Afternoon all,
Thank you for the lists. I will Try Harder, honestly!
Back from an overnight visit to DSiL’s and DBiL’s, met other DSiL and DNiece there too, which was nice. Lunch out all together, which was lovely.
Drove back this morning, then I have taken DD’s car to small town to give it a run, get petrol and pick up a few toiletry bits for DD. I now need to sort out what I have actually bought her into one place. Tomorrow I am meeting up with DSis for a cs trawl and lunch. My mission is to persuade her that we don’t need to “do” presents any more. My fallback position is maybe a £5 total spend in a cs as a challenge. This afternoon, I need to unpack, sort clean washing out from the airing cupboard, make a coffee cake for DD (her request for when I meet her on Wednesday), get a meal plan down for the rest of the week. What I really want to do right now is to declutter some zzzz’s.
Hugs to all, spoons ready and waiting by the door. Help yourself xx10 -
Evening all. Thanks for the list.
Toddlers have now left the building until Wednesday so tonight I'm doing nowt. Tomorrow I will fly in the morning and I'm meeting friends in the afternoon.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Hi all
Fayolle DB and I have decided not to do presents and instead get both families together to have a weekend away somewhere next year, or at the very least have a special day out. That knocks a bit of my present list.
Tired, but the first of three challenging days is done. Car went through MOT fine but needs a fancy bulb that the garage dont have in stock so I think I am relying on DH as taxi tomorrow until we can collect it.
Oh and I have the dentist tomorrow.
Flying has been limited to emptying the DW and refilling it, and moving some clean washing from one place to another (but not actually putting it away).9 -
It's been a long day. I managed to clean all through the house and also crossed a couple more outstanding jobs off my list. (Did I say that I finally dealt with the annoying cane toad at the weekend?) I didn't have to take Rosie for her walk as the dog walker had said she would do so, which meant I could relax after lunch.
DS1 came round this afternoon and brought my belated birthday presents - a set of measuring spoons and some loaf tin liners. Was he giving a bit hint that he wants me to make him more cakes??? Hmmm... Coffee cakes are his favourite too!
Tomorrow I am taking the whole day off and may just sleep all afternoon

Morning all. Up early for no particular reason but I may as well crack on.
Have just found a gentle workout that supposed to be good for bad backs so I'm going to give that a go first.
Spoons and sticks in abundance for anyone who wants them
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Morning all,
Awake at normal work time, but luxuriated in being in my own bed, which was cosy, for another hour. Up, hair washed, dressed, breakfast in progress. Mr M due in an hour. Hopefully he will be early then I’m off to visit DSis, so the driving anxiety is being pushed to the back of my mind atm. Thanks, YL, I’m thinking of suggesting that we get together for a lunch instead. As all our birthdays are September - January, something in the spring or early summer might be nice to look forward to.
Mince defrosting from the freezer to make the smallest of gaps. DH has announced that he might be out for work tonight, so I will prep the same meal anyway this evening and it will do for tomorrow night’s dinner.
Have a lovely day all. Gws wishes to all the poorlies, especially in Pigger’s household.7 -
MorningCats fedBirds / deer fedFire cleaned outIroning done and awayEby parcel wrapped, just got to wait for them to pay.Off to big town to get a voucher for ss1 and family for Christmas. If all goes to plan the cats are off at 2.15pm for the vets for annual check up and jabs! I've had their carry boxes out in the lounge for a couple of days so they get use to them, and normally they are in about 1pm ish to eat and sleep, so in theory it will be just a case of scouping them up at about 1.45, straight in to the relevant box.
all good plans and all that.......

Morning all. I've been in and out of these threads this year and after being ill, and in the run up to Christmas, I definitely need the guidance of here to help me tackle everything! Love the idea of pick and mix. Yesterday managed to tidy the living room; still need to dust and vacuum, but at least the clutter has gone.
Today I've decided is bedroom day so I've already stripped our bed and the sheets are in the wash. I need to remake the spare bed after we had a guest here a couple of weeks ago, and put away the laundry that's been piled on top of it (thus preventing me from making said bed). Once that's sorted I can then move the wrapped Christmas presents from our bedroom onto the spare bed - it's like tetris around here sometimes! Might put another load of washing on as well this afternoon just so the basket is then empty 😳
