Stacey Solomon sort your life? On this Weds ,I’m sure on one of the decluttering programs they went back after a month to see if things still were kept tidy but may be mistaken.
re M n S returns you can see what has been returned on your account online, I love no receipts and paperwork coming in.😂😇
I am another that would check the cat with the vet , much love. X
yesterday a full 9 hours at work was spent doing the January reset declutter, and labeling, just hope it’s not a mess again by next week 😔
at home sorted bulbs all those no longer needed for light fittings have gone. Plus a kitchen cupboard reorganized, with baskets for top shelf making it easier to see what’s up there for little me.
Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.18 -
Going for the little and often approach and it seems to be working. Sorted through seeds this weekend and have a bag to donate to a community garden, continued more outdoors decluttering, did a tip run with that, listed some clothes on vinted - first time using and will either list on eBay or charity shop if they don’t go. Wanted to do the bathroom drawers but felt overwhelmed by the entire thing so did one drawer and it made it so much easier! Got rid of half of the contents and once I’ve done the others I’ll organise everything. Finished a book so that’ll be passed on, have vowed not to bring anymore books in until I’m through those I already have.20

Need to get up and ready for contractors. RL very challenging as DS2 very down and we have a week until he starts a new job. He had temporary work last week but it was outside and he's caught another chesty cold. Very complicated situation with his most recent job has caused him massive problems. Spent my 23 minutes updating banking and paying off some bills yesterday.
131-132 paid annual subscriptions for 2 organisations
133 banking updated and set up one of those impulse saving links on banking app - sends odd amounts to savings account when you click it on it - £3.85 but every little helps. Downloaded two small amounts from Prolific surveys.
134 Card written for USA in February - only one to do for the month and ready to post early. I will list and get started on the March cards now.
135 Manky veg from fridge in recycling
136 Strawberries frozen in summer used up
Fell asleep watching TV last night. House is full of wet washing which I keep moving round. Small amount in dryer on low heat this morning but trying not to use it. Monthly energy bill was double what I am paying and credit almost used up although some of it will be down to dehumidifier - expecting to get some more money from insurance so will pay that to energy company.
DS2 found some frozen strawberries in freezer which he picked in summer and made a strawberry cobbler which was delicious. Had to throw away some carrots and parsnips that we bought YS but forgot about. I set myself what I hoped was a realistic target for a month's groceries and I have just £35 left but lots in freezer. Note to self - do not go in supermarkets this week. I am going to make a determined effort to go to Lidl in February. I may order some meat from butcher as he delivers and it is always good and gets used up. DS2 is good at meal planning which I am not. Late DH did most of the shopping and cooking. I guess the issue this week will be keeping out of the contractors way - garden tidying is calling if it is not too cold. I did buy a small shoe rack for the hall. There is space for it and I am back to tripping over shoes with grandchildren here - brings back memories of when my children were small.
I have to decide on colours for my hall, kitchen and bathroom but keep changing my mind. Kitchen needs to be a slightly darker colour and current grey in hall is dreary. I guess I'm getting decorating done as part of insurance claim but premium will no doubt rocket.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Wow, so many new posts since yesterday again. There is very helpful advice on here about decluttering when moving. I was ruthless when I moved last year, but stuff has been creeping in again.
I haven't seen the Nick Knowles show, but I have seen the Stacey Solomon programme once.
I have put three tops into the donation bag. I will take the bags in about an hour to the charity shop as the workmen are turning up later today as we had a hard frost and they can't start until it defrosts a bit. I threw away an old scarf I was using as a cat blanket and a chewed up dog toy yesterday too.
I have been going around my house taking down pictures and removing nails and it made me think that I want to be more discerning when I put the pics back up after the decorating is done. I am going to try and only have two to three pics to a room as I have a clock on the wall in each room too.18 -
Finally dragged the wheelie bin around to my car to empty out the detritus. Thought that if I can’t quite get started in the house yet, at least if my car is full of less rubbish then there will be space in there for things from the house!‘When you only have two pennies left in the world, spend one on bread and the other on flowers. Hello all, wow so much decluttering going on ! Good on you all, got to keep this train moving along.
