I felt a lot less tired yesterday than on Monday & my work day was less busy. I had a good few hours gap in the middle of the day so went out in the garden and started smashing up some garden furniture that has gone rotten. It was very therapeutic. I've got a day off today - working tomorrow instead - I hope to get DS involved in finishing off the smashing and to get the remainder in the bin after its been emptied.
I'm pleased how January has gone - my ratio of out to in is over 4:1. I also completed "No Sugar January" with only one day slipping and a day pass for my birthday. I had fallen into the habit of eating sweet things over Christmas & wanted to stop the craving - let's see if it worked!
Tasks:
Smashing up garden furniture
IN (running total 37)
0
OUT (running total 140)
141. Broken scissors
142. rotten sun-lounger
143. rotten wicker chair

Good morning everyone 🙂 Woke up at 8:00 a.m. for a bathroom visit & decided to put fluffy dressing gown on & go downstairs. Will make a cuppa & try to catch up on the posts. Wednesday 1st of February already - anyone know what happened to January 😥 Still a bit grey out so difficult to tell what the weather is like 😉
bit_by_bit, how exciting having a visitor from Canada 😊 I am pretty certain they are looking forward to seeing you & catching up Not coming for an inspection of your house 😉 Hope you have a restful day & a relaxing time with your friends 🤞 Sorry to hear about SiL still being in one hospital or another whilst medical investigations are ongoing ☹️ Problematic ‘friend’ is not helping SiL by harassing her & I am not surprised that you are unhappy about the situation 😔 Is there a Social Worker who can be contacted to help BiL whilst SiL is in hospital? Sending you lots of hugs & please take time for yourself whilst all this is going on 🙏
Lovely post Brie 😊
Excellent decluttering skogar 👏 & well done on finding another ‘recipient’ to donate to 🙂
Excellent decluttering of both items & tasks TC77 👏 Well done on submitting your tax return & paying the tax - one medal 🏅 on its way. Yippee to finding your address book 🥳 should make life a bit easier not having to hunt for addresses 🙂 There is probably a happy medium between 10% & 50% 😉
Liverpool_Anne, sounds like you had a lovely time with your friend S 😊 Nice to catch up in person - phone & possibly Zoom calls are all well & good but never the same as meeting in RL 😔 Poor S has certainly had a tough time over the last almost 3 years ☹️ What a lovely surprise re her DM’s estate 😊Hopefully she will get to fulfil her dream in the not too distant future 🤞 Now all that is needed is for you to have an unexpected windfall to enable you to go as well 😉 Excellent decluttering of emails 👏Once you have gone through the remaining 12k+, perhaps you can unsubscribe from a large number of them 🤞Everything crossed that the joiner, who has made such an auspicious start to your relationship with him can continue to impress🤞 Enjoy your time with friends & do pop into the TLC Carriage 😊
weenancy I just want to give you a big hug 🤗 I think several members of the British & European contingent of the Decluttering Family need to visit en masse & give all your roommates a stern talking to 😉 Whilst we are there we could also help you declutter physical items & maybe even a couple of roommates 😉😉 Hopefully today will be a better day with less screaming than yesterday 🤞
Pleased to hear that you are less tired than Monday, EnergyShifter 😊 Nothing like smashing up something to relieve tension & stress 👏 Hopefully you can persuade DS to join you in the next session of destruction 😉 Great decluttering and what a successful January 👏 deserving of a Gold Star ⭐️which is on its way 👏
And breathe - 09:45 Wednesday 1st February & I have caught up on the cheerleading… at least for a few minutes 🥳🙂 I have finished my tea, the weather is now distinguishable as bright & sunny with clear blue skies 🙂 Seems a shame to go back to bed but I keep nodding off
See you all later & sending hugs for the day ahead.

