Lunch with neighbour had, finished moving the tenant from the house opposite to the house around the corner. That's it for the day because I am truly shattered.

Sorry I don't know how to quote
I read along and love all your posts.
Hope you don't mind me confirming about when Christmas starts.
We are currently in the season of Advent, not Christmas. Christmas itself does indeed start on the 25th December, which is then followed by Epiphany on 6th January.
This is why Christmas Trees are not traditionally taken down until the 12 days have finished.
It is the commercial Christmas that starts early and finishes on Boxing Day.
But love the idea of a Flylady Christmas

We get ours the second day.. I keep my cards up until at least February (I think it was June or July this year!) so I don't mind when they arrive

Thanks for that Dizzy Donkey. I wasn't exactly sure of the correct religous structure of Advent / Christmas but Belovéd's birthday is 6 January, Epiphany, so in this house we genuinely do 12 days of Christmas from 25 December anyway.Better is good enough.9

Nothing exciting here, and probably even less flying. Dailies have been done with bad grace, I need a rocket up the derrière this weekend to actually clear this tip of a house. All rockets, gratefully received.DH’s cousin is coming to stay on Saturday night, which means that I have to clear out the carp from the spare room and all the Christmas gubbins (admittedly there isn’t a lot of that atm, but it’s the principle), and make up the bed. Grrrr, that wasn’t on my agenda for the weekend.
I have however written a few Christmas cards this evening. Progress I suppose, however slow.10 -
Natty68 said:Hugs Valli, I do hope you are feeling better today. Although if my dh's chemo is anything to go by you'll start to feel better about 3 days afterwards. It's a shame they couldn't have started yours on a Friday then it gives you the weekend to recover..👍You will get used to the horrible metallic in your mouth too honey. The good news on that front is you can experiment with different tasting foods to see what you can actually taste from now on.
Hope everyone is managing to stay warm indoors during this cold spell. I've had to make a decision to keep the heating on low overnight as it takes way too long to reheat the house when it is on timed. For those that can't keep the heating on please wrap up warmly 😘
Anyway I’ve only two more sessions and then I’m done! Looking forward to ringing the chemo bell.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all xx
A heavy frost plus foggy here this morning. I don't think the temperature rose above freezing yesterday. And it's not forecast to do so this weekend. I'm soooooo pleased the man fixed my boiler on Wednesday evening.
I'm up, made my bed, and had a brew.

The clue is in the name.. christmas EVE ... then 12 days from there..
Tree's were not introduced as part of the UK tradition until 1800
Advent.. starts the 4th Sunday before Christmas, typically the last Sunday in November. (closest to St Andrews day (30th))
Boxing day is NEVER on a Sunday.. because of the religious aspect.. so Sunday can be 26th but then Boxing Day is 27th which occured last year... This year it is a Monday.
My youngest sibling is 33 today.