I have finally put a huge frog to rest as we've finished wallpapering the lounge, I've only procrastinated about it for 3 years ! Now all the bags of old wallpaper have gone too, all tools have been put away and some of the furniture has been put back in place ( not the desk though as that's in many pieces in the shed and the wood awaiting a new use). I shall simply have to look for new lights and soft furnishings now 😁 I can see more £'s being spent, but it's for our pleasure and comfort. Oh ! and I need a new hoover as I wore the old one out 🙄
I had a fall on Sat morning, I caught my foot in the end of the duvet as I was stripping the bed. Nothing broken just bruises and on my knee and hand and a jarring of my shoulders. Could have been worse though, I could have fallen face first into the dressing table if I'd gone another couple of inches forward, phew ! My life passed before my eyes 🤣
We had DGS here for the weekend so lots of food has left the building, mainly in his tummy. Cheaper to keep his picture on the wall as my old nan used to say 😂 He's now about a foot taller than me and has gone up a shoe size since xmas 😲. He's already almost 6ft and he's only 13, but he's promised to help me get the things down off the top shelves when he takes me shopping in years to come😉 My Dad arrived for lunch too yesterday and I was shattered by the time DGS and Dad went home so today I'm having a quiet day just doing nothing. There are leftovers for tea, which only need to be warmed through and some lo cake for pud.
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones, the poorly relatives, the poorly pets and anyone struggling.
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently16 -
One bag delivered to the charity shop and some items from the cupboard that need to be added to the next bag.
And speaking of bags....likely it's the weather but I've only had 2 charity bags on the doormat so far this year. In fact I think that maybe since mid December. Normally there's at least 1-2 a week - I don't mind them as I'll use them to fill up and take to whatever shop rather than leave them out front for the foxes to nest in. Maybe it's just my neighbourhood.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. This is fantastic to see how many people are checking in to update their good progress! Well done everyone on sorting your lives out! I have struggled with feeling overwhelmed this week. I very much go into a very dark and weird place as my birthday comes up; this has gone on since my 40th, 4 years ago. I felt like I had !!!!!! everywhere and couldn't get the cleaning done around it all and wanted to decorate as well at the same time, so I did.... nothing!
However, somewhere between this time last week and now, I read through the thread and looked at what other people are getting done, and I went around the house and just moved stuff. One think at a time, as I saw something, I did something. And that has hugely helped! My husband did a lot of work in cleaning too and now the results are, finally, the house seems straight after Christmas.
So, to total my efforts:
Brick-a-brack, clothes, shoes, old coats and Christmas tree added to my clearance, takes me to 158/2023 kilos! So I'm just about on target, though I don't that I have another 1850 or so kilos left to clear!November 2023
I'm always in it, it's only the depth that varies....

Well I’ve already hit my target of 10 things today by having a look around the kids rooms. Still prioritising DD’s room and stuff ahead of the furniture arriving tomorrow and then will carry on with DS’s stuff. How do they get so much stuff as I definitely don’t buy it for them!I’ll easily be making 1,000 before I’m done with their things at this rate! Hopefully I can get us to a better place with kids stuff soon and then the other things will be less and go a lot slower as they aren’t too bad at all. Although both kids birthdays are also coming up 😬.
761-762 - wooden pegs (binned)
763 - toy (charity box)
764-69 - toys (buy nothing)
770-771 - packaging (reused)
Thanks for my flowers @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
I will be looking forward to Sort Your Life Out coming back on this week as I prefer it to the Nick Knowles programme. For better motivation though I prefer some minimalist videos as I’m not cluttered like the programmes but not as empty as a minimalist and I like to look to see what is possible. I have no desire to be a minimalist per se, but I do want a lot less than the average so I can keep on top of everything.2025 decluttering: 3,507🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Morning xx
Just raising my recliner in the TLC carriage to inform that P & S have taken the bag of books to drop off at cs for me. 😊
Everyday rubbish and recycling has been going out but that's all. However I do believe I'm slowly rediscovering my declutter mojo. 🤞
Re: nature vs nurture debate. I'm wondering if geography comes into it. There are at least three of us on here from the same county. And it's not what you'd call a heavily populated county. Just a cluttered one apparently 😉
Love to all. I'm enjoying reading all your posts and cheering you on from the sidelines.
