They live in the top cabinet of a set of glass-doored Billy, which has fairy lights behind the doors to make everything look pretty!
Got home late tonight due to problems on the tube. Did a small amount of paper decluttering, 24 pieces shredded and 12 recycled. I am officially onto the 6th and last box of paperwork.Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

Hi, I hope I'm not too late to join the party. Fairly new to declutterung but I've set myself the modest target of a carrier bag full a week. I'm hoping your support will keep me going and that my kids will thank me in the long run!!19

@Floss, love the blue, and remember you having posted wonderful yellow/mustard walls and how you display memorabilia - all wonderful. @Florenceem love the drawers too and the decluttering!
There were other posts to respond too but my memory is so poor
thank you for my gold start, I will keep polished and just the motivation I need!
Long day of work but managed a bank frog, and another admin frog 15116 -
Packed up 2 parcels, things I bought b4 Xmas but need to be returned. There's always something and in previous years I've missed return deadlines but not this time. The refunds will be welcome too. Binned a dead tyre inflator thing and some ancient worktop trim in my never ending shed clearance. It's much better than it was but it's cold and dirty in there so I just go in every time I have coat and boots on and move a couple of things on. Slow and steady.Magnolia Stellata16

Hi all,
@Mrs SD thank you for my medal
@coconurtaler, sorry to hear about your Mum. Hospital visiting can be exhausting, hugs
@EnergyShifter good luck with the tax return
@TC77, the workers at our tip alternate between almost emptying the boot before you've got the door open to needing a dispensation from the Pope to help, generally they are quite nice though.
@GrannyKate good luck with the contractors. I know it will be disruptive but it will be worth it, hugs
@Brie, we are still getting the pretend charity bags but I haven't had any real charity bags. Maybe it is a busy time in the charity shops and they can't take in more things atm. As for sox, well a very good questionI think I have counted a pair as 1 but I also think others have counted it as 2.
I would say your decluttering journey your choice
, totally sitting on the fence here
@Soontobeoap insurance companies are a real pain, I have had quite a few stern conversations with them over the years, hugs
@nu1isit?, Welcome aboard, this train is like the tardis, room for everyone
@SecondStar great news about your offer, yes your ex can go hang, you are worth better
@Dfw38 great news re dd and the bullieskiwi crush sounds lovely to me but then I love green, most of my house is green. My Mum didn't like it though, she thought it was unlucky to have green in the house, no idea where that comes from
@Gromit38, Welcome aboard nice to see you
Well yesterday I had a really lovely video call with my niece and her DH. They were going for a bbq on the beach, you can go off people. Then we met friends for tea, one of my favourite Greek restaurants and it didn't disappoint
. As it was friends birthday the gift and card were taken. When I got home the only thing I did was sort the washing on to the maiden.
Today I have been a bit lazy, still feeling a bit heady from the jab but I finally finished sorting those blasted take away containers, I have started a new hard plastic bag to take to the tip and I managed to sneak a few in there so they do at least fit in the space I have designated for them. I also had a whizz around the conservatory and put a few washing pod containers in and found a few other things I could easily reach around the washing machine so filled the kitchen recycling bin. That was emptied and the wheelie bin is out for collection tomorrow. I have started corralling and sorting some more stuff in the lr. Bin and recycling are filling up and should be full tomorrow. As I am counting them they have to be full. Quick whizz around the bedroom and filled the bin, emptied.
A kind (?) neighbour has donated some wood which appeared in a pile in my front garden so I will try to sort that tomorrow along with a few other things but it really is too cold to be out for long.
177 present and card delivered
178 bedroom bin
179 kitchen recycling
180 take away containers sorted and stored where they should be rather than exploding out of the cupboard every time you open the doorthey were nearly a frog
Take care everyone

