Keep going everyone, you're doing so well19 -
I was working at decluttering and cleaning my sewing machine area today. It was such a mess.

I'm in total agreement with everyone saying not to save things "for best". After all, who is to say that today isn't going to the best? Drinking your juice out of a crystal glass in your favourite frock might just make it the best. I've been guilty of never using things in the past as they've felt too good to use for everyday but I'm not doing that any more. I wear my cosy cashmere jumper every evening over my pajamas to keep warm in the house and it's absolutely lovely.
I'm still plodding on with my decluttering and took 13 more books to the charity shop today so I'm up to 163/2023 things now.22 -
It’s for best , because, each day as we plod along, we are doing our best.
I’m collecting up a list to put on here soon
Hugs, and keep safe everyone.21 -
Evening All
Good to hear everyone's up for using their stuff rather than saving it for best. As a certain House Doctor Ann Maurice would say, if you're not using it, 'it's taking up real estate', and I don't have any spare real estate in my one bedroom flat.
Continuing with paper decluttering as no time and energy for anything else, shredded 26 pieces and recycled 22 pieces.
Binned 2 pairs of underwear and 2 pairs of socks that were past redemption. Also binned 4 pairs of pop socks, not sure when I last wore these, ages ago I'm sure.
Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

Dfw38 , my son had similar colour walls in the 90’s with French navy curtains and painted furniture. It was called pistachio but in reality it was lime green. 🤣
Well hello everyone and welcome to new joiners. There are just so many posts, I can hardly keep up. Best wishes for all who need them and thank you all for sharing. Some outstanding frog eating going on, fabulous.I have had something of a moment, that has stopped me in my tracks and made me think. I have corralled several ornamental things that I thought could go after putting the sitting room back together. There are a pair of Chatsworth lions, scale copies.Mr V wants to keep them. I am ashamed to say I never consider him in getting rid of stuff. Shocked myself with my selfishness. It has brought me up short. We will keep them. He is so easy going, he does whatever I want. I will be more considerate, he lives here too. ❤️tbh I didn’t realise that he even noticed our interior design.Vx:23 -
363: leaflets from communal hall put in recycling bin outside
364: small amount of shredding
365-366: bin bag and bag of mixed recycling taken to outside bins
367-388: items to bin bag
389-408: stuff to recycling
Delayed Decisions:
49-57: more stuff for specialist sale identified and potential buyer contacted
58-61: t-shirts and a photograph album to charity shop bag.
Today, have to be honest, I've had a "birrova cob on, duckeh" which translates from Nottingham dialect to "been a bit irritable". But, since it feels like the 91st Tuesday of January, and Tuesday is always an odd day for me, hardly surprising. It'll pass.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

INSPIRED!!!! I have 1 of 2 glasses that were given to us as wedding gifts. They/it were/are beautiful handblown off green glass with little bubbles in the glass. The thing that makes them so very beautiful is that they/it is not round, it's triangular. That means it's a lovely fit to the hand. Sadly one was broken decades back but I do still have the one. I do so solemnly swear to resurrect it and use it regularly as it's too beautiful not to be used.
