That's why I said the jokes on us Residents. Every meeting we complain of illegal parking.
At the start there was no parking firm, every car would park on the pedestrian walkway, disabled badge holders from other council streets would park here, as it was 'deemed' safer. I remember once there was a Ferrarri parked where the bin collectors would usually take out the containers pre loading onto the truck, they just put all the bins around the Ferrarri. It was hillarious! This was 7-10 years ago, then some parking firm was hired, and there were less non resident cars and DB holders were indeed living in the apartments here (needed permit plus DB badge). Then we had a problem of people abandoning their cars here, seen 2-3 being towed (no insurance, no tax) after like a month ish. There were still some non residents parking where they should not be, but guess it was a deterrant. I mean I've unloaded many times before, the warden would I guess see my car, go check the other streets (*edit, there are 3 streets joined by 1 long one, would take about 15 mins to observe all 3 streets, not inferring warden was hiding/lurking), and return later to my street (grace period expired) and my car would be gone. There's a first time for everything is the saying, this was my first time after 7-8 years of unloading. The warden saw an opportunity and went for it, which for me, I have to fight this all the way (if it's in court, so be it) based on principle. Seeing the footage back it made me angry, warden arrived 20 secs from a blind corner, without an observation period and ticketed within 2 mins of me unloading.

It's not 'illegal' parking.  No laws are broken. It's nuisance parking. Easily dealt with.

Don't let anyone sign that damn new NPE contract!  Why does anyone think you need a sledgehammer aimed at ALL your heads, to crack a nut?

CCTV enforcement won't turn a blind eye. It will be 24/7 surveillance of you all, with zero fairness applied (this is a notorious ex-clamper firm). You are all doomed to NPE PCNs and court claims now unless you call a halt.  No appeal.  Nothing.

Why won't a few posts or bollards and a chain or nice looking trellis fence running along the walkway work?  Rising bollards or some parking posts and/or large boulders?

Google Halfords Streetwise parking post. £26.

Will that plus some yellow hatched lines and a cheap sign for the 'bin lorry only' area not work for you all?

    Hi

Thanks for the excellent example of what I'd been hearing for a good 30 years from residents as they were sick and tired of people parking as they pleased.

Those that ignored my comments of what I was being told left, right and centre by residents can now read a post from a resident that had to encounter awful and dangerous parking at times.

If I lived on an estate, I'd pat the back of every warden that was doing a good job.

I am against what you said if they are really hiding. As you feel the warden was not fair, I wish you luck in court. Please do an update when you win.

    Enjoy your weekend

PS (Slightly OT but it's about people living off the estates and their driveways blocked and often in part and when the owner of the drive complains, more often than not the culprit gets abusive. We are grateful to our traffic wardens that may come out when summoned to ticket someone even if they are encroaching your drive by a few inches as people need to see and be safe when pulling in and out. Where we live you can contact the council and get your drive registered so when it is encroached by anyone and a traffic warden sees it without you reporting it they ticket it. Most people down the road that live near a train station have their drivers registered with the council and when people are ticketed like that, only a few re-offend)

We started with 3 rising bollards, then came the electric gate. U need to ring concierge at a buzzer here to get access if delivering or visiting, or get out and walk across other side of gate and it will open. Some have Sussed this now. Residents have a fob to tap to open. There used to be a manned hut for 3 weeks at this said gate. It didn't make a difference.

In your option or experience how would one manage nuisance parking without a parking firm in a 5 blocks of apartments with over 1000 units, and only about 150 residents underground parking and about 16 DB parking spaces? The main electric gate needs to allow post vans, deliveries and the massive Sainsbury van to stock the supermarket.

You'll get absolutely no opportunity to do that with CCTV monitoring!  Please keep comments on point, not drift off reminiscing and hypothesising.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Hi
did you not note I was referring to the poster that was posted as have others about "wardens hiding" around the corner?
I get your point about being on topic but please also advise the others and not just me.
    Thanks

5 Blocks each containing 200 units on average? Presumably this set up is for people without cars.