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Monday got colder & the sun went in at about 2:30 p.m. DH left about 12:30 p.m. & got home about 5:30 p.m. I did put away the contents of the HF box. Then decided to phone my bank & check my accounts & order a cheque book. What a palaver & I got very stressed 😫 I have been banking with FD for over 30 years with no problems at all but today it would appear that their staff had taken a ‘stupid pill’ The 1st call a man answered & took me through the usual security checks & then kept asking for extra info - set off alarm bells. I asked him why he was asking for more & more details & he tried to fob me off with ‘I am just doing the usual security checks’ I pointed out that he was being excessive in his request for information & asked if the security checks had changed - I was completely ignored. I made my concerns known & ended the call. Tried again - this time a young lady answered & said she would be transferring me - why says I, to get someone else to do the security checks says she, why can’t you do them says I, I just can’t says she, then please put me through to a supervisor says I, there are no supervisors says she. By this time I was becoming distraught so ended the call - thinking more & more that there was a scam like quality about the whole thing 🤔 Anyway I checked the telephone number on both my debit card & my phone & tried again thinking third time lucky 🍀 A different man answered took my name & put me through to a female supervisor. There then ensued a lengthy conversation about the appalling service & confirmation that the first chap had overstepped the mark. We then went through the security checks plus a rather bizarre question ‘which cheque was cashed on the 11th January’ bearing in mind that I had no statement to check this. Anyway I finally got to check my accounts & order a cheque book. The supervisor then confirmed what the security checks should be (unchanged from the previous 30 years) hence my initial problem. Fingers crossed that this was an aberration 🤞 & that normal service will be resumed the next time I call 🙏 Updated my records & then decided to do something less traumatic - sorted out the large bag of DVDs from DH’s office. I now have two bags of DVDs to take to CS - will update my numbers once delivered 😉 Completed knitting & sewing up a beanie. DH & I sorted out first HF meal - classic sausage burger with onion marmalade, wedges & salad 🤤 Wudupa.
294 - 297 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, paper packaging, cardboard box - recycled
298 Kitchen detritus binned
Good luck with February’s eat from freezer campaign, Soontobeoap 🍀 Good work sorting out your sewing box 👏 What a nightmare re your car puts my bank issue into perspective 😉 Rather than consigned you to the baggage car, we should perhaps consider adding a carriage with a few soundproof rooms 😉 Hopefully you can pick up a courtesy car soon 🤞
Great work Ginmonster 👏 Fingers crossed that the new person collects the toys as arranged 🤞If you do set a target for big items it is another chance to earn awards 😉

Brie, I see your ‘ counting’ question has been answered by TC77 🙂
Great decorating tips DFW38 👏
Muddy_Walker, sorry to hear that all your spoons have been used to deal with work & your colleagues plus the ‘numpty’ neighbour ☹️ Soundproof rooms seem to be the order of the day 😉

Oh my goodness so many posts to catch up on! Lots of decluttering !In the past week I’ve managed to find homes for 2 rugs. I’d bought ( new to me) 2 bigger rugs. One of the older rugs I’d been given free and the other I’d previously tried to sell and it didn’t so was happy to pass them both on. And had nice messages back from where they’d gone.
Two big houseplants passed on to someone. I’m going to be getting some work done where they lived so they’ve been re-homed to someone who loves plants. Two big vases also re-homed. I’ve got plenty and also kept a couple from mums. So was happy to pass these on too.Recycled empty candle jars. This was quite a big step ! I love candles and I love candles in pretty jars so I gave myself a stiff talking too about why would you even need to keep empty jars just because they look pretty! Out they went! And I’ve been in a reading mood but I pass the books on to a colleague as soon as I’ve read them ( usually picked up in charity shops)
And I’d been holding 2 boxes of stuff in my garage for a local community group so they were collected mid week so there’s a space in the garage! Heavens 😆
And a great big cane toad of a frog 😆 ( maybe mixing my amphibians too much) was painting seven doorframes… I kept putting it off ( even cleaned my oven instead!) so that’s done and looks much better and then I was able to frame a large poster I’d bought and put that up in the hallway and a new light shade that’s clear glass and makes it a bit lighter than it was. And then you wonder why you were even putting things off!Have a lovely day 😊18 -
Morning, kept waking dreaming of work meeting just planned for a few weeks time....and found as I get older really can't do with meetings which aren't planned (e.g people bring information with them or share it beforehand). Really want to declutter dreams/nightmares of work. Note to myself must make sure I take all my leave.
AS work early trying to clear a few papers and a few dishes!
Have another few items to try and give/sell from my dad's. DB sends details when he is down there.
@SecondStar , great news about the offer.
Mrs SD, I have an account with that bank but use rarely but kept as they historically have been so lovely when you call and have a good o/d facility on a occasion. Banks can drive you mad when facing hassle, and the worry of scams can't be overestimated. I do wonder if there is someone who listens to people when they are talking to the automated voices asking what you want, as I keep telling them in louder and less uncertain terms, and they don't seem to register and I say Just put me through to anyone!! etc
@mhagster it's a lovely bonus when you know people are happy with their new to them items, and I find it easier to pass things on, and like the why didn't I do it earlier, it's why did I keep it so long when someone else could be using it. It's the things that I'm not sure anyone else could use/want that I struggle to part with!17
