RG2015 said:The idea that governments get policy decision details correct first time is not supported by any historical evidence.
This is just another example of government carelessness with quite major consequences.
It will be corrected in due course.

Just spoke to a very rude woman on the AFP helpline who wasn't really interested and said the scheme will never change and that only receipts after 01/09/22 will be accepted. She even hung up on me after I asked who I could speak to to provide feedback to!

I need to top up (after this cold snap - heating is back on!) so will try that tactic if the Sep22 nonsense stays.

Two days later and still cannot get hold of my Calor supplier to see if they can provide copy receipts of my purchase. Cannot order any gas either, constantly on answerphone saying they will ring back, and don't. I wonder if they are being swamped with calls about receipts for the AFP.What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Perhaps if MPs were all inundated with complaints (not just Grant Shapps) they might have to acknowledge and maybe even do something about it.2

There's nothing anywhere to say you can't - you are simply asked to submit receipt dated after 1st September. I'd be confident you'll be on a safe bet if you do this and other than ordering a bit earlier than you otherwise would have done you don't stand to lose a lot by trying.
