If they're not all tidily together as a single item then a pair of socks cluttering the space  can count as  2 items  and if I have to take apart to check for holes then becomes 2. One holey sock out is 1 item

@GrannyKate have you considered having a dark colour for your hallway? I am going to be having my hallway dark when I re-paint it for a couple of reasons: 1 - it will hide scuffs well (going for tough paint will also help) and 2 - it makes every room off of it look bigger and brighter regardless of the colour or size they are. 
It isn't for everyone but might be worth having a Google for dark hallways and seeing if you like the appearance. For our kitchen I am going to go for a colour that 'matches' the outside, some people go for greens or beige. If you have a lot of light coming in (we do) then you might find a darker colour will suit best so it doesn't make the kitchen 'washed out'.

No decluttering from me today as used all my spoons going into the office…… and borrowed some from tomorrow for numpty queries and a very selfish neighbour who made me reverse down the road with cars and a bus behind me and 4 cars in front. They then drove on the pavement to get round me.

Mine is deep blue - Dulux Sapphire Salute...this is the view as you come thru the front door, although I now have light grey carpet & laminate. The blue goes up the other side of the stair wall & round onto the landing, with white everywhere else.

@vulpix you are very kind, I will travel for you, I will bring the kids, they are bonkers but very entertaining 😄. 
Think we need those hedgehog badges Mrs SD so I can spot the members of our clan who get special decorating rates 😀. 

Spoke to dds teacher today, she told me that there have been quite a few parents concerned about the bullying behaviour and not to worry because she is having none of it. She is going to speak to the headteacher about the possibility of making bullying a focus in the next few assemblies and that her and the other teachers are going to come up with a rota to supervise the goings on in the playground so that between them they can strike while the iron is hot and deal with the behaviour straight away. She said that they only get general details of any goings on in the lunch break so she is hoping by being first hand observers they can prevent any more bullying before it starts. Dd seemed a lot happier when I collected her from school so 👍. Felt wiped out today (not like me at all) so spent an hour coming up with a list of material needed for decorating and garden project. Now just need to decide on colours.... eldest dd is trying to convince me on 'kiwi crush' for her bedroom.... i am not too sure but will check it out in daylight .....

Hello everyone, hope you are surging the longest month of the year. Always too much month left at the end of the money post Christmas.
I’ve updated my signature to include how much I’m saving each week by getting veg free from Olio, I sometimes get bread too but I don’t eat it often, they are good for eggs and teabags etc. you need to download the app.
It’s only January and I’ve bought 3 NEW things, I’m trying to buy secondhand where I can and 2 of the items I bought today could have been with a bit of perseverance and charity shopping. Teaspoons and a large vase for my bedroom. I was down to my last teaspoon (granddaughters packed lunches to blame) and I’ve been looking for a white vase for ages and spotted one I loved today, it’s 3 years since I moved into this house and this was the first one I saw that perfectly fits the bill. The other thing I bought was new pegs.
decluttered a fair amount already, after completing target last year this year is already feeling easier to let go of things. 

Swedish Death Cleaning definitely helped with the perspective on that.
The dark blue hallway in the photo is gorgeous!

Spent today in the TLC carriage as I felt very under the weather!  Only 4 client today and the second 2 I worked from bed as it was so cosy and warm.  I'm glad I took it easy as I feel almost human again now.
