@Gers that's the sort of I would keep. I have my Mum's sewing scissors. My lovely friend used all her embroidery silks to make me a home sweet home picture.@Liverpool-Anne that's what we do with leftover candles.I've had a potter around, DS lovely girlfriend brought us some Harrod's biscuits, so I've reused the tin for important paperwork like my will, birth certs ect. 2 manky pillows disposed of. All the washing virtually dry from the line, now airing, emails dealt with, DP helping to declutter the freezer by cooking paella 😋14

Oops, away for 40 minutes & am starting again at 17:42 hours 😉
Great decluttering QueenJess 👏 I see DH helped a bit 😉 I feel sure that now you are getting into a routine you WILL get to the stage where you think & know you have decluttered enough 😊 Fingers crossed that you will soon be in a position to move the furniture around to find the most suitable layout 🤞
Keiths_Mum, I have one or two of those type of boxes - very personal belongs or mementoes mostly my possessions but mixed in with my Mum’s bits & pieces. Whenever I decide to tackle one of these boxes I always manage to persuade myself to remove at least one item to deal with, then quickly close the box. I deal with the item I have removed & then wait for my next moment of bravery 😉 What lovely memories of hedgehogs & how lucky to see bats as well 🙂 When my parents moved to France, DH & I loved going to visit as they had bats. We would sit on the back step for 30 minutes at a time just watching the bats and/or staring at the myriad of stars - whole constellations (no light pollution) rather than the half dozen or so we can see from our back garden 🥳 Great decluttering of paperwork 👏 After a hard day at work I can imagine that shredding is quite therapeutic 🙂
What an uplifting post DundeeDoll 👏 All your hard work decluttering is paying dividends 👏 It must be quite exciting to discover an item that you had forgotten about 🥳 also saves so much money 😉 Isn’t it lovely that we are all encouraging & supporting each on our decluttering journeys 😊
What a pain weenancy - 10 days without a phone & barely any internet 😖 Now that is what I call loyalty to a company - 75 years at least 🤩 Shame that they are not showing you the same loyalty Oh well, their loss 😉 Good job you remembered your roommates prescriptions as they obviously hadn’t 😔 I hope your weather forecasting cat is wrong & that the rain stays away 🤞
vulpix, love the idea of celebratory decluttering 😅 Lovely chatty post 😊 & well done on the sales 👏
Good luck with the ‘sheds of doom’ shabbychic12 🍀 Hopefully you can find plenty of items to declutter by selling them rather than donating 🤞 Anything to bring your vision of home office/spare room into reality 🤞 If you like the Nick Knowles programme, you might like the Stacey Solomon one which starts Wednesday 25th January on BBC 1 (I think). Her tame carpenter comes up with some brilliant storage ideas which he then builds 🙂
daisy_1571, “warthog” is building up quite a following 😉 Love your thoughts on moving home - SecondStar is receiving some wonderful ideas 👏
well done on both the work on collating your ‘for sale’ items & the continuing work you are doing at your in-laws 👏
Lovely post Dfw38 😊
TC77, I think your frog tickling is probably going better than mine 😉 Good luck with tidying your chest of drawers & desk 🍀Getting excited now, another page of cheerleading done 🥳 only another 6 to go 😉
See you all later - off to make dinner - cottage pie from scratch.

@D123456789 oh no! drawn in by marketing. This is where shopping from your home store/cupboard comes in. It helps the slowing down of the intake of lovely items and we really don't have the space anymore. We have all been there and done it, don't worry. We are here to help with such trails. By putting like with like we get a clearer picture of our "stock". It takes a lot of practise don't get me wrong and is constantly WIP (work in progress) Years many many years
Enjoy your new purchases

Fab news @Millie2008_2 re your Mum. Although psoitive is still cam make you wobbly.
Such a lot of activity on here.
I did more sorting in the craft/store room last night. Colour sorted about half my wools. I have a blanket to make before the end of Feb and I have sort of stopped crocheting.. Time to get back on the wagon.
Today I spent most of the day caring for GrS3 as his Dad was working with DH to put this darned swing together. I think the words NEVER AGAIN among choice unrepeatable phrases have been said. A lot. :smil:smile:
Tonight I am doing a bit more sorting and then sitting down to crochet. Have a great evening all.

Wow you've all been so busy over the last few days.
We've carried on with stripping the wallpaper in the boys bedroom. 3 days but it's finally done, now to fill sand and repaper. No other decluttering has been done while we've been busy with that.

Hello everyone!
Finally caught up with the thread - yay! I have been mentally decluttering over the past few days - blummin hard too. Had some difficult decisions to make which I have now done after bending hubby’s ears off, losing sleep and binge eating over. I have been a volunteer with cadets for many many years and have now decided to stop. I need to save my energy and focus more on getting some form of fitness back and as I have to work full time that can wear me out.
I have also been thinking about putting in a claim for PIP and that decision wasn’t made lightly at all!!!! My NET cancer support group have been a godsend and have advised accordingly.
so although not much physical stuff has been thrown out lots of mental stress has.
I have a colonoscopy tomorrow and am now about to drink disgusting concoction number 2….tummy sounds like a heavy metal band it is rumbling so much!⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering
