    Common sense prevails .....

The previous Alternative Fuel Payment eligibility window was from September 2022. UKIFDA have shared more information on this update and how heating oil consumers apply:

This window has been extended back to June 2022 to ensure that households who purchased fuel in bulk ahead of the winter are able to receive the £200 energy bill support they are entitled to.

If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.
If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.

Finally got my confirmation today. Was intrigued by this bit on the email.

Future assurance checks will take place to ensure that the payment has been correctly awarded.

What does that entail? I note it says they will take place and not might take place.

My email said that as well but I cannot answer your question

Did your email also say "It may take up to 5 days for you to receive the payment."?

It was actually ten days before I received the £200 in my bank account, although ten days was still quite acceptable.

Just checked my bank account and the money arrived four days before the email.

So... Applied on 9th March. Called the helpline last week as hadn't heard anything and it had been 6 weeks. Was told it was because there were some bank holidays so the local authorities are playing catch up & to call again if I hadn't heard anything by the end of this week. Still heard nothing so just called again to be told that there is a backlog and they can't give me an update, I have to wait for the local authority to respond and there is no point in me calling again to get an update! Glad I'm not relying on the money to get more fuel in this unseasonal weather we appear to be having & I hope others that who may be in desperate need of the money don't get the same response.

Lots of others are having the same problems if you read through some of the other posts on the board. My thread on Receipts from 1 JUNE  shows the problems I encountered.
