Valli......................omg.........................please please take care and stop doing things...........easier said than done!General stuff doneDaily stuff done more of normal stuff. At 2pm expecting a odd job man, to install a cat flap in to a solid wood door, we have been leaving the door from kitchen to lounge open for the cats, the kitchen has no heating and backs on to the conservatory which also has no heating, so while we are heating the lounge all the cold is rushing in from the kitchen, so cat flap is going in that door fingers crossed, that way they can left themselves in and out when they want and the draft should almost go.Still cold and icy hereBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Reporting in…
cauliflower stalk and leaf soup with added LO cauliflower cheese simmering nicely. I maybe need to market that better to the recipients. From memory… Crème du Barry anyone?QHI, clean clothes sorted.
Dining room given a good dust and vacuum, rest of downstairs given a quick sweep through.
Mould scrubbed off the window frames in DR, LR and DD’s bedroom. Side windows cleaned in those rooms, back windows will be done when the sun moves. Can you guess which rooms in the house are in the sun at this time of year??Sourdough starter that was restarted after our busy weekends away has been given a feed ready to make foccacia tomorrow for DD’s return, as it is her favourite.
With a bit more practice and no distracting paid stuff, I reckon that I could eventually make a flylady with a fair wind behind me🤣8 -
Well done Fayolle
I have decluttered zzz.
Can't see any cobwebs on the BR ceiling, so that's good
Better get up, showered and dressed, but more parrots first.8 -
Fayolle .. brassica soup??
Valli... do take care.. and the DD is clearly a fabulous woman .. must get it from her Mother!
DW cleaned out and running again.. more suds and a hot wash.. greasy pans and oven trays.TD onWM onapparently my sister wants 2 KS duvets washing so those are coming here too..So many parcels delivered.. many for EC, one for Boog and one for Dot. She has a huge sensory packge from a charity.. I am seriously considering wrapping it up for her.. that is a true 'Santa gift' It has a wonderful little lava lamp style thing but it is glitter in oil or water and doesn't need heating but I might steal it.. it is wonderful. She has a blackout tent, I was going to get her one of those but couldn't afford it.. and a bubble tube which I will have to put in the summer house.. I love them but they are so noisy I just can't cope.
Airers cleared and refilled.. I have no bed it is covered in clean laundryDanced Feargal over all the downstairs.. my kitchen looks almost not disgusting... There are sides.. and floor.. it is improving incredibly slowly.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
Valli ouch! Glad it was sorted fairly quickly.
So tomorrow's today's master plan:
put slow cooker on
do more report writing
clear away Christmas cards as we have done them all so they can make space in the dining room
I think I have a couple more charity 'cards' to type and print where we have donated in lieu of presents.
Sort out presents and review what needs buying/wrapping.
When Mr N gets back from the gym we will decorate the tree; it is up and has working lights.
Make the front door wreath. I have sorted through the flowers and cut some of the long stems off in the hope that the shorter ones, in warm water, will encourage flowers to open! Oasis soaked and ready.
If I feel so inclined and if any flowers have opened, I'll do something for church.
One load through DW. Emptying it/putting away was probably the warmest thing I've done, how I cuddled those plates!!
Put hot water on bird bath and checked feeders. While I've been working, a pied wagtail has been along the windowsill and picked up all the dropped food from the feeders.
Emptied compost bin from kitchen - no mean feat as the brown wheelie bin still has a few inches of snow on it and the lid was frozen.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
One door decoration - not that different from last year's really! Sorry I don't know how to make the photo any smaller.....
Leftover Christmas cards sorted and put back in box.
Tree decorated.
Lounge more or less decorated.
Bit more of a report done.
Dumplings made to go in stew; cooked and devoured.
Cooking and flower debris cleared from kitchen.
About -4 outside so unless it thaws a lot tomorrow, I may not be able to cut any more foliage for a little church display and I'm not bothered.
Lake is closed for the weekend for swimming as it is frozen solid....that saves me from being a wimp and wondering whether to go in.
Eek, a brown furry "bird" was sitting under the bird table eating .....ok it had 4 legs and a tail. Very bold - Mr N chased it off several times. I asked him how far from the house he wanted a rat to be before he deemed it wildlife to be admired?
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
I have made tea - careful thinking ahead meant I mainly used my good arm…it was the left I popped out and I’m right handed, and napped. App for CH working again, router switched off and on again which resolved the problem…and that was the cause of the fall.DW and WM loaded. Sling worn almost all day.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Thank you Honey Bear7 -
Good morning all,
I’m up after a stint in the WAC for the second night running.
Beautiful flowers again, Narc0. Eekk to the furry “bird” so close to the house.
Off to pick up DD from uni city shortly to bring her home to defrost from her freezing and damp digs. Mayhem, chaos and clutter expected. Most of the presents were wrapped yesterday afternoon - tbh there weren’t that many, and a lot less than previous years, which is to plan. One wrist warmer complete to the spec sent on a photo (DD has far more faith in my knitting abilities than my actual capabilities), second one will be done sometime in the week when she isn’t around.
Flying today may be limited to some cooking, meal planning for next week and sorting out the Mr M delivery and the milk order.
Iona - keep warm and rest to recuperate. Valli - take it easy.
Hugs to all x7 -
Morning all. I hope all the poorlies are improving. Lovely photos being posted.
I have not posted for a couple of days as I've been very busy with end of term paid stuff and napping when I can as I'm full of cold.
Today, I will venture out for a short walk with Poppet but apart from that will just do essential dailies and some little sewing jobs.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.9
