Youreable disability forum down?

Yes I did I assumed as like me someone else is using a similar name. I guess we will see what is left of anything in May if it opens up. I bet it won't recognise us.0

It was me using the name, I seem to have registered here some years ago but that went inactive and I couldn't resurect the nukecad name, so had to use an alternative that I also used elsewhere.I'm guessing that yourable will no longer be hosted on vBulletin software when it resurfaces so we'll have to see what did and didn't get migrated. (Loss of SDP threads maybe?0

It will be a shame if they've lost everything that you put into it, especially the value of a history resource just to wipe it out and start new. The future looks bleak Nuke, especially for new claims when / if the white paper think tank plans go forward, people have had enough fighting for disability benefits the tank is dry for most as covid has taken it's toll as well.0

I have most of my 'sticky's backed up, the important ones anyway, so can just recreate those if needed. As you say though there are a lot of advice and links on there which would be missed if they went missing.
I've already missed a few of my own which I used to refer to often. The white paper is a scandalous mess, brought out on budget day to try and minimise media scrutiny/coverage, it is only a 'discussion' paper though. Anyway we are not supposed to talk policy on here. (I've already been warned once).0 -

So the length of the delay maybe that they are having to work in the background to ensure that all the old posts are there & in the format they want.
Example of this is a forum I mod on used to use vBulletin & switched to XenForo. All old posts are still there. Just some of the pics etc did not transfer over, which I think with the forum you mention would not be a big issue. 👍Life in the slow lane0 -
Yes I'm aware of forum software change migrations, I've been through a few at different places.
Photos and other attachments won't be an issue at yourable, they were disabled anyway for the most part.Threads, Posts, and especially links, do have a habit of going astray, that can usually be fixed from backups once noticed but sometimes links have to be rebuilt one-by-one if you can.TBH though you don't need to close a forum for six months just for a migration to different forum software, most of the work is done in the background (often you'll have the new one running side-by-by side out of public view in the weeks leading up to the change), and a day at the most closure is usually sufficent for the actual switch.
There's obviouly something more going on at youreable, but we may never find out just what it was.0 -

I have most of the important stuff (and lots of no longer needed stuff) 'somewhere on a drive', but it was often easier to search the forum for what I was after than searching through all the years of benefit related files on my drives.
(I really shoud organse them better sometime, but when I started I didn't realise just how big the collection would grow).

I feel sorry for the people who are seeing nothing there and in need of advice or panicking so unfair. Just trying to find the bits on this platform takes a bit of getting back into it. 🤔0
