- Went to carol service, very poorly attended unfortunately - 3 of us (who are also the flower ladies, cleaners and makers of refreshments) each read twice. It was very cold, helped marginally by the non-alco mulled wine after, and one of the ladies had got me some gf mince pies.
- Drove home to dump car and pick up a bread roll for me then walked very carefully (had thawed a bit yesterday then frozen overnight) into the village for the community brunch. Tempted to ask why there were 60 people, when barely 20 at church! However they did a good job - sausage or bacon butties, hot drinks, pies/cakes, a cracker and a raffle ticket each - all free. It is a recent community thing, this time it was voluntary donations which will go towards the cost of one in Feb. Freezing rain started as we walked home.
- put up all the other decorations we wanted then put boxes away.
- filled bird feeder. Chased off rat.....
- decided it would be nice to sit and slob by the TV.
- cut and put in to soak the oasis I'll need for this week's flowers. I've got 5 arrangements to do.
- about to finish and email a report.
- had a chat with mum and DB about setting up a zoom for a friend in Aus on Saturday.
gentle hugs to those who are sick/healing and warm vibes to all. We're forecast rain for days, wouldn't be surprised if all the snow was washed away by tomorrow.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