Still tackling frogs on what seems like a daily basis🐸🐸🐸
yesterday I finally went through with the appointment with BG about the boiler. I’ve put it off 3 times🙈, so at least we now have a quote for a new one. It’s not going to be straightforward, nothing is with this house 😂
Last night I made some enquiries about rehoming our 3 ducks, again been putting that off… through a friend Ive found someone who lives locally and will take them, so will be calling them this evening, to hopefully arrange taking them over at the weekend.
And this morning I’ve spent 40 minutes on the phone to the company where I have an ISA, second call to them in the last couple of weeks. Please let it finally be sorted and I can have the money out to reinvest and pay for a new boiler!Feeling a bit worn out today, after yesterday’s and this morning’s frogs! 2 loads of washing are done, slow cooker on. Need to pop to B&Q for another roll of the loft insulation stuff then I might slip into the TLC carriage later this morning and read my book for a while.
Good luck everyone with whatever you’re tackling today.Word for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗17 -
One frog eaten although follow up action needed. Drinking quantities of lemonade - I am allowed clear and sweet drinks but not food after light lunch today. I also need to drink some more water. Decorators have taken over kitchen which is good as it stops me going in there! Did some competitions and surveys - I already have about £8 and a £4 mrA voucher to download towards this months earn £100 extra target.
180 Downloaded and reviewed stuff for DS2 - need to fill in paperwork for next week.
181 Monthly banking done - I did meet some targets but not all
182 Lots of emails read and deleted or saved
183 Pictures from hall all taken down so dust decluttered and glass polished
Stuff all over the place in my bedroom so guess I will get that put away next and look out a bag, chargers and reading material to take with me tomorrow2025 Decluttering Campaign 733/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Recluttering some weight at last!
out went 2 Haynes book of lies car repair
assorted paperwork some dated 2011
OOD crystalized ginger found lurking in the back of the cupboard - shame as its my favourite
lots of charger cables bagged up for the recycling centre ( where do they all come from - I'm sure there's a secret breeding programme)
Our council has decided in its infinite wisdom to alter our black bag collection to 3 weekly so we will have to find a way of storing them. At least the recyccing is still weekly. They also want to start charging for green waste with a maximum of 5 bags per fortnight - I for-see a lot of flytipped material up our country lane.

Found an extra item for the CS bag I had to sneak it in there as DH had bought it me. That is now sat in the boot of the car. A parcel that needed posting has finally gone.
Just had a discussion about starting the removal of fitted wardrobes in the back bedroom (to be kitchen) as they are wood we can repurpose for the fire whilst there is still the need for heat. This will also provide me with the drive to move more stuff around and get some out of the house. Little areas can be seen to be tidied up.
Food cupboards been re organised and lists completed. Today list needs an update for the freezer. It has its new list (mostly alphabetically) waiting to be marked up. The fridge definitely needs a declutter can see some toms past their best. Will remove cut up and freeze for later. Piece of ham to be cooked for tea tonight, will give us 3 meals.
I completed the ironing yesterday but have failed to put the clothes away. Todays mission.

I've got 2 charity bags waiting to go upstairs so that I can go through some of my unwanted/unworn clothing. Hopefully OH will be able to join in too as he currently has a stack of clean stuff about 3 feet high waiting to be put away. Other than socks and knickers I leave the rest up to him as otherwise he won't be able to find things and things will get all shouty.
But before I go to do that I'm going to nuke some emails.....fyi - my method is to look at the oldest (so reverse date order), then sort by sender so I can't mass delete the spammy ones and those from MSE/Lidl/Grrrl/old energy supplies whatever. It also allows me to mass file ones from family. Might take a look at those really big ones (sort by size). And when I'm done will go into the delete folder and empty it so there's no going back.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Good morning. I am back, feeling a little better.I have just caught up on posts. Amazing stuff happening up and down the country and further!I have been busy with furniture restoration. I was given some wood drawers which match the spare room bed and bookcase. They were a little tired on the drawers and the top very scratched and stained. They look fab now. The thing is, most of the drawers are empty. 🤩 only a change of bedding for the spare bed in them. I have also finished the little oak bookcase for the sitting room. The pine tallboy from the spare room is in the pantry of doom for now.Liverpool Anne. Your friend will love QM2. We have been on her. My first cruise. I wasn’t sure if I would like it but I do, much to my surprise. Value for money I think. We were on 14 days. Any longer and we would have to be winched out of the cargo hold.Granny Kate. Hope you have your favourite food planned for after your procedure. ❤️

Right, I've booked the carpet cleaner for Monday 20th February. This is either a fantastic idea or great folly, time will tell.
