Good afternoon -or it will be on by the time I press Post.I
It looks as if I they will be sending me home tomorrow - they being the wonderful staff at the Regional Heart and Lung unit in Milennium City. I managed to walk about 50 yards this morning, so everything will be a struggle for a while, and flying is forbidden for the time being.
I will cheer you all on from the side lines!10 -

Fortunately it was planned, so I had time to prepare everything and fill the freezers, but I was called in a couple of weeks earlier than I had expected. Very pleased that I shall be home for Christmas!9

Thanks, pigpen. I decided not to make a fuss in advance as the chance of multiple cancellations was so high, and it would just leave me more frustrated. I was very lucky to only be delayed for one day10

Get well soon Ionafan x
I have been working on doing a shelf a day - this week it has been the food cupboard. I don’t think I have done it since DS2 moved out and my Mum died. I did clear a 3 bed roomed house though that year with very little help.
My weekend aim is to find my gloves, repaint my toenails and sort the corner cupboard. We are also visiting DS2 and it is the dance school’s Christmas do tomorrow evening. It has been icey here, I skidded on a detour to post a Christmas card on way to the studio this morning.DS1 has flown off to a weekend break with his gf. Hope he isn’t pleading poverty anytime soon.9 -
Iona, so lovely to hear that you might be going home, but please, please take it easy. You can direct flylady operations from the comfort of your own bed. No throwing fluffy mules though, until you are up to it.
It’s been a busy, bitty Saturday so far:
out first thing to next village to get our christmas tree from a field. Legitimately, not just chopping down someone’s tree. Back via the butchers (chicken and sausages for christmas day ordered), Coop and local shop (2023 calendar found for way less than bigger shops are charging, and it will fit the space where the nail is to hang it on).
curried veg soup made with a few bits of root veg lurking in the fridge. Enough for probably 4 more portions after today’s lunch was had.
whole house vacuumed. DH had vacuumed the LR yesterday after he had screwed up the fallen coving. Me: did you vacuum behind the settee cushions where the coving came down? Him: why? Me: because the plaster dropped everywhere. Him: did it? At this point, I just did it myself.

3 more cards written, I need to buy about 10 more. Grrrrrr. Ooohhhh, maybe I can make them, in the squillions of free hours that I have…
Spare room tidied and bed made up for DH’s cousin.
Off out for a curry this evening, weather and roads permitting. Minus 4 this morning, the grass is still thick with frost. I am the nominated driver, unfortunately.7 -
Welcome home Ionafan, and I'm glad it's over and done with. *Healing vibes*Our lovely musician neighbour has bought a place elsewhere in the city and today has finished moving out. I'm a bit sad about that and will miss him - he's a lovely man and has been a great source of merriment, energy, kindness and fun for the past three or four years. The Lockdowns and life in general would have been a lot duller without him.I've made the Christmas puddings and will steam them tomorrow. It's the first year I've done all three - mincemeat, puddings and cake. I really dislike all three when they're bought because they're far, far too sweet so this is my only way to enjoy them.Lovely lodger brought a friend in last night who was in need of accommodation for just one night, and they both left to go to the theatre to do a matinee and tonight's show and are driving back to London afterwards. I hope the road conditions aren't grim for them. So, in theory I could and should go down and strip and make up two beds, clean the shower room and do two loads of laundry but I'm not feeling it right now so that's going to wait until tomorrow. Rosie the trumpeter arrives tomorrow afternoon so it will have to be ready by evening time, so it will be.Better is good enough.8

Hi all
So Saturday disappeared in a flash, my DB is visiting my parents so called over there to see them all. Then into town for a wander around the shops and off to Mr Ms for a big food shop. First time in my life I have spent over £200 in a supermarket all in one go. However, we are very well stocked up, and nearly half of this was Christmas extras which was planned and budgeted for.
Flying has been very minimal but I will catch up tomorrow.
Love and healing vibes to Valli and Iona x11
