I've just had a look at Youreable and there is a message I don't recall being there before:
LME would like to apologise for the length of the unexpected closure of the Yourable forum.
Following feedback received from forum members regarding the functionality of the platform the decision was made initially to close the forum for a short period of time so that maintenance could be performed to bring the outdated platform up to date. Unfortunately, whilst undertaking this work we discovered a number of issues that have required a much more complex and in-depth review.
Whilst we have anticipated the opening date on a number of occasions there have been some further delays with this opening as planned.
We have all intentions of the platform being opened back up to its members and are looking forward to being able to provide this service again. We are continuing to work through to ensure that the platform reopens as a safe and effective environment for its members, but unfortunately, we are not able to offer a firm re-opening date at present.
We will be issuing notification to members when we have a definitive date and have new moderators trained and in place to support the platform.
We apologise for any distress and disappointment that this may have caused.0 -
I'll believe it when I see it. Been closed for over a year now1

Yes I thought it was the end notice but apparently not.0

"We will be issuing notification to members when we have a definitive date and have new moderators trained and in place to support the platform."I've been a forum global moderator/super moderator, on various fora for over 10 years now, never needed any training just common sense and experience.
Experience which builds on the job, and what modding entails changes over time as peoples use of the internet changes.I suspect that the training involved here is more of the social worker type, with some safeguarding and suicide prevention thrown in.0 -
Another closure of DLF0

@Livingmadeeasy1 Don't seem to be doing anything positive with the forum except leaving people hanging please message them on Facebook X to let them know people are relying on it.

I have given up on it.It has been removed from my bookmarks and I can't remember the last time that I took a peek at the forum, or at LME.If the Youreable forum ever does reopen then it will be a very different place from what it was.
It will have to be brand new, too much has changed in the welfare/benefits world for anything but the most general of the old posts to still have much, if any, relevence.I would not be at all surprised if it's kept closed now at least until all Managed Migrations to UC have been completed. As far as I can see LME is now just a shopfront for disability aids, masquerading as being a charity for tax purposes.
Being honest about it then in my view it always was, LME never contributed anything to the Youreable forum in the way of help or advice - that was left to the many knowledgeble regulars there, who did help many others.
(LME did of course pay the domain fee, website hosting fee, etc. and still are to keep the name going).
About all I can remember that LME ever posted there was occasional links to things that were being sold in their storefront that a particular questioner migh benefit from buying.0 -
I told them to either take it down or let those people that have basically kept it going do so. It seems bonkers to keep stringing people along and paying for a domain for 3 years just to link a contact page.0
