@Dfw38 that's awful. I hope the situation gets resolved for DD.After finally pouring out more duck food into the little origami bags I made from scrap paper and sorting out a couple of parcels, some people contacted me on buy nothing. Made me remember the weekend is good for posting and so added a couple more items to clear the library a bit more. This is the room I dump everything whilst decluttering is in progress and so I make sure that at least as much is leaving it as is coming in (preferably more going out) whilst the process is ongoing. It means I list or parcel up for charity almost every day. After that I still felt I needed to do something and so I did the deep drawer in my desk that has all my financial/legal paperwork. It's been under control for years and I just go through it once a year or so and get rid of the old stuff. Managed to find quite a bit to get rid of there. Definitely done now and will be putting my feet up later.564 - destroyed bedsheet (recycled)565-567 - paper (reused, then recycled)568 - fold out bed (buy nothing/tip)569-573 - spare printer & accessories (buy nothing)574-607 - paper (shredded)608-610 - cards/card holders OOD (shredded/binned)2025 decluttering: 5,000 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟2025 use up challenge: 362🥉🥈🥇💎🏆Mini freezer challenge +4/-20Big kitchen declutter challenge 120/1502025 decluttering goals I Use up Challenge: 🥉365 🥈750 🥇1,000 💎2,000 🏆 3,000 👑 8,000 I 🥉12 🥈26 🥇52 💎 100 🏆 250 👑 50016

59 & 60 2 lip balms that did nothing for dry lips
Thanks mrs SD for awarding 2 points for my big items on last post ,takes total to 63
Slow declutter day today. Went out food shopping, meds collecting, various errands this morning. This afternoon declutteting plans stalled to keep an eye on my little cat who fainted mid vomit. Who knew cats could faint? She was trembly and frightened after so cat cuddling and book reading.. shes now back to normal18 -
Thank goodness that is over @Muddy_Walker
@TC77. It is certainly keeping me focussed. Its a strategy that works for short period for me. Otherwise I would bumble through life.
Thanks for your kind words @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
I didn't do anything in the end last night and I am still exhausted today. Had GS3 today and he really didn't want an afternoon nap despite me walking 5 plus miles. Anyway. I am just about to jump up and do something, not sure what.
I did delegate some work at the in laws to DH as he is has his final weekday off between jobs. He did more than expected and I am grateful.
DS1 is still living with us. It has been over a week now.
SiL is in hospital. Not sure what is going in but she has to have an MRI of her head and neck. She was admitted with a horrible cough, vomiting and off food afew days ago. I hope it is something can treated easily.
Right. time to get a shiggle on as we say in our house.

Re the nurture nature: many years ago I worked beside a chap who was your typical hoarder, narrow channels in his rooms between piles of newspapers, had to sleep in his chair as couldn't get near the bed etc. In his 60s he made contact with his biological mother who he hadn't seen or heard from in over 60 years. He visited her abroad where she had lived all that time. Her house was exactly the same. I remember having a conversation with him about it and he said how it kinda opened his eyes to how he was living almost as if he was seeing his stuff for the first time after asking her what she needed all this stuff for (he clearly had identified all her stuff as 'rubbish'). But he never changed his ways lol, he was a lovely man (if you kept upwind), interesting and funny but I wouldn't have liked him as my upstairs neighbour for sure.

Finished work at lunchtime and decided to do some decluttering this afternoon as I had lots of things in my home office waiting to be filed away, and other things I just hadn't put back properly.
55-59 sachets of haircare products from hairdresser used up this week - none of them good enough for me to buy
60-68 assorted stationery bits I don't need at home in a bag to go to friend - duplicate stapler, hole punch, post-it's I'll never use, boxes of elastic bands, staples etc
69 A4 notebook with only a few sheets of paper in to recycling
70 broken hard drive to bin
71 old laptop sleeve too big for current laptop ready for charity shop
72-79 8 more jigsaws for charity shop
I also had a good declutter of paperwork, old receipts, pens that don't work anymore, and put all my pens and pencils neatly in a new organiser I got last year and just left on my desk. It all looks very neat and tidy now!

@Dfw38, I hope your DD is ok. Girls can be absolutely mean. My DD struggled until she broke away from the old friends and found her tribe. When they do come through, you are so proud of them.
@Muddy_Walker, glad that you decluttered the appointment.I had breakthrough this morning before leaving for work. DH mentioned that he would have to pop into town. No sooner mentioned at 6.50am, than the cs bag in waiting was deposited at his feet before I left for work. All the collected bits and bobs have left the house 🥳. Apart from the new plastic table cloth, which, it appears, has been brought back for Justin 🤬. It has not come back into the house, but has been banished to the shed.
Yesterday evening, sweet serendipity… I was reaching up to put away a couple of mugs and knocked a couple of those annoying glass ramekins that everyone seems to have lurking. It set off an avalanche, and the end result was 9 of them have left the house, not all of them unscathed, it must be said. When I looked at the back of the shelf, I think that I spotted more lurking, so another shelf ripe for decluttering.
So the declutter result of the last couple of days - 2 more books and 9 glass dishes.
Off to see about this Nick Knowles programme now.17 -

I can't seem to stop today. Did a few computer bits this evening whilst I was watching TV and before I knew it I was decluttering my eBay list again! I think kids stuff, food and digital clutter must be top of my mental list this year.611 - packaging (used)612-653 - eBay watch list items deleted2025 decluttering: 5,000 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟2025 use up challenge: 362🥉🥈🥇💎🏆Mini freezer challenge +4/-20Big kitchen declutter challenge 120/1502025 decluttering goals I Use up Challenge: 🥉365 🥈750 🥇1,000 💎2,000 🏆 3,000 👑 8,000 I 🥉12 🥈26 🥇52 💎 100 🏆 250 👑 50015

Evening All
Continuing with box 5 of 6 decluttering paperwork, found 2 car MOT's from more than 20yrs ago, for a car that's long since been scrapped. When I think about it like that it's mind boggling why I've kept some of these things!
Shredded 64 pieces, recycled 2
I have earmarked 4 decluttering jobs for the weekend, as well as continuing with decluttering the paperwork
Top of dresser
Top drawer of dresser (junk drawer)
Medicine drawer
Bathroom shelf
I also hope to get to the charity shop with a donation
Well done everyone!
