an excellent way to continue your decluttering journey 👏 The bit by bit chipping away will yield results in a surprisingly quick amount of time 😊 If you have a mobile phone perhaps take a few ‘before’ photos & when you are happy with the decluttering you have done on a specific area take the ‘after’ photo & delete the ‘before’ photo 🙂
Excellent decluttering of your walking gear Floss 👏 & good luck with your listings 🍀
Great work nu1isit? 👏 I agree with QueenJess - little & often 🙂
Well said QueenJess 👏 Little & often will help to change habits 🙂 & before & after photos will keep the motivation high 🙂
Excellent decluttering joanie 👏 Sadly I am not that organised - no lying awake planning where & what to declutter next 😂
Great work roundtuit 👏 Already back into the swing of decluttering 😊
You are very welcome SecondStar 😊
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Loving the idea that your attic will be pristine 😉 just make sure it isn’t SO pristine that you move into it 😂 Good luck with your “smaller little decluttering sessions” 🍀
Florenceem, you work so hard that you deserve a day off from SA 😊 Good luck with the baking 🍀 - not sure I could bake for 50 😥 Chocolate sponge & chocolate custard 😋😋😋 Thank you both for all the work you do for SA 👏
I am restricting myself to 2 x 23 minutes of knitting & pottering before coming back for Session 3MrsSD (a superwoman) 😇 🎖💐🤩🏅🦸🏅💐🏆 💐🍰🍾

Another successful day for me.I finally managed to sort out the big box of tights (as I never wear them anymore) and have got rid of 21 pairs of tights, one odd sock (?) And a pair of hold-ups that are brand-new (that are being sent to charity) and 9 pairs of popsocks.I must admit to still having a drawer full with perhaps 20 to 30 pairs, but hopefully I’ll get them on the next pass. Also going out is:Knitted hot water bottle cover
17 Pieces of jewellery
2 black pilllwcases
9 new tea towels ( not the kind of cotton I use
bundle of fat quarters
2 fleece blankets
a top
2 skirts
scarf
fabric 2 lots of 60” x 4 yards
part made dress ( now too big)😁👍
think that’s 80?
so that takes me to over 400 for January, very pleased with that.only one or two more places to look and then I’m going to have to consider the loft and the garage but I also think that I can probably do another circuit around the house and find stuff that I allowed to escape first time 😜Many thanks to this thread as it keeps me going 👍Declutter challenge 2023.

Hello all, hope you are all well, hugs if poorly or struggling with something 🧡. Apologies too for not keeping up properly, apparently since page 146 😲.
We had to buy a new hoover and fan heater this week so the old fan heater has bit the dust, the old hoover has already been dismantled in DH's shed and some unwanted bits binned. The cardboard boxes from the new items have been dismantled and put in the recycling bag. Also gone a cardboard box which contained 6 cartons of milk, courtesy of a sm delivery. The carrier bags have gone out too as no use to me unless you wanted to carry 2 rolls of wallpaper in each 🙄
Today I have done a load of washing, stripped the bed and washed the bedding along with the bathroom mats. All items were put on the line and have dried, yeah 👏! I have cleaned the bedroom of dust too, where does that all come from ? I deleted 30 plus emails today and several recorded TV programmes that I had watched, plus a small paintbrush which had been left without being cleaned.
Thank you to those who posted about how others treat them and the way it made them feel. It resounded with me and my Dad and it was good to read that I'm not alone. (I'm sorry I can't remember the person who started that topic )
Happy decluttering all, take care

A bit more decluttering done. I've not been out for more than a week as I've had a stomach/flu bug. This had given me lots of time to watch and sort DVDs and I've decluttered 34. Of these 10 are going to a CS and the rest I've binned as these were DVDs I recorded myself. I'm also getting rid of about 50 poly pockets. I've also deleted more than 20 hours of recordings from my hard drive recorder.
Worse news is I've "decluttered" £269 from my bank account to pay for a repair to my fridge/freezer. When I had to empty the freezer I discovered a lot of meat that had freezer burn and/or was very old. So I've binned a pile of food. I do hate having to waste food 😱. I have a habit or you could say compulsion of buying lots of ys foods and then freezing it and forgetting all about it. I've now written an inventory of all food in both freezers and will be more careful when tempted by ys bargains !!!Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)
